How to Remove the Routing Tables in a Device or PC

Issue Remove the Routing tables from I/NET and Xenta 527 devices Host conflict or station conflict error messages displayed at the I/NET Host. Incorrect Links, Hosts and IP addresses that do not exist in your Network are shown when penetrating Network Configuration. Product Line Other, TAC INET, TAC Vista Environment I/NET IP Routers Xenta 527 Cause Host or station conflict errors can be caused by old information stored in a routing table. From time to time, it may be necessary to purge that information and allow the tables to be rebuilt automatically. The only way that routing tables can become corrupted is if a laptop was used to connect to the system from a different Network or from the Outside. Once connected, its IP table is broadcasted to the other devices like PCs and NPRs, thus populating the table with entries that does not belong or is non-existent for this location or system.  Resolution Managing I/NET Routing Tables   I/NET Host Workstation View the I/NET Routing Table See Viewing the routing tables on a PC using I/NET Seven for complete instructions. Delete a Single entry in the I/NET Routing Table Go to Start > Run Type Telnet and hit Enter Type open, hit the space bar, then enter the IP address of the PC Press Enter When the login comes up, type csi, hit enter Type LA  and hit enter to list all routing table entries Type ipdel xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx being the IP address of the device you wish to delete Press enter Clearing the I/NET Routing Table Shutdown the I/O Server Open Windows Explorer Browse to C:\INET Seven Data (or C:\Program Files\INET Seven) Delete the .dat files (you may want to save a backup to another location) Delete the routing table from any device listed as a Reference Host or the table will repopulate Start I/NET Other Method: See Bogus Links, Hosts and IP's in Netcon for instructions on using the delall command in Telnet     Xenta 527-NPR; Xenta 913; Xenta 527 Web Server (See Clear the IP routing tables of a Xenta 913)  Viewing the I/NET Routing Table View Connecting a serial cable to a Xenta 5/7/9xx controller to configure HyperTerminal to communicate to the Xenta Device. Click here to be linked to the TAC INET Seven Operator Guide.   A Reference Host is any TAC I/NET workstation, NPR, or Xenta 527/527-NPR that will serve as a source of IP addresses. Any of these devices attached to an Ethernet LAN can be used as a Reference Host. Each time I/O Server is started on a workstation, it provides the workstation’s IP address to each remote host designated as a Reference Host. I/O Server also requests and receives a list of all host IP addresses that are known to the remote host at that time. I/O Server must be running on the remote host for this address exchange to occur. I/O Server compiles and maintains a list of all the remote hosts that it learns about. Ultimately, all hosts in the network will know the IP addresses of all the other hosts. Ideally, you should determine 1 or at most 2 devices to serve as your Reference Host.  This device would ideally be a Xenta Server or an NPR, but a Host workstation that has I/O Server running 100% of the time will work as well.  All devices on the system will use this as a single Reference Host. No others are needed.  When the device comes online it will contact the Reference Host and get the site’s Routing Table.  The Reference Host can have an empty routing table.  Once the Routing Table is shared, Reference Hosts are no longer needed.  You can leave the single entry in place. This will allow a quick recover, in the event of a critical system failure. Here are a few reasons for using multiple Reference Hosts: Temporarily add a new device as a Reference Host on the Sites Reference Host or a workstation to aid in bringing it online A large site may desire to have 2 Reference Hosts in case one is offline when a device comes online. An I/NET site that spans multiple locations may wish to declare a local Reference Host for each building and a network Reference Host

"Tam32: Errors detected in file: filepath" when editing an imported Function Block program

