Issue EcoStruxure Building Operation different types of licenses and all features Version 1.9 and older: Difference between Workstation standard and Workstation professional Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment All versions Cause Due to different features of each license, customer may get confused which license to order. Issue Receive "Error 1606. Could not access network location\." when installing I/NET Seven Software with StruxureWare Building Operation Environment I/NET Seven SmartStruxure Solution 1.3 Cause When uninstalling / Installing I/NET with Building Operation software already installed the Enterprise Server and InetIoSrv service must be stopped.  In some situations when not installing the for site it may be best to set both the Enterprise Server and InetIoSrv services to manual avoiding this situation. Resolution To resolve this problem.  Stop the Building Operation Enterprise Server service, either from the Software Administrator application or from the Windows Services. It is also recommended to stop or remove the InetIoSrv service prior to any update of the I/NET Seven software.

Issue Is the use of Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit Service Pack 1 supported when using release 1.3? Environment Release 1.3 Documentation Release notes Operating system Cause The release note for StruxureWare Building Operation 1.3 states that only Windows 2008 R2 64 bit is supported, but it also says that .Net 4.0 is required. When downloading .Net 4.0 from the following site,  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3556 you are advised in system requirements that Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit SP1 is required. Is Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit SP1 supported? Resolution When our software quality assurance teams tested and qualified 1.3.0  they all used SP1, so yes SP1 is officially supported.  

Issue Is it possible to use dynamic SNVTs in StruxureWare Building Operation? Environment StruxureWare Building Operation version 1.3. Cause A XIF file including Dynamic SNVTS is often created by a LNS plugin and depending on the settings in the LNS plugin the XIF file changes. Even when the Xif file changes the program ID in the XIF does not. And in SmartStruxure it is not possible to import two XIF files with the same program ID. Resolution Dynamic SNVT works but only for one device, if different devices have different settings in the LNS plugin only one can be imported.

Issue Sending a SNVT value from one local node to another local node in another Automation Server. Environment Automation Server Workstation Lon Interface Local Node Cause You can not bind directly between two lon devices under different AS. You cannot bind from one local node to another local node either.   Resolution Transfering SNVTs from one Automation Server to another Bind from SNVT_out on the lon controller to a SNVT_in in the local node on AS1. (Normal SNVT communication, send on change and period) Bind from local node SNVT_in on AS1 to a SmartStruxure value in AS1. Bind SmartStruxure value in AS1 to a SmartStruxure value in AS2. Bind from the SmartStruxure value in AS2 to a SNVT_out in the local node of AS2. Bind from SNVT_out in the local node of AS2 to the SNVT_in of a controller out on the FT-10 network. (Normal SNVT communication, send on change and period) NOTE:  When binding with a network variable you need to expand the SNVT and bind to the property contained within the SNVT. In version prior to 1.4 bindings could be made from one local node variable to another local node variable in another AS but this was an improper engineering method that is now illegal in SmartStruxure.

Issue Web Security. Environment http https Web Clients Cause http does not provide the same level of security as https. Resolution At SmartStruxure Building Operation 1.4, this is no way to force ES web clients to use https. The feature is supported from SmartStruxure 1.6.0 RC and up

Issue Access which allows a value to be changed, also allows other changes to be made. Environment Users User accounts Cause A user account is created to have read only access, but this user must also have access to view Graphics, and on these graphics, be able to change values. How can this be achieved without allowing the user access to delete or edit these objects?   Resolution At StruxureWare Building Operation release 1.3 there are no available options that will achieve this configuration, the most appropriate configuration is to create a Workspace for the user, in which they will see only the Graphics, the user would have Read/Write access to the values they are allowed to change.

Issue If creating a shortcut from an object the name of the shortcut does mirror the object. I can change the object name but the shortcuts does not reflect the change and the old name remains. Environment StruxureWare version 1.3 Cause The shortcut object doesn't need to have the same name as the original object. When the shortcut is created it gets the same name default but then you can change the names on booth the shortcut or the original object to anything you like. But the shortcut will still show the value from the original object. This is the same way as it working in Vista also Resolution That is the way it is designed to work.

Issue If the Automation Server (AS) starts up with its clock set to 1970, it is possible to create duplicate object Id's. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Automation Server, version 1.3.0.938 Cause If the clock in the AS is set before engineering the unit, the issue does not occur. However, if the clock is not set this problem occurs and the only was out is to re-engineer the AS. In addition, the BACnet interface will cease to function. Resolution This issue has been identified as a defect, and will be resolved in a future release.  In the meantime, be sure to configure the AS to the correct date and time prior to engineering the unit.

Issue No Driver Module for path Software administrator Environment StruxureWare Building Operation Software administrator Cause Have some errors about No Driver Module for path* Resolution In principle it means that we have a mount point but no driver. It could potentially happen if we have an object on another server referring those points. For example:  The messages are relating to broken binds of monitored values in trend logs. i.e. The original binds were changed to relative binds, and after that the monitored values were moved to another folder. In this case correct the bindings would remove the messages

Issue When trying to launch StruxureWare Graphics Editor stand alone or through Workstation the program crashes due to an unhandled exception. Review of Windows Event Log displaying the following error message: Application: SE.Graphics.Editor.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception. Repair, upgrade, or reinstall of .NET framework have not been successful.

