Windows Alignment Issue for I/NET display

Issue When I/NET is running under Windows 7, there will be a display issue about alignment. The font size has been changed to smaller - 100%, but still no use.  Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation, TAC INET Environment Windows 7 Cause Be sure to try I/NET Seven Windows fields not aligning correctly on workstation's display to change the font size first to see whether it can help. If not, continue to the next information. I/NET used the default MS Sans Serif font to display everything. But something has changed in Windows 7 about the font display.  Research showed that many users with high resolution monitors (particularly LCD flat screens) were running the monitors at lower resolutions than the native resolution of the screen. This was usually because at the native resolution, the fonts were becoming too small to read, so the users would decrease the resolution. Windows includes a facility to increase font and window sizes while keeping the screen at the native resolution.  This is a much better method of increasing the font size as it can produce much smoother images by using many more, smaller pixels. The really significant issue is, unlike CRT monitors, flat-panel LCD monitors have a fixed pixel size, or "resolution", and that when users change to a lower resolution (in order to increase text size) the system has to re-sample the lower-resolution display image into its fixed resolution causing a significant degradation in display quality: not just text looks worse, everything looks worse. A change was made for Windows 7, to set the screen resolution to the monitor's native resolution and if the screen is over a certain resolution to default the font size 120 DPI (dots per inch). This is approximately 125% of normal 96 DPI (100%). When the system defaults to 125% DPI it also adjusts the MS Sans Serif font to be bigger.  If the user then decides to set the DPI back to 100%, then TrueType fonts, which are scalable, adjust as expected. But the bitmap MS Sans Serif font does not: it remains at the larger size, hence this issue. This problem does not occur if Windows 7 keeps DPI at 100% when it is first installed. So anyway, when the default font size is Medium - 125% instead of smaller - 100%, probably the solution below is needed to solve it. Resolution Go to the Registry Editor, and find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts. Find the entry MS Sans Serif 8,10,12,14,18,24. The original value is set to SSERIFF.FON on a system which started at 125% DPI. Set to SSERIFE.FON on a system which started at 100% DPI.  Notice that one character of the file name changes from F to E. Restart the computer, and make sure the font size is set to smaller - 100%. Refer to I/NET Seven Windows fields not aligning correctly on workstation's display about how to set font size. Then it should go back to work.

Security Expert Download Service Download Frequency

Issue Changing the Download Service download frequency doesn't have any effect on how often downloads to controllers occur. Product Line Security Expert Environment Security Expert Security Expert Download Service Security Expert SP-C controller Cause The Download Retry Delay, under SITES | CONTROLLERS | CONFIGURATION, defines the frequency (in seconds) at which the software sends programming updates to the controller. Controller Configuration Setting Changing this value to have the Download Service perform faster downloads to controllers when there are changes does not affect the Download frequency. Resolution The Download Retry Delay is a legacy setting and does not have any effect in the current release of Security Expert. The Download Service checks through the list of controllers as fast as possible. If there is a change in the controller, the Download Service will attempt a download. No download will be attempted for controllers that have no changes. Documentation will be amended to reflect this change.

Using an STR-350/351 in SmartStruxure: Function Block Macro

Issue When using the STR-350/351 in SmartStruxure Function Block Editor some programming consideration must be made to keep the occupancy and setpoint in sync between the stat and the program. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Function Block Editor Workstation STR350 STR351 Cause The STR-350 does not have a configurable Bypass time setting so this must be done using Function Block programming. STR-350 also takes roughly 30 seconds to recover from a power failure. By storing the last known setpoint in a DELR block with the "backup" option set, the setpoint will be restored. Resolution Click the pictures of the Function Block macro below to download the source file. Unoccupied Bypass In order to allow for local override commands from the stat, the occupancy must be read in from the STR-350. By allowing the programmable controller to control both the schedule and the override, the stat stays in sync with the program. The Bypass button of the STR-350 will only toggle the output of the nvoOccManCmd if the input nviEffectOccup matches the current button value. Setpoint The setpoint requires a little bit of extra programming to account for a power failure. The stat will report invalid setpoints for the first 30 seconds, which will cause it to come back in an undesired state. By letting the Function Block program hold onto the last known setpoint, and write it back to the stat on power up, there is no change in the setpoint after a power loss. Looping the setpoint in/out from the stat keeps everything in sync with the program, including stat adjustments. Note: If these macros are going to be used with a STR-350/351 set in degrees Celsius; make sure to change all initial values within the setpoint range. If the initial values are outside of the setpoint range, then the setpoint will always default back to the last known value.

