I/NET events alarms stop updating in EcoStruxure Building Operation

Issue After upgrade of Building Operation and / or I/NET, I/NET alarms and events have stopped updating within WorkStation. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation, TAC INET Environment I/NET Seven 2.4x Integration with Enterprise Server EcoStruxure Building Operation 1.8 and above Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support Services for assistance. Cause Within the I/NET Seven SQL database table [InetDb].[dbo].[Events].[EventId], the EventId has not incremented correctly, so there is a missing EventId (causes unknown). Because of this missing EventId Building Operation waits at this missing ID to appear before updating its own event.db database. Since this ID will never show, no events will ever be passed through to Building Operation and effectively stops any I/NET events appearing within Building Operation WorkStation This EventId is seen in a registry entry called NspAmtEventId under the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CSI - Control Systems International\I/Net 2000\Configurations Resolution Current workaround is to manually edit this registry key NspAmtEventId value to: A value above the highest [InetDb].[dbo].[Events].[EventId].value - if the past events are not required. OR Increment its value by 1 if all past values are required to be retained. i.e. If NspAmtEventId = 82237682 typically only needs to be changed to 82237683 to correct this issue. If not then you should check the [InetDb].[dbo].[Events].[EventId].value After editing this registry value the Enterprise Server service needs to be restarted, after which events will then start to be processed by Building Operation. It should be noted if you use option 2 above that there will be some time for all this data to be updated within Building Operation and there may be some bogus (old) alarms appear, which should be taken into consideration before implementing this resolution.

Limit on number of simultaneous emails sent from Xenta Server

Issue When many trend logs are linked to the same time object for emailing via a Receiver Group, some of the trend logs may not be sent. Environment Xenta Server Xenta 511, 527, 555, 701, 711, 721, 731, 913 Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support Services for assistance. Cause The Xenta Server cannot send more than approx. 50-60 simultaneous emails before some are lost.  The limit appears to be dependent on the size of attached trend logs and the number of addresses in the Receiver Group list. Resolution For a single email address, split the trend logs into groups of no more than 40.  Link the logs in each group to a different time object and stagger the times at which they are sent.  If the Receiver Group definition contains multiple email addresses, reduce the number of trend logs in each group accordingly.

Changing the Address on a Legacy NPR

Issue Needing to change the IP address on a Legacy NPR. Environment All versions of I/Net Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support Services for assistance. Cause When the IT department changes a subnet or network setting that prevents the device from communicating to I/Net. Resolution There are two ways to change the IP address on the Legacy NPR. 1. This can be done on a Direct Connect by creating a new configuration called NetPlus Router. 2. Make this active and connect the CBL 072 to the upper left connection on the back of the device. 3. Start I/Net and when connected, go to NP Routers, the device will be online with the name that was previously in it or Wantap 1 which is the default. 4. Select it and then modify the IP address and put the new one in, save the changes and hit the okay button. The second way to do this is from the Host PC, 1. Right click on I/O Server and select Configure  2. Modify the Active Profile. 3. Select NPR Routers and follow steps 3 and 4 above.

7798C stops communicating after BIN file download

Issue 7798C stops communicating after BIN file download Is the 7798C supported in the older versions of I/NET Seven (1.14 and below). How to reset the 7798C hardware (i.e. place into boot mode) if no communication is possible with the 7798C    Product Line TAC I/NET Environment I/NET Seven 1.14 and lower I/SITE LAN 7798C Warning Electrostatic Discharge Required: Always discharge static electricity from your person by touching metal prior to handling any hardware. Failure to do so may result in damage to devices. Cause I/NET revision 1.14 and lower does not support 7798C and can mistakenly be assumed by the I/NET Host software as a 7798B.  If a software restore is completed to the 7798C with these revisions, it disables the device from communicating via the Controller LAN and disables any communication via the serial port with the Hand Held Console (HHC) software.   Resolution If you have downloaded the incorrect BIN file (i.e. 7798) to the 7798C, the handheld console software will not work, and hence, the device can not be placed back into a boot state, allowing the correct BIN file to be restored to the 7798C.  If the serial port is still configured/enabled for direct connection via the onboard TAP, this is the easiest solution to try a software restore to blank out 7798C with the correct BIN file. If either of these options are not available, the following steps can be performed very carefully directly on the hardware: Very Important:  Make sure you turn OFF the power to the 7798C unit. If you fail to remove power, this process could damage the board.  If unsure, please contact Product Support On the top edge of the board is the EPROM, and just below are two RAM chips. Between the EPROM and the two RAM chips are two mustard-colored capacitors (Labeled C2 & C3) If you short across each Capacitor, one at a time, this will take the device to boot. If you still have issues with the device, sending the 7798C in for repair is recommended. Once the device is communicating again, the correct firmware can be restored to the 7798C. At this point, you should be using I/NET Seven revision 1.17 or above.

