Unable to log into the JACE-603/645 hardware with I/A Series R2 Admin Tool.

Issue Unable to log into the JACE-603/645 hardware with I/A Series R2 Admin Tool. Environment JACE-603, JACE-645 Cause The JACE 603 and JACE 645 are network controllers that can run either R2 or G3 Niagara applications when a corresponding license is installed.  These new boards are based on the QNX platform and no longer use the R2 “Admin Tool” for host-level configuration. Resolution Use I/A Series G3 Workbench 3.6.47 or later for all host (platform) configuration of a JACE-603 or JACE-645.  Refer to the Retrofit Board Niagara R2 Install and Startup Guide for details on how to commission and use with I/A Series R2.  The document is included with I/A Series G3 (docRetrofitBoardR2) 3.6.47 or later. WebStation timeouts using broadband cellular networks

Issue WebStation connection is unreliable when using a 4G (cellular) connection Auto logoff times are not obeyed  Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation WebStation 3.x Broadband Cellular Networks Cause WebStation creates a subscription with the Building Operation server, so it will attempt to connect every 10 seconds.  If this connection is removed/interrupted/ or no longer required for a period of 60 seconds, WebStation will force itself to log out.  This setting is currently fixed and cannot be adjusted.    Currently, there have been instances where this connectivity issue is seen when using, as shown below, a device with a broadband cellular connection attempting to connect to a Building Operation server that also connected to the same/similar cellular network this is the most common scenario where this issue is seen. Resolution It is recommended not to use these cellular network connections to permanently display Building Operation Server information, especially from mobile devices connecting to the cellular network.  This type of connection should be used sparingly and for quick access to view/check information as necessary.  Connection loss can be expected if you move away from the webpage for more than 60 seconds.  Any lengthy connections to the Building Operation Server are recommended to use a more permanent network connection.     Issues have not been seen when using broadband Internet or a similar connection as shown below to a remote cellular Building Operation Server.  This meaning that the EcoStruxure Building Operation system has remote Internet access via a broadband cellular connection. To troubleshoot this further, capture a HAR file using the details provided here How to collect a network trace | Microsoft Docs and reproduce the issue while this debugging window is open within your browser.  Note: This capture must be done at the source; that is where WebStation is running.  This may not be easy to do using a mobile device.   Send this saved HAR file and the Internet browser version and EBO version used along with connection types to your local support channel.

4 Channel xP Modules still reserves 8 Channels in Security Expert

Issue A 4 Channel xP Module such as an xpBD4 appears to reserve 8 channels in Security Expert Product Line EcoStruxure Security Expert Environment xP Expansion Modules Cause xP Expansion Modules were originally created for the Continuum Access control system but through transitions are now being used with Security Expert as well. When used in Continuum, a 4 digital channel xP Module would reserve 4 channels only. However under Security Expert that same 4 digital channel xP Module will reserve 8 channels instead.   Continuum ACX5740 plus xPBD4 plus xPD18 ACX5740 Inputs 01 -12 First 12 channels xPBD4 Inputs 13 -16  Next 4 channels xPDI8 Inputs 16 - 24 Next 8 channels Security Expert SP-ACX plus xPBD4 plus xPD18  (Note all SP-ACXs have ACX 5740 I/O counts) SP-ACX Inputs 01 - 12 First 12 channels xPBD4  Inputs 13 - 20 Next 8 channels xPDI8  Inputs 21 - 28 Next 8 channels Resolution Some of the channel reservation under Security Expert has changed relative to how it used to be handled in Continuum, so now even for a 4 digital channel xP module such as an xPBD4, 8 Channels are automatically reserved by design even if only 4 of those channels are actually used. To check all Input, Output, Digital and Analogue xP Channel reservation scenarios under Security Expert please refer to AN 310 Security Expert - xP Module Configuration - Application Note  (for this digital input example, page 7 shows the relevant channel assignment).

Number of COV subscriptions supported by an RP-C

Issue What is the limitation on the number of COV subscriptions an RP-C can handle? Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Room Controller (RPC) Cause When setting up a binding to an RP-C to read a value from another device or transfer a value in the RP-C to another device COV subscriptions are often used.  Resolution The number of subscriptions an RP-C can support is limited primarily by the available resources of the controller. An RP-C with a single point can support thousands of subscriptions but that’s not a realistic configuration on a live site. If resources were allocated to support a defined number of COV subscriptions, this would lock down those resources (primarily memory), making less room for other applications. Since the maximum number of subscriptions depends on how many available resources the controller has at the moment when a subscription is made, there is no guaranteed number on how many subscriptions an RP-C can support.

Pre-entry anti-passback implementation in Continuum using Plain English program

Issue Implementing a pre-entry access card anti-passback using Plain English program Product Line Andover Continuum Environment Continuum Net Controller II Continuum ACX 2 Controller Continuum ACX 4 Controller Cause The anti-passback implementation in Continuum engages when the credential holder enters the area as detected by the door switch/contact. (if no door switch is configured, then the credential holder is considered to have entered the area immediately after access has been granted by the system) When doors are located in close proximity to each other, as is the case with a bank of turnstiles, for example, the built-in anti-passback scheme is easily defeated as a cardholder is able to unlock multiple nearby turnstiles before triggering the door contact and engaging the built-in anti-passback functionality. Resolution The simplest solution to the issue described above is to configure the door objects WITHOUT a door switch/contact, this, however, is not always possible depending on on-site requirements. A second solution is to take control of the doors using Plain English. The solution presented here is for a bank of three turnstiles, (A, B, and C), it uses a PE program per turnstile. The solution can easily be adapted for a bank of less or more turnstiles. NOTE: The PE programming here is provided as a sample, for guideline purposes only, the programs are not intended as a complete solution, significant modifications may be required for site deployment. Is there a built-in feature with a DMS panel or the programming tool (OPRIF) that provides database analysis?

Issue Jobsite is visited every few months.  It seems like database elements have changed value since the previous visit.  These are elements that do not need changing unlike setpoints or schedules. Environment DMS OPRIF Cause Wanting to cross-check current element values in the database with the previous visit Resolution Due to the generation of the product, database analysis tools were not a built-in feature. Supervisory computers allowed for tools to analyse databases and save information to file for future review (i.e. UltiVist, SIGNAL, etc...) With only OPRIF available, screenshots of point configuration screens are the only way to store values for review later. DMS databases are not formatted for offline viewing. Comparing one database copy to another is to use a second DMS panel.
