Export and import between different StruxureWare Building Operation versions.

Issue Is it supported to do an export from for example StruxureWare Building Operation version1.4 and import into version 1.6? Environment StruxureWare Building Operation Cause It is always allowed to export from an earlier version and import to a later version but not the opposite way. With one exception in StruxureWare Building Operation version 1.7 exports from version 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 will not be supported. The workaround if having a export file this old is to import it in version 1.6 and then export from there to 1.7. Graphic values not updating in a Xenta 911 network

Issue Values in graphics from Xenta and Lon devices under a Xenta 911 network are not updated. Some values show database values and some values are showed with red crosses. When clicking on the value in the graphic the value is shown correct.  Environment TAC Vista 5.9 with a Xenta 911 as Lon network interface. Cause This could happen if many Lon and Xenta devices under the Xenta 911 is offline. When Vista do a online poll for a Xenta or Lon device and don't get a reply the communication will be halted for 3 seconds because of retransmission and time outs. This would not be a problem if a Loytec interface was used as it can handle more then one communication thread at the time but the Xenta 911 only use one communication thread. In this case it is possible to see the correct value when clicking on it in the graphic as that is a user command with much higher priority than updating values in a graphic have. Resolution Try to minimize the number of offline devices which reside under a Xenta 911 network in the Vista database as these devices will slow down the communication on the Lon network.

'Com Addr' does not appear in list of SE7000 parameters

Warning Electrostatic Discharge Required: Always discharge static electricity from your person by touching metal prior to handling any hardware. Failure to do so may result in damage to devices. Issue 'Com Addr' does not appear in list of SE7000 or SER7000 parameters, even when a BACnet or wireless network card is fitted. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Expert Environment SmartStruxure SmartStruxure Lite Cause 'Com Addr' only appears in the list of parameters when the controller recognises that a BACnet or wireless adapter card is fitted.  If the parameter does not appear even when a card is fitted, there is a problem with the card, the connector or the controller motherboard.  Resolution Remove the front cover of the controller and check that a BACnet or wireless adapter card of the correct type is fitted (there are several variants - see the table below for details).  The BACnet/wireless card is piggybacked onto the controller motherboard via a plug and socket and two supporting pillars. If a card is fitted, remove it and check for bent pins on the plug, signs of damage to the motherboard or daughter board (e.g. scorching), or dry solder joints on the plug or connector. It may be possible to carefully straighten out any bent pins on the plug, but any other form damage is not repairable by the user and the whole comms card/ controller assembly should be returned for repair under warranty   Communication Boards Part Number Description Compatibility VCM7000V5045W Wireless communication card SE7000 Series room controllers VCM72000V5045P Wireless ZigBee Pro communication card SE7200 Series room controllers VCM7300R5045P Wireless ZigBee Pro communication card SE7300 Series room controllers with RH VCM7300T5045B BACnet communication card SER7300 Series room controllers VCM7300V5045B BACnet communication card SE7200/SE7300 Series room controllers VCM7300V5045P Wireless ZigBee Pro communication card SE7300 Series room controllers without RH VCM7600V5045B BACnet communication card SE7600 Series room controllers VCM7600V5045P Wireless ZigBee Pro communication card SE7600 Series room controllers without RH VCM7607V5045B BACnet communication card SE76x7 room controllers (with RH options)  VCM7607V5045P Wireless ZigBee Pro communication card SE7600 Series room controllers with RH

Fail to upgrade from 1.4 to 1.5 (ESDatabaseUpgradePrepare returned: -1)

Issue When trying to upgrade the database, the following error occurs: ESDatabaseUpgradePrepare returned: -1 Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Enterprise Server Automation Server Cause There is an issue with System default workspace_copy in StruxureWare Building Operation v1.4 that can cause an upgrade to fail. When the ES Installer fails  ("ESDatabaseUpgradePrepare returned: -1"), you have to localize the "dump.log" file on disk: C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric StruxureWare\Building Operation 1.5\Enterprise Server\db_backup\dump\dump.log and check if this file contains an error message in this style: WARNING: Error: Type_Error (0xd001a), module Impex(57), moduleCode 0, dispString "~/System/Domains/Builders/Workspaces/System default workspace_copy", techString "Cannot find declared instance in parents type." and then this: ERROR: Exception encountered while reading db objects or writing objects to dump file: RecoverableException: d:\dev\rb-dev-dbexport142-system\source\packages\commons\components\C3Po\utilities\impex\source\ImpexContext.cpp(248) Error: Type_Error (0xd001a), module Impex(57), moduleCode 0, dispString "~/System/Domains/Builders/Workspaces/System default workspace_copy", techString "Object is not populated with a declared instance template!" NOTE: In this example we use the domain name "Builders" and workspace name "System default workspace_copy" in your case this names can be different since it is a user that creates and names this instance. Resolution As you can see in the Error above ""~/System/Domains/Builders/Workspaces/System default workspace_copy"," the issue lies with System default workspace_copy that is related to the domain "Builders".   The copy paste issue has corrupted the workspace and only way is to remove the whole domain "Builders" and then upgrade. In your case the domain name and the workspace name can be something different since this is a name you choose when creating a domain and/or a workspace. For now we do not have a fix for this defect but the above workaround is valid.

