"Server Error in '/ebo' Application" while registering a system

Issue When attempting to register a system, an error page is shown indicating a server error in the /ebo application   Error Text: Runtime Error An application error occurred on the server.  The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security settings).  It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.  Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment WorkStation Registration Windows Server 2012 R2 and above Cause While the error message points to an error in the back end server, it is actually due to a setting on the client PC. Enhanced security configurations in Internet Explorer on Windows Server systems, is blocking required content from being run. EcoStruxure Building Operation WorkStation uses Internet Explorer as the built-in browser and is therefore affected by this. Resolution While the enhanced security measures can be disabled altogether, the resolution with the smallest impact is to add the URL of the registration portal to trusted sites in Internet Explorer. Open Internet Explorer Open Internet Options Select the Security tab Click Trusted Sites Click Sites Enter the registration portal URL: https://registration.smartstruxure.schneider-electric.com Click Add Click Close Click OK After doing so, restart WorkStation, and attempt the registration again. For more information, refer to the WebHelp topic EcoStruxure Building Operation Registration Page is not Displayed.

Import all converted I/NET graphic folders into EcoStruxure at one time

Issue In order to make page links between different I/NET graphic folders work fine, the same folder structure needs to be created manually in EcoStruxure / SmartStruxure. Refer to Converting I/NET graphics to TGML using the "Create Source Tree" option to realize this. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation, TAC INET Environment EcoStruxure / SmartStruxure 1.4 or higher I/NET Cause The I/NET graphic folder structure will not be created automatically before SmartStruxure 1.4.0. Resolution Starting in version 1.4.0, there was a new feature called Data import for I/NET graphic. Using this feature, all the converted I/NET graphic folders structure can be imported at one time without any need for manual work. Here are the steps to make it work: Convert the I/NET graphics according to Converting I/NET graphics to TGML using the "Create Source Tree" option, but do not create the folder structure manually in EcoStruxure / SmartStruxure. Create the default Inet Graphics folder by right clicking on I/NET Interface-->New. Right click on Data Import and choose the root folder of all of the I/NET graphics. Click OK. Data importer will check all the file names and bindings. If any error happens, check and fix it before importing again. (Currently apostrophe is not supported in SmartStruxure. Change the name and relative link and do it again. It may be fixed in later version) Check whether all the bindings and links work fine. Important: Currently this feature doesn't support export/import in SmartStruxure. It will fail to import if any sub folders are contained under INET interface. This may be fixed in later version. The workaround is to still create the whole structure according to Converting I/NET graphics to TGML using the "Create Source Tree" option.

How to move a PCS project from one PCS server to another one.

Issue I have created a project in the Project Configuration Server (PCS) on my computer. Now I would like to move this to the customers computer how do I do that?  Environment StruxureWare Building Operation 1.5 and later versions. Cause You move a project database from an off-site computer to a customer site computer, when a project cannot be deployed from an off-site computer. Resolution On the source computer, in WorkStation for Projects, ensure that the project is backed up. For more information, see Checking the Backup Status of a Server . Close WorkStation for Projects. Wait 5 minutes to ensure that the project is closed. A project closes 5 minutes after the last user has logged off.    When multiple users are working with the Project Configuration Server, make sure a stop of the Project Configuration Server Windows service does not negatively affect your projects before closing.   In Software Administrator, in the Project Configuration Server tab, copy the path of the Projects folder. In Windows Explorer, in the Address box, paste the path of the Projects folder. Move the individual project folder to a USB drive or to another appropriate media. On the target computer, in Software Administrator, in the Project Configuration Server tab, copy the path of the Projects folder. Functional block names are shorter in XIF file, LonMaker or NL220 than the names defined in SmartStruxure

Issue Functional block names are shorter in XIF file, LonMaker or NL220 than the names defined in SmartStruxure Environment Automation Server Externally Managed LonWorks Network Cause LonMark defines how a xif file must be structured and written. There are especially three rules that comes into play when creating the functional blocks from an Automation Server in the externally managed LonWorks network. In the LONMARK® Device Interface File Reference Guide it states that: "If the static interface contains functional blocks, the device selfdocumentation string must be formatted as described in The LONMARK Interoperability Guidelines." In the LONMARK® Application-Layer Interoperability Guidelines it states that: "Manufacturers are free to assign any functional profile number to new non-inheriting profiles, as long as they are in the range of 20000 to 25000, inclusive; and as long as the number is unique for the program ID template and scope of the resource file set containing the functional profile." In the same document it also states that: "The device self-documentation string is a string of up to 1024 bytes (subject to device memory limits)" and also "If the name is text, it must consist of ASCII printable characters, be of no more than 16 characters in length". Due to the above mentioned rules, any functional block defined in the Automation Server will always start with a functional profile number from 20001 and up and the name of the functional block (excluding the 5 digit profile number) will not be longer than 16 characters. If the name defined in SmartStruxure is longer than 16 characters, the characters from 17 and up will be deleted. If the complete length of the self documentation string is longer than 1024 bytes, the maximum character length will be lowered by one until the complete string fits within 1024 bytes. Resolution The only way to get around this is to either make fewer functional blocks on the Local Node in SmartStruxure, or to make their names shorter.