Issue Tam32 error message appears when Editing a Function Block program. When editing the program, this error appears and elements are removed from the program. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Function Block/Menta Editor Found when files created in an older version are used in a newer version of StruxureWare Building Operation. Cause This error message is literal. The line indicated as an error is a corrupted part of the function block program. You can determine this line by editing the file in a text editor such as Notepad++ and viewing the indicated line. NOTE: These programs will continue to work as originally programmed. Resolution To identify the part of the program causing the error: Edit the Program that is in error When the message appears, note the line number and file before you press ok. Do not edit or attempt to save the program. Locate the file specified in the error message. In this case tempaut1 The AppData folder is usually hidden, so you will need to manually type the file path into Windows Explorer Edit the file with notepad++ or another text editor Find the indicated line and determine what type of object is in error. In this example, the line indicated in the error was 116. It is a comment. Method 1: Compare the error line to another other line of the same type in the document and correct any abnormalities. In this case, I removed an extra comma. If it is a Comment, note that @ = carriage return and should be left in, but remove any other symbols or uncommon characters from the comment. You may just want to replace all of the comment text between the : and } with filler text. DO NOT delete the line of code. Save the edited file to the desktop, be sure not to save it as a .txt If needed, right click>edit the program from the system tree and click OK when the error appears. Select File>Import Import the edited file saved on the desktop. Check to see if the changes you made have corrected the application and Save. Method 2: May be used if the build the file was created in is significantly different than the current build. Edit the program Copy the indicated tempaut file to the desktop Install the version of SmartStruxure which the function block was created on or locate a PC at an older revision Import the files to an AS or ES at the original build Edit the program Remove the objects in error. Export the edited files and re-import in the current build Add back any removed elements that are required for the program to function.

LMTools Licensing Administrator program is replaced with LMAdmin in Vista 5.1.8 or greater

Issue LMTOOLS was not installed on the computer that Vista 5.1.8 was installed on. Product Line TAC Vista Environment Vista LMTOOLS LMAdmin Cause The TAC Vista license administrator tool has been upgraded to LMAdmin, a web based license administration tool accessible using a web browser. Existing license files are compatible with the new LMAdmin tool that is included in the TAC Vista Server and TAC License installers. Resolution If the license server is not running as a service, Vista is unable to locate the license, or you need general troubleshooting help then see License troubleshooting in Vista 5.1.8 or greater. Flexnet License Admin   The default license file folder has changed with the new LMAdmin license tool. The new default license file folder is "C:\Program Files\Schneider Electric\License Server\taclic\licenses\". For 64-bit OS the default license path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\License Server\taclic\licenses\". The license server administration, LMAdmin, is installed as a web server and is accessible at http://localhost:8080 after the installation; a shortcut will also be placed in the start menu. The location of this shortcut can be found by going to Start > All Programs > Schneider Electric > TAC Tools 5.X.X > FlexNet License Admin. To check what your license file contains, how many seats are available for each program, and how many are in use click on the Concurrent icon.   To log into LMAdmin, click on Administration in the top right corner. The default login and password is admin/admin and it is recommended that this is changed after the installation is finished. User accounts can be managed in the Administration area, under the User Configuration tab. Click the New icon at the top of the window to add users. The edit button at the end of the row of each user will allow the user name and password to be changed. There is also a delete button to remove unwanted users. If the computer running the TAC Vista License server enters a power save mode, the license server may have to be restarted manually in Computer Management > Services and Applications > Services.   TAC License Setup It is recommended to use the "License Setup tool" in the start menu instead of the license popup dialog when specifying a license server name or license file location. The License Setup tool can be found here; Start > All Programs > Schneider Electric > TAC Vista Server 5.X.X. Note: When upgrading Vista from a version 5.1.7 or older to a newer version, the old license file path may still exist in the registry. This will not impact the license server in any way. The old path can be removed if you desire through the TAC License Setup. During the installation of TAC Vista Server and TAC License, any license files located in the old license file folder are automatically copied to the new license file location; the original files are not removed.

Defining the first Day of Week in Script or Function Block programming

Issue When numerically evaluating in a program, what day = 1? Is Sunday or Monday the first day of the week? Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Script Editor Building Operation Builder for Function Block Building Operation Function Block Editor Cause What is the first day of the week in EBO, this may be required when using ">" or "<" logic in the program. Resolution Script programs handle this differently from Function Block programs.  Function Block programs use Monday as the first day of the week and therefore assign a value of 1 to Monday. Refer to: WDAY – Week Day Script program uses Sunday as the first day of the week and therefore assigns a value of 1 to Sunday. Redundancy options for the Security Expert Server.

