The controller error log indicates many entries marked 0x00010000

Issue The following is a typical entry in a controller error log: 184 I 01/07/2012 16:02:16.19 0x00010000 0x0021a600 0x00177b9a 0x00000000 0x00000136 Product Line Andover Continuum Environment Network controllers Infinet controllers b3 controllers Cause The above entry is an indication of a clock change in the controller. Resolution 184 I 01/07/2012 16:02:16.19 0x00010000 0x0021a600 0x00177b9a 0x00000000 0x00000136 The above entry is just an informational log entry - not an error. This can be seen by the "I" after the line number 184. The three types of entries in the controller error logs are: 'I' (Informational) 'W' (Warning) 'E' (Error) It is not unusual to see the Clock Change entry a few times a day as many sites are set up with a time sync program that runs in one workstation every hour and synchronizes the WS time to the lowest ID network level controller in each network object. In this case there were dozens of entries per hour as there was a looping time sync program updating the clock whenever the time difference was >1 sec. For a program to sync time, see Time sync controllers to workstations.

Modbus TCP/IP and Modbus RTU configuration in an Xenta Server.

Issue Modbus TCP/IP Server is not an option when programming a Modbus Gateway in an Xenta Server. Environment Xenta 913 Xenta 7xx XBuilder Cause There are only 3 Modbus Interface configurations for Modbus in an Xenta Server. Do we need to purchase new Building Operation license(s) when upgrading?

Issue When upgrading Building Operation do new licenses need to be purchased? Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation (All Versions) Cause Is there a requirement to upgrade (purchase new) licenses when performing software upgrades to Building Operation to make use of the new features available. Resolution Building Operation software version numbering consists of 3 fields the first of these denotes the major release version. For example: 1.9.4 - Release 1 2.0.1 - Release 2 3.0.1 - Release 3 3.2.4 - Release 3 4.0.4 - Release 4 (EBO 2022) 5.0.3 - Release 5 (EBO 2023) 6.0.2 - Release 6 (EBO 2024) An upgraded license will be required when moving between major versions of Building Operation. For example: An upgrade license needs to be purchased when a 1.9.4 system is upgraded to 2.04. An upgrade license is not required to upgrade a 3.0.1 system to 3.2.4 There is currently one exception to this rule, licenses previously purchased for EBO 2022(4.0) can also run a EBO 2023(5.0) system.   From EBO 2.0 onward a scalable licensing model has been adopted and the cost of upgrades are determined based on the declared size and capability needs of the system. For more information please refer to the Pricing Policy - EcoStruxure Building Operation and the Part Number and Hardware and Software Matrix - EcoStruxure Building Operation 2023

Resolution It is only TAC Xenta 421A, 422A, 451A, and 452A that can act as Stand-Alone LonWorks devices. TAC Xenta 400 I/O modules without -A, will not work as Stand Alone LonWorks devices. Once communication has been established with the Xenta I/O module the green status led will flash on for 1 second every 10 seconds indicating it is in Stand-Alone mode.   In Building Operation, the Lonworks devices list will show devices without an "A" after it. This may lead to the wrong conclusion that these devices can be added as stand-alone devices, but that is not the case. These devices are listed so that they can be added manually to a programmable Xenta device as an IO module.

Removing invalid alarms

Issue Alarms with an invalid Source path cannot be removed from ES or AS Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Workstation Building Operation 3.0 and higher Cause The invalid path prevents alarms from being deleted. In earlier releases of EBO, there was an issue whereby an error could occur in the source path of an alarm if the Automation Server was renamed. Most invalid alarms observed originate from this type of error. Resolution Use Alarms Integrity Check in the following steps.  Automation Servers first, then Enterprise Server, and finally, if installed, Enterprise Central last. See Alarm Cannot be Acknowledged Due to Invalid Paths for additional details.   Expand System, Right-click the Alarm Control Panel,  Choose Advanced - Alarms Integrity Check.   The command runs quickly. There is no confirmation that the check has run, but a review of the alarms will show that the invalid alarms have been removed.
