Issue When doing an "import Trend Logs" in TAC Vista Conversion Tool only HTTPs works and not HTTP. When using HTTP the error message below is shown: "Log on to Building Operation server failed because Failed to access the server, a network error occurred" Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment TAC Vista Conversion Tool version 3.1.1 Cause This is an issue fixed in TAC Vista Conversion Tool version 3.2. The issue is that the "Import Trend Logs" tab looks at the HTTP/HTTPS settings of the "Convert Database" tab instead of its own. Resolution Use TAC Vista Conversion Tool version 3.2 when available. Workaround: Set the HTTP/HTTPS settings on the first tab(Convert Database) even if "Import of trend logs" is done.

Issue How to combine multiple Continuum DBs into one DB Product Line Andover Continuum Environment Continuum Cyberstation Cause Multiple Continuum site databases need to be combined into a single site database Resolution Guideline for combining Multiple sites to one Database Executing this procedure requires a technician who thoroughly understands Continuum and how it works with SQL Server. This procedure does not encompass BACnet controllers. There is a multitude of decisions related to efficiencies and site preferences that are not documented here. The following procedure is intended for use as a guideline for combining multiple databases. This work must be done offline on a development database and validated on a test bench before Note:Before proceeding with this procedure you must do the following. Backup the Continuum database in SQL. Backup all the files and folder structure under New Graphic Files. Note that these files may be on the SQL Server or elsewhere on a mapped drive. Back all Cyberstation Profiles. Steps 1 – 11 must be done before any of the site exports are done. Preparation All sites must have the same revision software and CX firmware. NO EXCEPTIONS! Make sure that all the Alarm Enrollments and Event Notifications have unique names between all sites as these will wind up together in a single database. Make sure that all the Graphics in the Root directory have unique names between all sites. Make sure each Schedules in the Root directory has a unique name across all sites. Make sure each Custom ListViews in the Root directory has a unique name across all sites. Make sure each Groups in the Root directory has a unique name across all sites. Make sure each Reports in the Root directory has a unique name across all sites. Once steps 1-5 are completed, export each class in the root individually. Import files from step 6 into the new site The Local Site name on all the sites that will be combined must be named LocalSite. All workstations must have unique names and ACC IDs between the sites. All CX, ACX and BCX controllers must have unique names and ACC IDs between the sites. Note: The safest way to do steps 9 & 10 is to create a new controller in offline mode with the changed ID, then drag and drop copy from the original controller to the new controller. Panels, reports, and programs then must be edited to bind to the new controller. Another way to merge the panel, reports, and programs that are in the root is to copy all the panels, programs, and reports to their corresponding controller then export the controller. Doing this will keep all the bindings linked. Then once the controller is imported into the merged database they can be copied back up to the root. All Commports on all controllers and workstations must be named Comm1, Comm2, etc… Each site must have the default “ACC” user and password. All graphic files (.pin) under the New Graphic Files folder must have unique names between the sites. Merging the databases Install a standard multi-user Continuum system being sure to size the database big enough to accept all the other databases combined into one database.  After a clean installation is done, shut down the new workstation and the SQL server. Copy the empty database files to an area where they won’t get corrupted. Do a complete site export from each of the sites that will be combined. Back up all the Graphic files (.Pin) files from the site so that they can be transferred to the new server. Copy all the backed up Graphic files (.Pin) from each site onto a New Graphics Files folder in the location of choice. Note these files can reside on the SQL server or elsewhere on a mapped drive. Import each of the site text exports from the old systems into the new system. After each import check to make sure that each import went cleanly. Check all the Graphics, Programs, Alarm Enrollments, and Event Notifications to make sure that all the links were made during the import process.

