Cause
Bacnet or Modbus IP loses communication
Resolution
The AS or ES may be configured using DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), this is usually set up using "Device Manager" See Troubleshooting AS configuration issues with IP address.
However many other systems use fixed IP address and use the IP address to specify the controller or server.
Thus it is usually best to use fixed IP addresses for the Automation Server and Enterprise Server, especially if using Bacnet or Modbus over IP
NOTE
When the IP address of an AS is manually changed, the IP address of the Bacnet or Modbus IP interface needs also to be manually changed