Reset the memory in an I/NET ASC Controller

Issue ASC stopped communicating Continuous Lost/Restore Reset the memory in an ASC Controller Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET SubLAN Controllers All ASC Controllers Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support for assistance. Cause When the MR-AHU resides on a communication sub-LAN, it is susceptible to communication errors from external sources. These communication errors could result in corruption of the ASC's NOVRAM. When this occurs, the ASC will stop communicating, or will cause continuous Lost/Restore messages. For this reason, the ASC is provided with a means of clearing its NOVRAM. Caution: Clearing the MR-AHU memory causes the binary instruction set for the controller to be deleted. In order to reload the binary instruction set, you must have a TAC I/NET host with the appropriate UPD files, and the ASC Controller must be communicating through an interface controller (MRI, MCI, or I/SITE LAN). Resolution Prior to clearing NOVRAM of the ASC and you are using MR-VAV's and they have already been balanced, VAV parameters must be recorded (screenshot may be the quickest method). Follow the following steps to RESET the device  Remove power from the ASC. Set DIP switches 6 through 12 to the "On" position and restore power. Remove power again. Set DIP switches 6 through 12 to the "Off" position and restore power. Remove power again and reset the switches to their normal configuration. Normal communication should be restored to the ASC. If not, then the problem lies elsewhere. Once communication is restored, perform an "ASC Update" from the TAC I/NET host to restore the NOVRAM image to the ASC. Refer to the TAC I/NET System Operator Guide for ASC Update instructions.

SevenReports Error: "Error in command line parameters" when attempting to open report directly from Windows Explorer or Graphics link

Issue SevenReports Error when attempting to open report directly from Windows Explorer or Graphics link Error received: Error in command line parameters: Report Type: 255 Duration: 255 Error Text: C:\INETSevenData\Reports\xxxxxxxx.rpt   The Icon for SevenReports is incorrect: Environment SevenReports Windows7 Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support Services for assistance. Cause File association has some how become corrupt or it has been associated with the SevenReport.exe file after installing the SetupCrystalReportsXI.exe. Resolution In most cases the file association will occur automatically and there is no need to manually do this.  Best practice is to restart the computer after installation, this should stop this error from occurring. Should this error still occur then this will require manually repairing the .rpt file association within the registry. Edit the following Registry keys so they appear as shown below: 1. HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.rpt If there is an additional sub-key (folder) under the .rpt entry called UserChoice; then delete this key. 2. HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.rpt\OpenWithList If there are any other entries here they should be removed and this entry must match exactly as shown in this screen. 3. HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.rpt\OpenWith\Progids 4. Close the registry editor and Windows Explorer (if opened) 5. Re-open Windows Explorer, browse to the INET Seven Reports folder (default "C:\INET Seven Data\Reports") and see that the ICON has changed back to the correct type and that double clicking on any of the reports now opens correctly.  If not please contact Product Support.

Verify in Windows Registry all items are deleted after uninstall of I/NET Seven and MS SQL

Issue After an uninstall of I/NET Seven and MS SQL, you might verify in the Windows Registry that all the items were deleted. Having issues installing I/NET what can I look for. Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET all 2.4X versions Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support Services for assistance. Cause In some cases when re-installing, installing I/NET after a failed attempt or upgrading I/NET you may want to start fresh. After an uninstall of INET Seven and MSDE if items remain in the registry they will cause issues with future installations. Resolution Go to the bottom Task Bar and choose the “Start” button. Select the “Run” option and enter “Regedit” Once in the Windows registry go to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER, if the “CSI” entry is present delete this entry While still in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER look in the Microsoft File Folder for any “SQL” entries and remove them if they are present. Minimize the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder and open up the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE File Folder, if the “CSI” entry is present delete this entry. While still in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, go to the Microsoft File Folder and look for any “SQL” entries. If you find any delete then from this file folder. Caution:  Before editing the SQL registry items you should ensure that no other software using SQL is still installed - all software that is installed should be uninstalled prior to modifying any registry entries. See also, MSDE and Windows 7.