Issue The en1 network adapter is not an option for assignment when configuring an IP port Product Line TAC IA Series, EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment I/A Series N4 Jace 9000 Building Operation Multi-purpose Controller / VAV (MP-C / MP-V) Building Operation Room Controller / VAV (RP-C / RP-V) Building Operation IP-IO Cause With the switch to Linux for the Jace 9000's operating system, some functions such as sensing adapters work differently when configuring a controller station.     Resolution In N4.13, we have added a new action to find adapters when Jace's are being pre-configured offsite. Start by confirming in the TCP/IP Configuration page that the desired port is configured and enabled. Make sure that some communicating device is connected to the desired port, exhibited by the port's lights on the unit. Examples include a workbench connection, a BACnet IP device/router, or another Niagara Device. Right-click on the "Link" component under the port, and select the "Query For Adapters" option. You should now see the port in the dropdown. Note: With N4.14, using the en1 as a DHCP server is possible.  If using this with BACnet IP MP, RP or IP/IO in Space Logic controllers engineering with Niagara, this is an important consideration for network applications.

Issue Analog Producer value located in an RP-C controller cannot command light object(BACnet type: crs-lighting-output) or blind object(BACnet type: crs-blind-output) located in another RP-C's CRS expansion module. Issue Unable to Access Access Expert after converting from V2 to V3 Product Line EcoStruxure Access Expert Environment Access Expert Hosted software V3 Cause Used the same Password as V2 Resolution When a site is converted from V2 to V3, Feenics sends out an email with a new username and password that can only be used within AX Version 3.   *Note* These new credentials cannot be used in V2. Once the conversion to V3 occurs, the V2 instance will be retired and you will only be able to use the V3 AX client to access your instance.

Issue Instructions needed for batch importing Users into Access Expert Product Line EcoStruxure Access Expert Environment Access Expert Hosted V3 Cause Steps are needed to import Users from another system Resolution Batch Import   When converting a site, all user records and information needs to be imported into the new system. For Access Expert here are the steps in order to accomplish this:   Log on to the instance Once it opens up select the Access Control Tab and choose the Batch icon When this editor opens up select the Download Default Example file This will give a sample of the format that is expected when the Upload CSV is needed From the original application, if there is a dump file (Continuum) or an existing csv, copy and paste into an excel file or use the template and rename it accordingly. Choose the relevant columns to match from the list. Once satisfied with all the entries and fields, save the file then return to AccessXpert and select the Upload CSV as mentioned in Step 3. Select the file to open and once completed, all the users will then be displayed.

Issue Doors are going offline and online. Verification of the number of Reader Licenses purchased for an Instance Product Line EcoStruxure Access Expert Environment Access Expert Hosted Software V3 Cause When adding readers to an existing site the number of subdevices and readers may exceed the number of licensed readers in the instance, so doors bounce offline/online if power is removed from existing readers. A method for verifying the number of reader licenses is needed. Resolution Steps for verifying the number of Reader Licenses for an Instance Open Access Expert and log on to the Instance Right Click on the Instance and select the Manage License option A list of licenses for each object is displayed for the current Instance Based on this information the partner/user can determine how many licenses are required Create a Purchase Order and use the needed part number for the object Example: AXH-RMC-32V3 to add additional reader licenses

Issue Frequency of Zigbee device SED-CO2-G-5045 sending its values. Product Line Field Devices. Environment Zigbee SED-CO2-G-5045 CO2 sensor with room temperature and humidity Cause Unsure how frequently the sensor updates it's values to the network. Resolution The sensor has a Transmission Period (writable) that sets how often the device will send a measurement. Default value = 150 seconds Minimum period = 30 seconds maximum period = 600 seconds   Note that there is also a “Night Mode” to help extend battery life. During “Night Mode”, the transmission period is multiplied by 4.   Night mode is entered when the CO2 level falls below the “Comfort Limit Value”, which is 600 ppm by default.  

