Access Expert Elevator Access Levels

Issue Access Expert Information is needed for Elevator Access Levels Product Line EcoStruxure Access Expert Environment Access Expert V3 Hosted Cause Access Expert Elevator Access Level configuration information  Resolution Overview The Elevator Access Levels are used to determine when a person can access certain floors. Floors can be assigned scheduled access within the Elevator Access Level to determine what floors a person has permissions to gain access to.   Elevator Access Levels Elevator Access Levels use the same Schedules as other aspects of the Keep system. Floors can be added by individual numbers or by groups of numbers with a “-“ between them.  It is important to note that People are not added to the Elevator Access Level. People are added to the Access Level for either traditional reader-controlled points such as doors or gates while at the same time being granted access to the reader controlling elevator access. This approach means that management of where and when a person can go places can all be controlled from one page.   Creating Elevator Access Levels To create a new Elevator Access Level: Select the ‘Access Configuration’ tab. Choose the “Elevator Access” button From the menu. Click “Add Elevator Access Level”. Enter a Display Name. (OPTIONAL) Select a Default Reader Mapping. Select “Add Elevator Floor Entry”. Select a Schedule. Enter the desired Floor Numbers. Click “Save” or “Save & Close”.   The Default Reader Mapping will apply the floor names assigned at the Elevator Reading Page to all readers that use the Elevator Access Level. This also allows for the selection of floors for the Elevator Access Level based on the named floors.   To Assign an Elevator Access Level: Select the ‘Access Configuration’ tab. Select “Access Levels” from the Menu. Open the desired Access Level. Select “View Elevator Access”. Click “Add Elevator Access Level Entry”. Choose an Elevator Access Level & associated Elevator Reader.  Click “Save” or “Save & Close”.   It is important to note the flow of the different type of Access Levels: Elevator Access Levels are applied to Access Levels. Access Levels are applied to People.

In OPRIF 11.6, the "database save" command does not work.

Issue In OPRIF 11.6, the "database save" command does not work.  When pressing "S" for save, the first prompt asks for the drive letter where the files will be saved (i.e. C drive).  After pressing enter, the second prompt requests a filename.  An eight-digit filename can be entered.  A file path is optional.  After pressing enter, a new screen should appear as the database save begins.  However, after pressing enter, the screen returns to the main database menu. There are no errors reported. Environment DMS OPRIF 11.x Cause A graphic screen is missing from the installation of OPRIF.  After entering the driver letter and filename for the database save, a new screen should appear.  The graphic file is requested but doesn't exist.  As a result, the database save command aborts and returns to the main database menu screen. Resolution The simplest solution is to re-install OPRIF 11.6 "overtop" the existing installation.  The missing file(s) will install.

PCT stuck in "Transferring backup files" or "Transferring import/export file" when run in server mode

Issue When using Project Configuration Tool (PCT) in Server mode and connecting from a remote PCT client, it is not possible to transfer backups or exports. The transfer gets stuck, and a complete reboot is required to start using the project again. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Project Configuration Tool (PCT) Cause In the "Settings for Project Configuration Tool" the Notification and Listening port defaults to 0. Port 0 means that PCT will ask the OS for an available port. But if network policies prevent PCT from communicating using that port, PCT cannot detect that.  Resolution In "Settings for Project Configuration Tool" Change the port number for the Notification port and Listening port to a port that is available to use.

Controller randomly cool starts

Warning Hazard of Electric Shock: Remove all power from all devices before removing any covers or doors of the system. Disconnect power at the device and at the power source. Electrostatic Discharge Required: Always discharge static electricity from your person by touching metal prior to handling any hardware. Failure to do so may result in damage to devices. Issue ACX5740 controller randomly re-boots and restore from flash, the controller does not attempt warm start but instead jumps directly to cool start.  Product Line Andover Continuum Environment Continuum ACX 2 Controller Continuum ACX 4 Controller Continuum Net Controller II Cause Door striker creating an electrical spike that can travel back down the output wiring to the controller. When this happens, it generally will not damage any of the hardware in the controller but it could cause it to reset or cause its memory to get scrambled. The fact that the controller does not attempt warm start but instead skips directly to cool start is a strong indication that memory corruption is taking place, on startup, the controller verifies RAM memory is intact and will not attempt warm start otherwise. Resolution Install Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV ) to add voltage suppression to the controller's output driving the door striker. (Put the MOVs at the end device and not the controller end)   Another option is to add an isolation relay to keep the electrical noise from reaching the controller's output.

Regular increase of LonWorks traffic

Issue With the same time interval as the trend log, the traffic on the LonWorks network increases for a short period. This can be seen by a spike in the LPA log when viewing the bandwidth. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Workstation Lonworks Cause The LonWorks traffic increases with the same time interval as the trend log. Resolution To ensure we could log values in the trend log from a LonWorks device, a subscription is set up about 30 seconds before the value should be logged. After the value is logged, the subscription is removed until the next log interval. A good solution to flatten a spike caused by this issue is to stagger the times of the LonWorks trend logs. This will ensure the subscription for all the logs do not happen at the same time.