Disabling administrator rights messages in Windows 7 OS and above

Issue Software installation problems with Windows 7 OS and above Configuration problems also known as UAC / User Account Control These problems occur when you receive an error message stating that you do not have the correct administrative rights to continue. Product Line Andover Continuum, EcoStruxure Building Expert, EcoStruxure Building Operation, Satchwell MicroNet, Satchwell Sigma, TAC INET, TAC Vista Environment Windows 7 Windows 8 8.1 Windows 10 Server 2012 Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support Services for assistance. Cause Windows 7 and above user administrator privilege settings (UAC) Resolution The solution to this issue is to turn off the user admin settings before the software is installed by following these instructions: Go to Start > Control Panel. Set the view to "small icons" to show all Control Panel icons Click on "User Accounts." Make sure that the account used for installing the software is a full admin user. On this page, click on "Change User Account Control settings", a slider bar that starts with "Never notify" up to "Always notify" by default will be set to "Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer" Set it to "Never notify." This will disable all the admin blocks that pop up in installing and configuring software Once set, restart the PC and then continue with your software installation and configuration Once all is installed and working, the feature may be turned back on if required. Additional requirements for Windows server 2012 and Windows 10. Please note: this process may open the "Windows 10 Firewall up" For Windows Server 2012 and Windows 10, additional steps are required to disable User Account Control. Although the slider bar can be set to “Never Notify”, the User Account Control does not disable completely. The User Account Control can be disabled for any user by setting the system registry value “EnableLUA” to zero in the system registry under the registry key “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system”. A Windows registration file has been included in the Continuum 2.01 release in order to expedite these additional steps. Or the attached file EnableLUA.zip can be used, unzip and execute.  Supplement: Using the right click "run as administrator" instead of this is not the same. The right click will only run that .exe as an administrator and not the whole install/configuration package, i.e. SQL2005 manager will fail to run if you do not do as instructed above. You will always get an error stating that you do not have permission to run this program.  Alternate Windows 10 Admin. to User privilege for I/Net Seven:   Go to this path: C:\Program Files (x86)\ Inet Seven 1) Rename and move to a new folder these files.       A) INetIoSrv.exe.manifest       B) INetW.exe.manifest       C) If there is a file equalization client, then there is INetEqzMerge.exe.manifest to do this change on as well.  2) Change the DbCreate by doing this:       Another problem for non-admin users will be logging into and using DbCreate. A work-around for that would be to create a new login into the SQL database that could be shared among all DbCreate users and would provide the necessary rights.       Alternate Windows 7 Admin to User privilege for I/Net Seven:  See the attached Document and Manifest Files

How to import a large number of Individuals into an I/NET Access Control database

