Using the pulse counter in SEC-TE (TE2)

Issue Having issues configuring the pulse counter on the SEC-TE (TE2) Environment SmartStruxure Lite Multi-Purpose Manager SEC-TE (TE2) Cause N/A Resolution Navigate to the ZVC object of the SEC-TE and change "Analog Input 3 Mode" to "pulse counting". The value in AI3 (the counter) will then be incremented every time the pulse goes from 1 to 0 regardless of how long that takes. However, to convert the value of the counter to a more meaningful reading (e.g. water flow), you would need to use a Lua script in the MPM.   To reset the counter, click on the "Reset" button   Possible issues while testing: Using the Binary outputs of the TE2 for testing purposes will cause the counter to display unreliable readings. In fact, any binary output that induces voltage in AI3 will in inaccurate readings due to the noise induced. Instead, The binary outputs of the MPM can be used for testing before deploying the equipment on site.

Seeing 0x00001427 errors in controller error log after a controller warm start.

Issue Seeing 0x00001427 Bad RTC chip errors in controller error log along with controller warm start errors. Controller error log contains entries similar to below.    01/01/1989 00:01:10.33 0x00001427       0x04070400       0x02028922       0x00000001       0x0000000                 HardwareErr__ Bad RTC chip 04/16/2011 09:47:24.93 0x00030000       0x00216500       0x00105c62       0x00000000       0x00000000                Warm start 01/01/1989 00:00:00.94 0x00001427       0x00201900       0x0011edba      0x00000001       0x00000000                 HardwareErr__ Bad RTC chip Environment Continuum Controllers Cause The error is a time related error but may not indicate that there is a physical problem with the controllers Real Time Clock (RTC). This can be due to an issue occuring on startup of a controller where there may be requests for time from COV updates. If that request comes in prior to the RTC clock coming up, it can post this error. The COV code will post this error and then try again later.  Resolution If this error occurs after a restart of the controller then this is more than likely a benign error and can be ignored. However, if it occurs when the controller hasn’t just restarted then it could be an actual fault with the RTC chip and may need to be returned for repair.

Changing the link number associated with the I/NET interface in the AS level integration to I/NET

Issue Multiple issues caused by changing the link after discovering devices. Duplicate entries of MCU devices under a sub LAN interface Deleting duplicate MCUs causes MCU devices to be removed from I/NET Environment Automation Server integrated to I/NET Cause Changing the link address of the I/NET Interface should not be done after devices are discovered. If you must change the link address, do so before you have added devices to the I/NET interface. Resolution Option 1 -  Remove all controllers from the I/NET interface. Change the link to the correct setting Re-discover the devices Option 2 - Determine whether the AS or the I/NET controller has the correct information. (This will require I/NET software) If the AS is more correct, perform a download to the controller if the I/NET controller is more correct, perform an upload to the AS

Multi Purpose Manager Daylight Savings Time for Australia

Issue Daylight savings do not take effect when it starts on 4th October Environment Multi Purpose Manager 2.15 and 2.16.    Cause Australia starts DST in October and ends in April of the following year. In North America and Europe, DST starts In March and ends in October or November in the same year. The built in DST feature in the MPM assumes that the "DST_Start_month" must be before the "DST_End_Month".  This issue will also applies to countries where the start of DST is towards the end of the year and DST ends the following year.  Resolution This issue has been reported to R&D. The following workaround can be used before this issue is fixed in a future MPM firmware.  1. Configure DST in the MPM to start in April and set DST to end in October. 2. Set the DST offset to -1 hour using the following Lua script in the MPM (add a Lua object and enter the following code)         if not init then            ME.CFG1_Time_Dst_Offset.value = -3600            init = 1         end     if not init then ME.CFG1_Time_Dst_Offset.value = -3600 init = 1 end

Assa Abloy Continuum Integration

Issue If using the Assa Abloy Integration for a Wireless Lock interface and pairing locks on Hub 11, only lock one is able to be paired at address 1 and functions correctly with older versions of software. No more locks can be paired after that although the Hub itself is able to handle more than one. Product Line Andover Continuum Environment Continuum Version 1.94 and above Cause The version of software that is used for the application needs to be the latest version as compared to the older version 2.1.7. When this version is used the Hub only allows one lock to be paired although it is set for Multiple Lock Configuration. Resolution When purchasing the applicable hardware from Assa Abloy, ensure that the version that is being sent out is the latest 10.2.28619.

After replacing Automation Server hardware the SNMP "msgAuthoritativeEngineID" changes

Issue After replacing Automation Server hardware the SNMP "msgAuthoritativeEngineID" changes, is this a possible security breach? Environment Automation Server SNMP Management console Cause This is intended behaviour and part of the snmpV3 implementation as described in RFC3414 2.2.1. msgAuthoritativeEngineID The msgAuthoritativeEngineID value contained in an authenticated message is used to defeat attacks in which messages from one SNMP engine to another SNMP engine are replayed to a different SNMP engine. It represents the snmpEngineID at the authoritative SNMP engine involved in the exchange of the message. When an authoritative SNMP engine is first installed, it sets its local value of snmpEngineID according to an enterprise-specific algorithm (see the definition of the Textual Convention for SnmpEngineID in the SNMP Architecture document [RFC3411]). Resolution The handling of this is not a StruxureWare Building Operation server activity. This is standard functionality as defined by the Automation Server's Linux platform and net-snmp protocol stack.

Will a small amount of AC voltage affect a Digital Input?

Issue A voltage between 50mV and 500mV at 50Hz is measured at the Digital Input and has raised concern as to it's affect on the Input. Environment b4, i2, b3, xP Modules, IOU modules. (anything with a Digital Input) Cause Concern over effect of induced voltage on the Digital Inputs. Resolution There is an RC filter on those inputs that should protect it at 50Hz for that voltage. The filter will protect down to 15Hz and the Digital Input will not turn on before 1.6V. Although this should not be a problem, and the RC filter should effectively cut this off before it hits the input circuitry, 500mV is still a substantial noise signal on an input and may be indicative of a grounding problem. It would be wise to try to eliminate this induced voltage.