Issue Frequency of  Zigbee device SED-MTH-G-5045 sending its values Product Line Field Devices. Environment Zigbee SED-MTH-G-5045 Motion/Humidity/Temperature Sensor Cause Unsure how frequently the sensor updates it's values to the network. Resolution Motion Transmitted immediately on sensing of motion. Temperature  Transmitted, by default at least once every 10 minutes. If it has changed by 0.5 C or more, than it will be sent immediately with a limit on sending no more often than every 2.5 minutes. Minimum interval = 2.5 minutes Maximum interval = 10 minutes Reportable Change = 0.5 degrees C Relative Humidity Transmitted, by default at least once every 10 minutes If it has changed by 0.5%RH or more, it will be sent immediately with a limit on sending no more often than every 2.5 minutes. Minimum interval = 2.5 minutes Maximum interval = 10 minutes Reportable Change = 0.5% RH   These reporting rates are configurable for the sensor.

The recommendation is for the receive heartbeat be set to 2-5 times the send heartbeat of the field controller. Starting at 2 times, then increasing if the problem persists. If the controller doesn’t have a heartbeat and the LON value rarely changes, disable the receiver heartbeat in the IC-LON’s gateway.txt file by setting the heartbeat to 0. Example: 1     2     3        4      5   6  7 2,   2,  112,  1293,  0,  0, 0   The Sigma system is now out of its support period, consideration should be given to transitioning or upgrading to SpaceLogic - EcoStruxure Building Operation.

Issue Detailing configuration and starting DWiz on a computer running EcoStruxure for Buildings Operation. Product Line EcoStruxure Buildings Operation Environment Building Operation Workstation Xenta 281 Xenta 301 Xenta 401 Cause DWiz (Download Wizard) was a part of the TAC Vista installation, but not so commonly used in EcoStruxure Buildings Operation, and therefore no longer included in the Start menu. It is however still installed and could be started from Windows File Explorer. Resolution   Verify the Com port used. If your computer does have a serial port, this is normally Com1 or Com2. If you are using a USB to RS232 adapter (like Aten), you could get a much higher number. The program requires a port number between 1 and 9. You may need to change the port number. This could be done via Windows Device Manager. In Windows File Manager, go to the directory where EcoStruxure Buildings Operation Workstation is installed. Here you will find DWiz.exe as well as MentaSetup.exe. Start MentaSetup.exe, adjust Com Port, select Apply and Close. MentaSetup        5.  Now it should be possible to start DWiz.exe located in the same directory.

Issue Need sample PE program for control of access to a storage cage gate by forklift operators where the gate is required to stay open (up) until the forklift operator cards at the reader a second time on his/her way out of the cage. Issue Added multiple Lon devices to Lon Network and need to mirror SNVTs from more than one device to the Local Node Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Automation Server Premium Building Operation Enterprise Server Cause Using SNVT bindings between devices and the Local Node of the EBO server allows LON communications bandwidth to be optimized by using the LonWorks protocol Send and Receive Heartbeats configured per device. However, it can be a time-consuming task to mirror SNVTs from multiple identical devices. This time can be reduced by selecting SNVTs in multiple devices using search. Resolution Create a new search Search for one SNVT that is available on multiple devices Use this article to create the mirrored SNVTs in the local node: Creating Network Variables Automatically Search for the next SNVT that is available on multiple devices Repeat until all desired SNVTs are mirrored. RECOMMENDATION: Save the searches for use later when adding more new devices.

Issue When attempting to update the firmware on the SP-MRDM module, the update process fails, and the module appears offline with the fault LED activated. A "Module not responding" error message is displayed that indicates the module should be disconnected, and a utility used to restore the firmware.   Product Line EcoStruxure Security Expert Environment SP-MRDM SP-MRDM2 Cause The module has lost its firmware during a failed firmware update attempt, leading to the offline status and fault LED activation. Resolution To resolve this issue, follow these steps: Establish a connection to the SP-C controller using a web browser. Force a module update operation from the Application Software tab. Note that it may be necessary to check the "Skip Verification" checkbox during the update process.

