Menu pull downs missing from WorkPlace Tech 5.7.1 after installing the Belkin Bluetooth adapter.

Issue Menu pull downs missing from WorkPlace Tech 5.7.1 after installing the Belkin Bluetooth adapter. Environment WorkPlace Tech 5.7.1 Belkin Bluetooth adapter Cause For Visio 2007, un-check the box for Send to Bluetooth. For Visio 2003, un-check the box for COM add-ins. Resolution Field offices have reported an issue after installing the Belkin Bluetooth adapter for use with the MNB-ROAM-IA. The problem is that Workplace Tech menu pull downs are missing (Project, Application); additionally, all of the Workplace Tech options are missing from the Tools pull down ( Configure Communications, Browse Devices, WorkPlace Commissioning Tool, etc.) One result of this problem is that the user cannot re-configure WorkPlace Tech for LON communications, or any other BACnet communications. WorkPlace Tech 5.7.1 with Visio 2007 Open Visio 2007 Open the Tools Pull down. Select the Trust Center Select Add-ins. At the bottom of the screen, COM Add-ins is the default selection. Press GO. In the COM Add-ins box displayed, un-check the box for Send to Bluetooth. Click OK to apply. Close Visio. Open WPT, all menu items should be there. Workplace Tech 5.7.1 with Visio 2003 Open Visio 2003 Open the Tools menu. Select Options, then Security. Un-check the box for COM add-ins. Click OK to apply. Close Visio 2003. When upgrading a Vista from Vista 5.1.3 to Vista 5.1.4, make changes in the Lon network and download the Xenta master goes offline.

Issue When upgrading a Vista from Vista 5.1.3 to Vista 5.1.4, make changes in the Lon network and download it the Xenta master goes offline. This only when running the 911 in low bandwidth. Environment Vista 5.1.4 Cause In the Xenta 911 software version 5.1.4 changes are implemented to support extended characters. This means that when using Xenta 911 in low bandwidth, we need to download the node information to the Xenta 911 using a .cfg file instead of a .xml file. If you have a Xenta 911 with version 5.1.4 it waits for a .cfg file and if you do not have TAC Vista version 5.1.4, it cannot deliver a .cfg file. This means that customers that have upgraded to Vista 5.1.4 need to upgrade all of their Xenta 911s to 5.1.4 if any changes are done in the network. Resolution Upgrade the Xenta 911 to version 5.1.4. Update: This is solved in 5.1.5 and later versions.

Grant momentary release on a door without ability to modify points

Issue Grant momentary release on a door without ability to modify points Environment I/NET DPU Cause One application would be security guards. You want to grant the guards the ability to momentary - release any door, but do not want to give them the ability to modify points. Resolution Give them access to only graphic pages. These pages should have internal DOs or internal DIs . Since these discrete points are two state, they can be used to trigger event sequences that will only open the doors for brief periods. Last and of course not least, go to the guards host passwords (not your host password), and remove any function you do not want them to have. You will need "Live Graphic Page" and probably several other functions, so you will have to customize this set up to fit your situation.

Shrink the SQLite event and trend databases

Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support for assistance. Issue In some cases the event and trend database can grow really big although not all the space in the files is used Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment SQLite Building Operation Enterprise Server Cause Frequent inserts, updates, and deletes can cause the database file to become fragmented - where data for a single table or index is scattered around the database file. Running VACUUM ensures that each table and index is largely stored contiguously within the database file. In some cases, VACUUM may also reduce the number of partially filled pages in the database, reducing the size of the database file further. Read further information here: https://www.sqlite.org/lang_vacuum.html Resolution Stop the Enterprise Server Open SQLiteStudio (link to download) Select "Databases" --> "Add database" Select the event.db or trend.db file from the "historical" folder of the SmartStruxure database folder Execute the following command: vacuum;

Change routers from repeaters to configured to decrease network traffic

Issue Routers / i.Lons configured as repeaters pass everything and consume bandwidth causing throughput / slowness issues in your system. Environment LON physical layer L-IP routers Cause The cause of throughput/slowness issues in a network might be that it is bogged down with needless communication. Resolution Configure router ports as "Repeater" to avoid channel conflicts during the construction phase of a project. After all of the nodes are commissioned, configure all routers as configured routers so that they only pass what is necessary upstream. This is especially important if using i.Lon 1000s, 600s, or Loytec L-IP routers as they will pass that unneeded data onto the ethernet.

Trendlogs don't work after changing PC.

Issue PC was changed - for example because of a PC crash. Restored Vista and log backups. After that, logged data can be read, but no new values are logged. Environment Vista 5.1.7 Cause Vista 5.1.7 was installed and started on the new computer then the time on the computer was set to a future date by the IT department. During the time the PC clock was set to the future date values were logged. Then the time was set back to present time. Remote Alarm Manager settings are lost after upgrade.

Issue After upgrading Remote Alarm Manager 1.2 to 2.0 none of the settings site specific configuration is carried over and Remote Alarm Manager can't detect the license. Environment Sigma 4 Remote Alarm Manager 2.0 Cause The site has upgraded Remote Alarm Manager through several iterations over time, versions of Remote Alarm Manager prior to version 1.001 stored site configuration data with the source system data. For example in the C:\Sigma\Data\Remote Alarm Manager\ folder, current versions typically store the data by default in:- For Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Remote Alarm Manager. For later operating systems - C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\Remote Alarm Manager. Resolution There are two possible ways to resolve the issue:- After installation of the software run the Computer Configuration utility (this runs by default) and deselect (uncheck) the Windows Common Application Data checkbox on the "Data Location" tab and enter the path to the current Remote Alarm Manager data location. After Installing the software and running the Computer Configuration utility copy the setup.mdb and log.mdb files from the current location to the default location used by the software:- For Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Remote Alarm Manager. For later operating systems - C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\Remote Alarm Manager.