Issue Want to be able to import a list of individuals quickly without having to retype all the details from a spreadsheet or text file again into I/NET Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Seven Revision 2.xx and higher Microsoft Access 2003 Microsoft Access 2007 Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support Services for assistance. Cause Customers usually have a spreadsheet or database of employees and / or users which they want to quickly import into their I/NET Seven Access control database.  The process below describes how to do this along with its limitations. Resolution Process to import Individuals via the IDWorksView table using Microsoft Access 2003 / 2007 The import process will NOT update any existing data; it will only add new entries and leave existing entries as they were.  So this is typically a process used for a new installation.  If you are attempting to import into an existing Access control database with individuals then it is strongly recommended to backup your I/NET SQL database. It is also strongly recommended you test this in an ‘offline’ state, that is, it is not connected to any physical controllers until you are comfortable that the process provides the desired results. The same limitations that apply with ID Works (Refer to TCON 301 Chapter 5) apply to this import process. TAC I/NET Seven (not just I/O Server) must be running on the server specified in TAC I/NET Seven’s ODBC data source in order for records created or modified from ID Works to be downloaded to affected DPUs. ID Works does not allow you to add or modify multiple cards for a single individual. ID Works does not allow you to remove a card from an individual without deleting the individual record. You cannot disable an individual’s card without disabling the individual. You cannot create a new group or a new tenant.  All Tenant and Group information must already exist in I/NET You cannot make an individual’s record be DPU resident. You cannot assign a decimal card number to an individual. You cannot set an individual’s APB scheme (that is, hard, soft, or graced anti-pass back). You cannot assign a PIN to an individual. The steps to import are as follows: Download ZIP file containing necessary files here. If you are using Microsoft Access 2007 use the following files Format customer data into the Excel template (dbo_IdWorksView.xlt in the ZIP file) or provide this to the customer to complete the Employee details.  Pay attention to required data shown in the comments for each title cell. Open db1.mdb file in the ZIP file using Microsoft Access 2003 /  idworks.accdb if using Microsoft Access 2007. Double click (open) the table dbo_IdWorksView to establish the connection to I/NET on the respective machine.  You may be prompted for login details – you must use the ‘sa’ login and password installed on the PC. If successful you should see any individuals that already exist in the database (unless blank).  Close the table. If you are using Microsoft Access 2007 Click Here to view the changes for steps 6 though to 8. Right–click in any of the white space and select Import (or go to File>Get External Data>Import) Browse to the location of the Excel Spreadsheet, saved in step 2, containing the data to be imported.  Be sure to change the File Type to *.xls otherwise you will not find the file.  Select the file. Import wizard should appear, now select the following options within the import wizard: Select the Check box “First row contains column headings..” Select Next Select “In an Existing Table” and select the table from the drop down list – there should only be one there. dbo_IdWorksView. Select Next. Select Finish. Be patient – the process can take a few minutes based on the number of entries that you are trying to import.  Once imported you should receive a message indicating that the import was completed.  Select OK. If you have images referenced in your import file, be sure that the Images are in place before modifying ANY individual in I/NET.  Otherwise the image path will be deleted.  The next step is to get the imported data downloaded to the controllers. For each SLI perform a station SAV and station restore – it may take some time for all this information to be downloaded to the DPUs and may fail in some instances.  You may also notice the system slow up for some time (hours) until all of this information has been successfully downloaded to the controllers.  It may also be necessary to force the data into the DPU by performing staggered DPU Restores on specific doors that are experiencing incorrect functionality. There is also a way to realize this function using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express instead of Microsoft Access. See How to Import a Large Number of Individuals from Excel to I/NET SQL Database at One Time for more information.

Shrink I/NET SQL Database when it becomes too big

Issue I/NET SQL database becomes too big affecting the performance of I/NET. Backup and restore of the I/NET SQL database take several hours to finish. Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET SQL Server Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support for assistance. Cause There are two files for the SQL database for I/NET: InetDb.mdf and InetDb_log.ldf. The InetDb.mdf file is the data files of the database, where all of the tables, indexes (other than full-text catalogs), stored procedures, etc. are stored. The .mdf is the primary data file for the whole database. While The InetDb_log.ldf is the transaction log. The transaction log is where all transactions are written to. Sometimes it will be the InetDb_log.ldf growing too big. Since it is less important, it can be shrunk without any impact on I/NET operation or any data/events/transactions lost. Resolution Be sure to backup the database first with DBCreate or Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Open the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the database. Right click on InetDb and choose Property. Set Recovery model to Simple in the Options. Right click on InetDb and choose Tasks-->Shrink-->Files. Choose the File type to Log, and keep the Shrink action in Release unused space. Check the file size of InetDb_log.ldf. It should have decreased in size.

"Could not create remote directory" or "Failed to establish connection with the target device" when upgrading/downgrading a Xenta 5/7/9xx