Is it possible to have a binding to, and transfer a value to a variable that have the backup flag set?

Issue The customer wants to have a binding and transfer a value, but also wants to have backup set on the receiving variable in the TAC Xenta device. Environment TAC Vista TAC Xenta 280/300/401 Cause Setting the Backup flag will make the variable be written into the flash memory every time the value is written. Doing this on a value that is regularly transferred will damage the flash memory, as it has to write all the time. Input and output options for Multical 602 Heat Meter

Issue What are the input and output options for the Multical 602 heat meter? Product Line Field Devices Environment Standalone LonWorks M-Bus Cause The current datasheet, F-27718-2, for the Multical 602 & Ultraflow 54 Heat Meter is not clear about what input and output options are available and how they can be combined. Resolution The Multical 602 can be supplied with two internal modules - a top module with clock backup, pulse outputs or M-Bus and a base module with M-Bus or Lonworks.  Either or both modules may be omitted. There are several options for both the top and base modules. Use the Order Specifications chart in section 8 of the datasheet to place the initial order.  Section 9 of the datasheet lists the individual parts, if you want to modify the meter later. The current datasheet, F-27718-2, lists four top modules with pulse outputs.  Of these, only one is now available -  MAPULSEOPTOPC  c/w RTC + Hourly Data Logger + 2 Pulse O/Ps + Scheduler. MAPULSEOPTOPA, MAPULSEOPTOPB and MAPULSEOPTOPD are all obsolete. It is possible to combine any of the available top modules with any of the available base modules.  However there are restrictions on the power supply with some combinations.  See the following table: Top-> Base     ˅ without top module MAPULSEOPTOPC MAMBUSTOP without base module Battery or Mains Battery or Mains Battery or Mains MAMBUSBASE Battery or Mains Mains only Mains only MALONBASE Mains only Mains only Mains only MA4-20BASE Mains only Mains only Mains only Mains supply options: MA230VSUPPLY or MA24VSUPPLY Battery supply option: MABATTDCELL

Read-only or Read/Write status of AVs in Room Controller device created in MPM

Issue When a Room Controller device is created under an MPM using one of the predefined devices in Building Expert, a number of its BACnet objects are mapped to AVs in the MPM. It is not possible to tell from the AV properties if the BACnet objects are read-only or read/write. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Expert Environment MPM SmartStruxure Lite Cause When a Room Controller device is added under an MPM using one of the predefined devices in Building Expert, a number of its BACnet objects are mapped to AVs in the MPM.  The BACnet objects made visible to the MPM are a small subset of the total number of BACnet objects in the device and consist of several different BACnet types, some of which are read-only and others are read/write.  Regardless of the BACnet type, they are all mapped to AVs whose properties do not distinguish between read-only and read/write objects. Resolution There is little documentation available on the predefined devices found in Building Expert. The best source of information is in PIC Statements and BACnet - Integration Guides. As an example I will use the SE8600UxB room controller. The "SE8600 Series BACnet - Integration Guide" is available on Exchange Download Center. In the MPM we have created a Lua script which monitors the occupancy status of the SE8600 and under certain conditions sets it to UnOccupied then turns it off after a delay. For this to work we need to know which AVs we can monitor and write to. Among the AVs mapped to the MPM for this device are "Occupancy Command", "Effective Occupancy" and "System Mode", which would seem to be suitable. The "SE8600 Series BACnet - Integration Guide" lists hundreds of BACnet properties of various object types, only 12 of which are mapped to the MPM. These 12 properties all appear as AVs in the MPM, regardless of their original BACnet object type. Also, although the object tables in the document list the read/write status of most of the objects, they do not list it for the objects mapped to the MPM. The only way to find out is to scan through the various tables of objects until you find one whose name matches one of the AVs in our example. Make a note of which table it is in. In our example: "Occupancy Command" and "System Mode" are in the MV table "Effective Occupancy" is in the MI table On page 35, under "Summary for Integrators", there is this line: "AI’s, BI’s & MI’s are not writable and are typically only used for status". "Effective Occupancy" appears in the MI object table, so it is read-only. As "Occupancy Command" and "System Mode" are in the MV table they are read/write. This procedure is applicable to all the Room Controllers available via the "Add Devices" command in Building Expert.