Issue An explanation of Hosted backup options is needed to understand which objects are backed up and which are not. Product Line EcoStruxure Access Expert Environment Access Expert Hosted V3 Cause It's important to understand the backup options available for an instance. Resolution By default, each instance includes a one-year transactional history retention, giving one year of Event History backup. Additional event history retention time can be purchased if required, and such purchases will be visible under "Manage License." Example: Note: There are currently no configuration specific backups that are retained or that can be restored to reinstate deleted hardware or objects into an instance.    Recommendations: Exercise caution when deleting objects, especially controllers, from Access Expert. A prompt requests confirmation before deletion. Generate snapshots of controller configurations and other detailed objects. These snapshots serve as references in case of accidental object deletion, assisting the reconstruction of controllers or other objects with their original configurations. Summary reports can also be useful when trying to rebuild objects. For example: Inputs, Outputs, Readers, etc.

Issue When trying to run webLauncher.exe, an unknown error occurs. An error popup with a red X appears, and the Application will fail afterwards.   Product Line TAC IA Series Environment I/A Series N4 Enterprise Server I/A Series N4 Jace 8000 / 9000 Cause With a recent migration to Web Launcher in 4.14 (launcher version 24.14.0.2), a bug has been reported in new installations. Any computer that is missing a folder named niagara storing the launcher's configuration info will encounter this issue. The folder is located, by default, in the following spot: C:\Users\<Windows username>\AppData\Local\niagara Resolution Go to the location of the launcher executable, and there will be a file named webLauncher_debug.exe. Running this once will create the necessary directory and the Web Launcher will be able to function normally. The default location of the executable is: C:\Program Files\Niagara Web Launcher This issue is known internally at Tridium as defect NCCB-68211, and it will be resolved with the release of Web Launcher 24.14.0.3 and later releases.

Issue Configuring NTP and troubleshooting in the Niagara Frameworks Product Line TAC IA Series Environment I/A Series N4 Enterprise Server I/A Series N4 Jace Cause Guide to configure and test NTP server and Jace sync operations Resolution Please familiarize yourself with the official documentation of the NTP functionality. NTP and its configuration are comprehensively documented in the Niagara Platform Document. The official documentation is updated frequently and may contain information that supersedes the content of this article. Using the ntpq utility program The NTP Project maintains the NTP software that is compiled and included with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (and other most other Linux distributions). To get the software for Microsoft Windows, Meinberg ports the software and provides it. With this software, you not only get the ntpq utility program, you also can run the NTP client/server on your PC. In this way, you can use your PC as an NTP time server to your JACE. NOTE: The Client and Server (Time Only) options were added in 4.9. Using Server creates potential attack surface for 'Mode 6' queries. But to query with ntpq as described below, it must be set to Server, at least temporarily. Be advised that you should not have your JACE exposed to the Internet. Consult the Niagara Cyber Defense page for more details. Using the ntpq utility program, you can query a JACE that is configured for NTP, and get a list of the peers known to the JACE and a summary of their state. For this use the -p option, and provide the IP address to the JACE. The command will look like this: ntpq -p 192.168.1.140 The output of the command will look something like this: The ntpq man page at ntp.org fully documents the details of the table above. Only a few details will be covered here.  The row that begins with * (asterisk), has been declared the system peer. The second row begins with a space, indicating that it is an unreachable peer.  The third column is for the stratum. Stratum 0 is an actual time source, like an atomic clock, that provides time to a stratum 1 NTP server. A stratum 2 server gets its time from a stratum 1 server. A stratum 3 server gets its time from a stratum 2 server, and so on.  Reach is a circular log buffer containing a set of eight bit-flags, expressed as an octal number. Convert octal to binary to determine the reach for the last eight attempts. For example, 376 converts to 11111110, which means that we failed to reach the server the last time, but the other 7 were successful.    Using the NtpPlatformServiceQnx spy page Right-click the NtpPlatformServiceQnx and select Views > SpyRemote.         As you scroll down the first section of interest is the one that shows the NTP Configuration File. After NTP has synchronized with reliable time servers for a significant amount of time, it will write the calculated drift (in PPM) to a file, such that it can initialize with this value on reboot. It will use this calculation of how far the clock drifts, to correct the clock in real-time, in increments too small for any application to detect.   NTP Daemon Drift 20.185   NTP Daemon Clock Stats is next. It reads what is in the clockstats file.