Issue Error: "Could not create remote directory" or "Failed to establish connection with the target device" when trying to upgrade/downgrade a Xenta 5/7/9xx controller     Product Line TAC INET, TAC Vista, Satchwell MicroNet Environment Xenta Servers Xenta 511, 527, 527-NPR, 555, 701, 711, 721, 731, 913 XBuilder Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support for assistance. Cause This error can be caused by any of the following reasons: Trying to downgrade a Hardware version 2.x Xenta Server device to System Program version 2.10 or older Internet Options are configured to use a proxy server IP communication is not properly established due to incorrect IP settings, a bad cable or a faulty device The controller is 5.1.8 or lower and Microsoft KB 2661254 or KB 2661254-V2 is installed on the PC. In this upgrade Microsoft has changed the criteria for the certificate Key. Service packs are available on the extranet to correct this issue. Download blocked because of other Windows updates SSL 2 and 3 is not activated Resolution First, establish that the System Program that you are attempting to load is compatible with hardware version of the device. The older HW 1 versions can be upgraded to System Program 5.1.2 or older. Only system program versions 2.2.0 and newer can be loaded into devices that are hardware version 2.X. Hardware Version System Program 1.0 5.1.2 or older 2.X 2.2.0 or newer 3.X 5.1.6 SP1 or newer Note: Hardware version 1 devices are not labeled as HW 1 since only one version of hardware existed at the time. Hardware devices can be identified by the lack of any hardware version printed on the Neuron ID sticker. Note: If running the firmware update software, ensure you are running as an administrator. Next, check to verify that IP communications are configured properly and are functional: Check the IP address defined in XBuilder Verify a good connection to the IP port of the controller (10Base-T port on the far right) with a crossover cable. If that is all good, then a reformat of the controller may be necessary. Connect via Hyperterminal to the unit and at the dsh> prompt type format and press enter command . This will recreate the directory structure of the controller and allow you to attempt the upgrade/downgrade again. Finally, verify that the Internet Options are not configured to use a proxy server or, if they are, temporarily change them as follows: To temporarily change this setting follow these steps: In Internet Explorer select the Tools Menu and select Internet Options. Or select Internet Options from your Control Panel. Go to the Connections tab. Click the LAN settings button. Uncheck the Use a proxy server for your LAN box. Click Ok in the LAN settings window and the Internet Options window. Complete the System Program download. Return to the Internet Options window and re-check the Use a proxy server for your LAN box in the LAN Settings found in the Connections tab. Another Matrix explaining the compatibility of each with Vista versions can be found in Xenta-Server-firmware-versus-Vista-Server-versions If you have the Xenta FW 5.1.8 or lower and KB 2661254 or KB 2661254-V2 were installed during a Windows Update you will need install the service packs. These new service pack builds have been released and are available on the extranet. See TPA-VSTA-12-0028.00 - TAC Xenta Servers, Not Possible to Download Firmware for more info. Another issue has been reported to support relating to the bit length of the Xenta server boot certificate. The Xenta server installer uses a 512 bit key length of the boot certificate, and Windows in some instances can be configured for a 1024 bit length certificate. If the issue still exists after removing the above mentioned Windows Updates, or if you are getting this error and the Windows Updates are not on your machine. Download the attached tool, Allow Weak Certificates.zip, and execute the file, chose "Allow Weak Certificates", and "Update".   Here is what the tool set: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\OID\EncodingType 0\CertDllCreateCertificateChainEngine\Config] "EnableWeakSignatureFlags"=dword:00000002 "minRSAPubKeyBitLength"=dword:00000200 If taking the preceding steps fails to resolve the issue then see the following articles for additional steps that can be taken: Xenta Server "Run" light is solid red, with no communication via Ethernet,  Fail to upgrade the TAC Xenta Server system software (firmware)  An unexpected error occurred while downloading using a Xenta Server