Reading registers and temperature unit conversion on SpaceLogic TH90x sensors

Issue When setting up the TH90x series thermostats there are communication limitations.  Unable to pull multiple registers.  Some registers are only in Celsius, regardless of the display setting. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation, Field Devices Environment SpaceLogic TH903 Series Thermostat SpaceLogic TH907 Series Thermostat Cause The TH903/TH907 does not support multiple/block register reads in Modbus.    The following parameters will show their value in Celsius only via Modbus communication regardless of whether the display is showing values in Celsius or Fahrenheit:   All SpaceLogic Series TH9xx thermostats Register 30 - Function Code 3/6 - Room Temperature (from the remote Modbus Controller) Register 1 - Function Code 4 - Actual Room Temperature 7 Day Programming Versions of TH900: Register 26 - Function Code 3/6 - 7 Day program schedule, heat set-point Register 27 - Function Code 3/6 - 7 Day program schedule, cool set-point Register 30 is used by the customer to override the current temperature. This register expects a value to be written to it every 15 seconds. If no values are written to it every 15 seconds, then it will populate with our internal temperature sensor value. Network Port Scanning causes Continuum controller to fail

Issue Continuum NetController fails when a port scanning tool runs a network port scan on the ethernet network where the controller is connected. Some of the controller failures that have been reported to Product Support Services include controller scan locked, controller resetting, hanged, stuck in bootloader etc. In some cases the controller may be running but exhibiting very strange symptoms due to its tasks scheduling being disturbed by the scanning traffic and/or due to memory corruption. Product Line  Andover Continuum   Environment Continuum CX Gen 1 Continuum Net Controller II Continuum ACX 2 Controller Continuum ACX 4 Controller Continuum bCX4040 (BACnet) Continuum bCX4000 (Router) Continuum bCX9640 (Infinet)   Cause The legacy Continuum controller's network stack is not able to handle some of the packets generated by network scanning tools, most such tools explicitly point out that older internal systems may not be able to handle the port scanning traffic and may fail during the process.  The controller error log may show some variation of the following errors...   219 I 08/10/2024 13:14:53.35 0xbadd0018 0x00002500 0x001783f0 0x40602004 0x0017eeb4 Reset (Spurious interrupt)   4914 I 09/14/2022 09:00:54.00 0xbadd0002 0x00002600 0x02001bd4 0x48082600 0x020ffbb8 Reset (access error) Resolution The Continuum NetControllers are now legacy systems no longer in active development, therefore, the only known solution is to add  the controller's IP address to the tools white list so that no port scanning packets are directed to the controller.   It is important to note that NONE of the Continuum NetControllers listed above use Windows or Linux based OS, this makes them less vulnerable to the typical hacker attacks.    Andover Continuum is a legacy Schneider Electric product. We strongly encourage upgrading your system to the more secure and feature-rich platform, EcoStruxure Building Operation.

Screen Brightness Issue on White TRCs

Issue The first batch of White TRCs (produced in 24H1) could appear too bright in some low-light level situations. All future batches (post 24H1) do not have the issue. See the precise list of affected serial numbers in the appendix section below. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment SpaceLogic Touchscreen Room Controller Cause The housing color is set in the device’s manufacturing configuration to tell it what color the screen bezel is (black or white). White TRCs produced with an incorrect housing color will read a higher value for light level. This has a direct impact on the backlight dimming levels, and the only effect will be the screen staying brighter in dark rooms. Resolution Customers experiencing brightness issues may simply adjust the backlight brightness parameters to a lower value, which are configurable in the TRC configuration screens and via BACnet/Modbus. This would reduce the overall brightness of the devices immediately, without fixing the housing color. We recommend going with a permanent fix, by setting the housing color via the USB port. The steps to fix this permanently would be: Connect USB-C cable to TRC Log in as an administrator into the TRC’s configuration screens (to enable USB connection) Open a terminal app like hyperterm or putty, with settings: Speed (baud): 115200bps Data bits: 8 Stop bits: 1 Parity: None Paste in the command: #001000061009FE00009C! Device responds: #000E00071009FE0051! To confirm or test, paste in the command: #000C00001009FEE8! Device responds: White housing: #001200011009FE000000F9! Black housing: #001200011009FE000001FA! Examples Below is an example of 4 white TRCs: The two (2) outermost devices are too bright (leftmost and rightmost white TRCs). The two (2) devices in the middle have been corrected to show adequate brightness. Appendix Since the Touch Room Controller’s serial number includes the date code, knowing whether a unit is impacted is very straightforward. Follow these instructions to determine if the unit of interest is impacted: Retrieve the serial number from the unit you suspect has the incorrect housing color. Example: FL24075TRC00002 Examine the serial number date code, wrapped between the “FL” and “TRC” substrings. Example: 24075 Decrypt the date code, using this logic: 24: year 2024 07: week 07 of 2024 5: day 5 of week 7 of 2024 If the date code is between the values 24074 and 24285, the product is impacted. Products outside of this date code range are not impacted, and no fix to housing color will be needed.