Issue Extended Logs not showing up in the Reports Server Database table tbLoggedEntities does not contain trend data. Environment Report Server Cause Extended Trend logs must reside on the ES and must have the "Include in Reports" parameter set to "True" Resolution Ensure the Extended Trend Log resides in the ES. If it is in an AS, you can create another Extended Trend Log in the ES with that as the reference. Ensure that all Extended Trend Logs that you wish to see in Reports have the parameter "Include in Reports" set to "True"

Issue When making modifications to a Functional Block program will this result in outputs cycling? Environment Enterprise Server Automation Server Functional Block Cause Functional Block programs operate by sending the signal of each block to the next connected block each program cycle. The functional block program also stores in its memory the last value of the block when committing a change and restarting the program. Due to the memory of the block values outputs of the Functional block program should normally avoid fluctuation when saving to the database. Situations where value will be held No change to logic impacting this output in save to program and Delay blocks are not used Situations where value can fluctuate Change to logic that directly impacts the output signal Use of Delay blocks in control logic for output The delay block will reset to the specified default value when you save the application and if this used in the control logic for your output it can result in a one program cycle fluctuation in the output value. Resolution To avoid any physical device damage when saving a change to the Functional Block program it is recommended to be cautious and use overrides while the program change is occurring. This can be done in software by forcing an output value (on IO module) or using Hand/Auto/Off (HAO) controllers on the output device. Use of these overrides will protect your physical equipment and allow you to validate the programming logic changes after saving.

Issue I/A Series MNL version 3 controller profiles are not shown in the list when adding a new LON device to a SmartStruxure Automation Server.  How do I add the template for one of those controllers to the Automation Server? Environment SmartStruxure 1.3 or newer Automation Server I/A Series MNL version 3 or earlier controllers. Cause Templates are not provided in SmartStruxure 1.3 for the older families of I/A Series MNL controllers Resolution Import a device template per StruxureWare Building Operation release 1.3 Technical Reference Guide section 40.14. This procedure is used any time the device template was not pre-defined or has not been imported into the AS. The templates for the older MNL family of controllers can be downloaded from the Download Center. You should also download the associated readme file so that you understand the arrangement of the files in the folders of the zip file. We suggest that you download and unzip the entire file to your computer using the folder structure contained in the zip file. The readme file lists the xif files contained in each of the xif folders. The xif files contained in the xif_40 folder are already contained in the SmartStruxure 1.3 system. When importing these templates into StruxureWare 1.3, you may get some warnings about SelfDoc strings and possibly errors about missing DRF types. Both issues can be ignored. If errors are reported regarding missing DRF types, click the [No] button to continue the import process.   After importing the template, you can then create the device under the LonWorks network as defined in the StruxureWare Building Operation Technical Reference Guide section 40.2. The template that you imported will be listed based on the name and profile of the device. You can assign a name of your choice (or use the default) for the created device. After device NeuronID or using the service pin process to send it from the controller, you then commission the added device. You should select the option "Keep current configuration in the device". Do not check the "Device application file" because the I/A Series MNL controllers do not use loadable executable files.

Issue ES will not start because only the WorkStation Software Professional license is installed and not the Enterprise Server License. Can both licenses be installed on the same computer ? Environment Enterprise Server Workstation License Cause The enterprise server will not run because only the workstation license is installed. Resolution Yes both the WorkStation Software Professional license and the Enterprise Server license can be installed in the same computer.  

Issue Where can I find documentation which explains what a Trend Log Comparison Report does? Environment StruxureWare Building Operation 1.3 Cause The Trend Log Comparison report provides a way for you to compare the output of the trend logs associated with a data point, such as the kilowatts for a power meter. The report provides similar reporting as the Trend Chart, however, you can export the report, schedule the report, and run the report using a Web browser and without access to WorkStation.   Resolution It is possible to read about Trend Log Comparison report in the manual Web report reference guide which you find on the Extranet under Products > StruxureWare Building Operation > Product information > StruxureWare > Building Operation 1.3 > Report server.  

Issue After a template has been loaded in the ES, you will not see this template listed in the list of templates on any of the AS devices that reside under that ES.  Environment Binding Templates Device Templates xif files DRF Kits Enterprise Server Automation Server Cause SmartStruxure designates separate levels between the AS and ES to prevent unnecessary distribution templates that will use up the memory in the AS.  For example, it is possible to have Binding Templates that have a great use in the ES but little to no use in the AS.  For this reason, you will need to take an extra step to load the necessary templates into the AS if needed. NOTE:  There is not currently a function to delete unwanted templates out of a device in SmartStruxure.  Make sure the correct template is selected before you complete the import process. Resolution You will be required to import that all of the necessary templates into the ES and all of the AS devices that may require a use for that particular template. This can be done by simply logging directly into the AS to load the template locally.