Issue Are there any redundancy options for Security Expert? Product Line EcoStruxure Security Expert Environment Security Expert Stratus everRun Cause Need to provide redundancy for the Security Expert Server. Resolution There are a couple of options for providing server redundancy that can be used with Security Expert. The first option would be to use a downtime prevention product such as Stratus everRun as a hot standby solution. The second option is having a secondary Security Expert server as a cold standby server, if the primary server fails/needs to be taken offline the Security Expert services on the cold standby server can be started to take over. This option is largely manual, there is no automatic switching between two servers with this configuration. There are also a number of considerations to take into account with this option: In this scenario the controllers would be programmed with 2 x event server IP addresses for the primary and cold standby server as a result only 1 server/set of Security Expert services must be running at a time, having both running and therefore the controller having 2 x valid paths back to 2 x different servers concurrently will cause issues with the upload of events, online status and downloads A suitable system/process would need to be put in place to ensure the databases are restored from the primary to the cold standby server There will be 2 different Security Expert servers running which will require 2 separate Security Expert Server license with the same feature set enabled on both Considerations will need to be made with regards to the name of the machine to ensure the Download and Event servers can run, either the machines must have the same name or the name of the server needs to be renamed when required to the name of the cold stand by server An operator would need to verify the state of programmable functions and services. If the primary server failed during the middle of the download when the cold standby server is up and completes a full download some functions/services may require manual starting.

IP address using DHCP with Modbus or BACnet over IP

Issue IP address using DHCP Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment IP network Cause Bacnet or Modbus IP loses communication Resolution The AS or ES may be configured using DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), this is usually set up using "Device Manager" See Troubleshooting AS configuration issues with IP address. However many other systems use fixed IP address and use the IP address to specify the controller or server. Thus it is usually best to use fixed IP addresses for the Automation Server and Enterprise Server, especially if using Bacnet or Modbus over IP NOTE When the IP address of an AS is manually changed, the IP address of the Bacnet or Modbus IP interface needs also to be manually changed

HotFix Rules

Issue HotFix best practices Environment Site with StruxureWare Building Operation Cause Is it supported to have a Hotfix applied to ES/Workstation, but not the AS? Is it supported to have different HotFixes applied to the same site? In other words, HotFixes can be applied to select AS, but can you have different HotFixes on different AS, with perhaps a different HotFix applied to the ES/WorkStation?   Resolution The hot fix readme details what is necessary to install a Hotfix, generally they can be mixed as necessary on the one site, if there is any dependency’s (i.e. you need to install WS with the ES) this again will be detailed in the HotFix readme file. Remember HotFixes are now consolidated (all in the one hot fix) and the build numbering of the HotFix shows this, i.e. 1.6.0.xxx is based on fixes consolidated in consolidation point 1, again the readme tells you which fixes are included. Also remember that you can only apply a hot fix when the build number is greater than the current installed build. As a general rule you should be able to have different hot fixes on a ES, on an AS and on Workstation. However, installing a new hot fix on top of a previous hot fix for any of these will remove the previous hot fix, if the read me file for the new hotfix doesn't specify that the previous hot fix is included. It will specify this not in terms of hot fix builds but in terms of fixes for ALM defect ID's. Therefore, one needs to look at the read me files for the combination of hot fixes used at any specific site to make sure all hot fixes needed are effective and not have been overwritten by a later hot fix. The above is true for read me files whether or not a hot fix is considered to be a consolidated hot fix or not. Note, the guidelines seem to imply that all hot fixes are consolidated, which is no true.   Version of firmware on an AS: Note: Not all HotFixes apply to all sites. HotFixes eliminate issues observed and defined in a particular defect.

HID card formats are supported by Continuum

Issue There is a need to know which card formats are supported by Continuum Product Line Andover Continuum Environment Access Control Continuum Cyberstation Cause There are many different card formats available from HID, so there is a need to know which formats that Continuum allows. Resolution Here are the formats that HID offers: 26-Bit Format: H10301 HID Proprietary 37-Bit Format: H10302 **** HID Proprietary 37-Bit Format with facility code: H10304 Corporate 1000 Formats HID Long Format Card Programming OEM Proprietary Formats (i.e. Continuum 37) 35-Bit Card Format Formats 1, 4, and 6 above are supported natively We support all the other formats (as custom cards) so long as the format does not exceed 64-bits and the format can be supplied or understood. (i.e. start/end bit of the site code, card number, etc.)   ****IMPORTANT Continuum supports a maximum of 32 bits for the Card Number field, any format above, such as the H10302, that defines more than 32 bits for Card Number field will only work if the card number range used at the site is between 1 and 4,294,967,295, any card number above 4,294,967,295 will NOT be read correctly by the controller. A possible solution for this limitation is to use the Extended Custom Cards feature supported ONLY in the ACX5720 and ACX5740 controllers.   More information about Extended Custom Cards https://community.se.com/t5/Building-Automation-Knowledge/Extended-Custom-Wiegand-features-available-for-ACX57xx/ta-p/1215