How to allow double badge access functionality to Individuals

Issue Customer requires the functionality for Individuals  to double badge (present their credentials twice) to gain access. Product Line TAC INET Environment Access Control Warning This article describes a feature that is not standard functionality within the Product Line.  It has been provided to allow customers the option to use this requirement.  Pay particular attention to the Prerequisites of the required programming. Cause Customer application requirement Resolution Prerequisites: LIMITATIONS: As this is not a standard access control feature within I/NET, it uses custom programming, which therefore reduces/limits the standard features within I/NET The description provided below must be set for ALL individuals with access to the door that requires double badging.  It does NOT cater to custom individual use.  It may be possible to provide additional programming to achieve this, but this is not detailed in this article. Door Automatic Time Schedules (ATS), if applied, can be overridden if the door reader is badged during the scheduled operation.  The functionality of this feature uses event-driven programming, which in its nature is single-shot programming and therefore relies on the following:  Requires reliable communication between SLI/MCI (779x) and the SCU (Door Controller).  The door reads from the SCU must be received by the SLI/MCI to activate the badge/read occurrence. Requires SLI/MCI (779x) CPU loading below 65%. LAN Load of this controller should be below 2%; anything above this can cause the operation to fail/be inconsistent.  Removes the standalone capability of the Door controller (SCU) POINTS The points required for each door that requires this functionality are Door Reader (Internal DO door point as required in I/NET)  Door Strike (External DO Point) must be programmed within the controller Door Intermediate (Internal DO Point). :: Scan Rate 1 second Door Read Count (Internal AO Point). :: Scan Rate 1 second I/NET Controller SummaryI/NET Controller Summary Note: The address order, as shown in the screenshot above, is important for the overall operation.   That is Read Count must be at a lower address than all other points.  Next the Intermediate point.  The Strike and Reader addresses are fixed by I/NET but must be at a HIGHER address than the Read count and Intermediate points.    DOOR Intercard Interval (sec) should be set as low as possible.  This allows the card to be present within this time setting (minimum is 1 second) Door strike: Configuration of the door/reader must have this set to either. None: When a valid read is received, no action is sent to the strike Exit: Only when an Exit read to Request to exit (REX) is received by the door does it activate the strike.  Strike duration (sec): Should be set 1 second above the scan rate of the Intermediate / Read Count points above.  In this case, it is set to 2 seconds.  Note: this does not have any bearing on how long the strike remains "unlocked" Door editorDoor editor Programming DOOR No additional programming is required for the door apart from the details provided in the above prerequisites.  ACCESS INITIATED CONTROL (AIC) Add an AIC that will trigger the Intermediate point on a "valid" reader entry for the nominated door. Select the Target point (DR1 Intermediate) Select either Use all individuals in the range which will trigger this action for all individuals.  Note: If selected Individuals are needed to activate this feature, then additional programming is required and not detailed in this article.    Select Reader entry to START the target point  Select which Doors are to trigger this action Access Initiated Control editorAccess Initiated Control editor POINTS From the screenshots below, it can be seen that: Point DR1 Read Count has two extensions: Calculation (C)  Operation: The result of this calculation is displayed on the DR1 Read Count point.  The calculation adds the value of itself (P0) DR1 Read Count and point (P1) DR1 Intermediate point (where 0=OFF 1=ON), the result of which is then multiplied by the NOT (~) the value of (P2) Door Strike (where sec = 0 Unlk = 1). Result: DR1 Read Count is incremented by one on each valid read.  The counter is reset (zeroed) when the Door Strike is energized.        Event Definition (EV)   Operation: When the point DR1 Read Count crosses the value 1 (the value of 2 represents the double (2) badge), Sequence/Action #1 is triggered.  From the above Event Definition (EV), this runs Sequence/Action Num 1, which is shown below:  Operation: When triggered by the (EV) above, the Door Strike is immediately "Stop"  (Unlocked); after a 5-second delay, the Door Strike is "Start" (secured). Note: The delay of 5 seconds on line #2 determines how long the strike remains in the unlocked state.  Modifying this value will shorten or extend the unlocked state.     Point DR1 Intermediate has only one extension: Calculation (C)  SUMMARY OPERATION A valid card read is presented to the reader; this triggers AIC to turn point DR1 Intermediate to ON. This increments DR1 Read Count by 1 to the value of 1 via its Calculation (C) extension The additional card read repeats Steps 1 and 2 above;  DR1 Read Count value increments to a value of 2. Event Defintin (EV) high-value crossing (>1) triggers Event Sequence #1 Event Sequence #1 unlocks Door Strike 1 and, after a 5-second delay, relocks (secures) Door Strike 1 point. This relock (secure) of Door Strike 1 zeros the DR1 Read Count value via its Calculation (C) extension.  ATTACHMENTS - for reference showing the above details  I/NET Controller SAV file (DCU0201.zip) Backup InetDb (SQL.bak).  (InetDb_DoubleBadge.zip)

Security Expert DSS Error: Cannot find ID for Credential Type where Name = User ID

Issue DSS error occurs while importing users into Security Expert Product Line EcoStruxure Security Expert Environment Continuum Transition Tool I/NET Transition Tool Data Sync Service Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support for assistance. Cause The Data Sync Service settings file contains a mapping for a credential named “User ID” but cannot find the User ID credential type. The User ID credential was not created before starting the Data Sync Service.  It is important to determine if the site is using user PINs and whether they are all unique before selecting the following option in the transition tools.   By default, SX does not allow duplicate PINs. A unique PIN is a requirement for signing into intrusion keypads with only a PIN number. Resolution Option 1: The site does not have user PINs in the legacy database or PINs are unique. Stop the data sync and transition services Uncheck the 'Allow PIN Duplication' option Click the 'Create Data Sync Service Settings File' button below   Delete the export history of Users   Start both Data Sync and Continuum Database Transitions services. (All users will get exported again) Option 2: The site uses PIN numbers and there may be duplicates. Keep the “Allow PIN Duplication” option checked In Security Expert, Go to Global | Sites| Site Defaults Tab Scroll down and expand the Site security enhancement section Enable the top 3 checkboxes (Require dual credential...; Auto Populate User ID... and Allow PIN duplication)   Click Save.
