Resolution This resolution process was developed from the System Upgrade Reference Guide and tested on a single PC. Windows Server 2008 R2 at StruxureWare Building Operation 1.4.1 running SQL2008 R2 SP1 and .NET 4.0 upgraded to StruxureWare Building Operation 1.5.0 SQL2008 R2 SP2 and .NET 4.5.  You can find and download all 1.5.0 released software and documentation by searching the Building Download Center for the tag "relsbov1.5" Backup Enterpriser Server, All Automation Servers and Report Server. Store backups on external media. If desired, create a Windows snapshot for a quick return point. Close all StruxureWare applications In the Windows Server Manager, Expand Configuration and Select Services Browse to “StruxureWare Reporting Agent”, right click on it and select stop Open Software Administrator and stop the ES service. Close Software Administrator In the Windows Server Manager - Services section, stop the service “Building Operation 1.4 License Server” Run the .NET 4.5 installer. (repeat on all PCs) Run the License Administrator 1.5.0 installer Run the Enterprise Server 1.5.0 installer; select the Upgrade current version option. Note the ports used. Port 80 should not be used for http communication when the ES is installed on the Same PC as the Report Server. If desired install the Project Configuration Server.  Be sure that the HTTP port is not the same as what is used for the Enterprise Server and not port 80 Open Software Administrator and verify that both the Enterprise Server and PCS are running and using different ports Install Workstation. If you are upgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.5 and planning to delay the upgrade of the Automation Servers, you should install Workstation in parallel instead of upgrading Install Device Administrator. If you are upgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.5 and planning to delay the upgrade of the Automation Servers, you should install Workstation in parallel instead of upgrading At this time, upgrade any required Automation Servers. ALARM blocks in SBO Function Block Editor

Issue ALARM blocks can be added to an SBO Function Block application, but it is not possible to set delay, priority or alarm text parameters from within the Function Block Editor.  Also, the preceding block is assigned an auto-generated name and public status, if it did not already have a name. Environment SBO 1.5.0 and earlier. Function Block Editor Cause When an alarm block is added to a Function Block program an alarm object is automatically created in the SBO System Tree, below the FB program object.  By default, the alarm object is not visible until the filter 'Show non-presentation objects' is set The public block preceding the alarm block is required so that the alarm object in the System Tree can have a Monitored Variable reference.  The 'Function Block Editor and Menta Editor Difference Guide 04-15010-01' states that 'The function block programs still need the ALARM blocks, but the blocks only serve as inputs and outputs to the alarm functions..'.  This is misleading as you do not need to explicitly create an external alarm object - all the usual alarm properties are available in the automatically generated alarm object, once it is made visible. Resolution Set the System Tree filter to 'Show non-presentation objects'.  Then set the required alarm properties in the displayed alarm object below the FB program object.

Security Expert Server computer name restrictions

Issue Security Expert controller appears offline even though all IP Address and Port settings appear to be correct. Product Line Security Expert Environment Security Expert Server Windows Operating System Cause The Security Expert Server computer name is larger than 15 characters. There is a maximum limit of 15 characters which can be used in the Security Expert Client for both the Download Server and the Event Server settings, any more than this and the Client cannot resolve the computer names correctly. For further details on this restriction refer to the Naming conventions in Active Directory for computers article on Microsoft's Support website. The Download and Event Server settings can be found in the Global Menu. Download and Event Servers In this example the full computer name, PCName123456789Long, is being used in the Download and Event Server Computer Name fields. Download Server Event Server Security Expert is not able to find the Download Server or Event Server with that computer name as it is expecting a computer name of a maximum of 15 characters. Resolution In circumstances where the PC Name is longer than 15 characters there are two options. Either enter the first 15 characters of the computer name into the Download Server and Event Server settings rather than the longer full name. In the example computer name above the name "PCName123456789Long" would become "PCName123456789". Or change the Security Expert Server computer name so that it is 15 characters or less and use this in the Download Server and Event Server settings.

Wake-Up Interval and Redundant Transmission settings on the SED-THSU5045 thermostat.

Issue How do the Wake Up Time and Redundant Transmission settings affect the operation of the SED-THSU5045 thermostat? Environment SED-THSU5045 Enocean Cause The function of the Wake-Up interval and the Redundant Transmission switches is not described in the documentation that comes with the sensor.   Resolution DIP Switch 1 and 2 control the Wake-up Interval (in seconds) OFF OFF No cycling wake up ON OFF 1 OFF ON 10 ON ON 100 DIP Switch 2 and 3 control the Redundant Transmissions (in frequency of tx) OFF OFF Every wake up ON OFF 7 to 14 wake ups OFF ON 70 to 140 wake ups ON ON Never   The idea is that the stat will wake up when the wake-up interval is elapsed and verify if the temperature has changed by more than approximately 1°F. If it did, it will send a transmission, if not it will go back to sleep until the next interval. The second setting (redundant transmission) will govern how often the stat will send a value, even if the temperature has not changed (as some kind of ping or keepalive).

Security Expert Download Service Download Frequency

Issue Changing the Download Service download frequency doesn't have any effect on how often downloads to controllers occur. Product Line Security Expert Environment Security Expert Security Expert Download Service Security Expert SP-C controller Cause The Download Retry Delay, under SITES | CONTROLLERS | CONFIGURATION, defines the frequency (in seconds) at which the software sends programming updates to the controller. Controller Configuration Setting Changing this value to have the Download Service perform faster downloads to controllers when there are changes does not affect the Download frequency. Resolution The Download Retry Delay is a legacy setting and does not have any effect in the current release of Security Expert. The Download Service checks through the list of controllers as fast as possible. If there is a change in the controller, the Download Service will attempt a download. No download will be attempted for controllers that have no changes. Documentation will be amended to reflect this change.