BACnet router for MSTP network is broadcasting from an unknown device

Issue SBO v1.4 will not learn MSTP devices on MSTP Network #1354 on Cimetrics BACnet IP Server Environment SmartStruxure v1.4  Cause BACnet in SBO v1.4 and 1.5 does not work with BACnet routers that do not have their own device object. The BACnet Router for Network #1354 is a Cimetrics device which is hosting the MSTP network where 97 devices will not come into SBO. The trace log (attached) has many entries like this: 2014-09-17 19:46:29.105 [1176806464] nsp.pin.BACnet Router for Network #1354 is broadcasting from unknown device -- ignored (BACnetMain) 2014-09-17 19:46:29.110 [1176806464] nsp.pin.BACnet Unable to add proxy for device Device_96 (ID=96), CStatus=0x80050019 (BACnetMain) 2014-09-17 19:46:29.110 [1176806464] nsp.pin.BACnet Router for Network #1354 is broadcasting from unknown device -- ignored (BACnetMain) 2014-09-17 19:46:29.115 [1176806464] nsp.pin.BACnet Unable to add proxy for device Device_97 (ID=97), CStatus=0x80050019 (BACnetMain) Resolution BACnet in SBO v1.4 and 1.5 does not work with BACnet routers that do not have their own device object. It is fixed in future release v1.6. Not much can be done about for sites with 1.4 or 1.5 unless the 3rd party BACnet router (in this case the Cimetrics device) has a configuration option to assign it a Device Id.

Verifying if Windows Authentication is Enabled

Issue Windows Authentication must be applied consistently for Security Expert, SOAP, and Data Sync Service to work. Product Line Security Expert Environment Security Expert Microsoft Windows Cause If Windows Authentication is enabled in Security Expert (this is done during installation with a checkbox) then it must also be enabled in SOAP and Data Sync Service. Resolution Windows authentication is NOT enabled by default in Security Expert. This is a tick box on Security Expert installation. When you install SOAP you also need to select this (another tick box). However, Data Sync Service (DSS) is created with no options during installation. To enable or check the Windows Authentication setting for Data Sync Service, see below. If installation has already been completed and you need to verify if Windows Authentication is enabled for each component you must follow the steps below.   1. Security Expert Thick Client/Server   There are two options for setting Windows Authentication for Security Expert Thick Client/Server. Option 1. Edit the Security Expert Data Service config file “SecurityExpertSV.exe.config” using a text editor. This file is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Security Expert. Locate this line: <netTcpBinding> <binding name="Binding1" openTimeout="00:10:00" receiveTimeout="00:21:00" sendTimeout="00:21:00" maxBufferPoolSize="2147483647" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647"><security mode="None"/> <readerQuotas maxDepth="32" maxStringContentLength="90000000" maxArrayLength="90000000" maxBytesPerRead="90000000" maxNameTableCharCount="90000000" /> </binding> </netTcpBinding> security mode= “None” denotes that Windows Authentication is not enabled. If Windows authentication has been enabled during installation then this entry will be missing. Option 2. Rerun the installation process and select “Modify” and then set the enabled flag tick-box or make sure the tick-box is not checked, depending on what is required.   2. Security Expert SOAP   There are also two options for setting Windows Authentication in SOAP. Option 1. Edit the SOAP service “Web.config” file located in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SecurityExpertSOAPService with a text editor. Locate this line: <netTcpBinding> <binding name="Binding1" openTimeout="00:10:00" receiveTimeout="00:21:00" sendTimeout="00:21:00" maxBufferPoolSize="2147483647" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647"><security mode="None" /> <readerQuotas maxDepth="2000000" maxStringContentLength="2147483647" maxArrayLength="2147483647" maxBytesPerRead="2147483647" maxNameTableCharCount="2147483647" /> </binding> </netTcpBinding> Again, security mode = “None” denotes that Windows Authentication is not enabled. If Windows authentication has been enabled during installation then this entry will be missing. Option 2. For SOAP you also have the option of uninstalling and reinstalling and selecting the check box (or not) to enable Windows Authentication during the install process. The installer for SOAP currently does not support “modify” or “change” operations.   3. Data Sync Service   Edit two config files using a text editor. Both files are located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Data Sync Service. In “DataSyncServiceConfig.exe.config” locate this line: <netTcpBinding> <binding name="NetTcpBinding_IService" openTimeout="00:10:00" receiveTimeout="00:21:00" sendTimeout="00:21:00" maxBufferPoolSize="2147483647" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647"> <readerQuotas maxDepth="2000000" maxStringContentLength="2147483647" maxArrayLength="2147483647" maxBytesPerRead="2147483647" maxNameTableCharCount="2147483647" /> <security mode="None" /> </binding> </netTcpBinding> Again, security mode= “None” denotes that Windows Authentication is not enabled. If Windows authentication has been enabled during installation then this entry will be missing.   4. Summary   In order to properly run SOAP and Data Sync Service with a Security Expert system, there are four config files that must be consistent. SecurityExpertSV.exe.config Web.config DataSyncServiceConfig.exe.config DataSyncService.exe.config All four must either contain the text <security mode="None" /> or all four must NOT contain that text.

Navigating to a TAC Vista TGML Graphic from a SmartStruxure TGML Graphic through TAC Vista Webstation

Issue The TGML page is dynamic but looks static. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation, TAC Vista Environment Vista StruxureWare Interface Cause In the Release Note, page 30 says: It is possible to navigate to a TAC Vista Webstation TGML Graphic through a link in a SmartStruxure TGML Graphic. To achieve this connection a link object is created in the SmartStruxure TGML Graphic which is linked to a SmartStruxure hyperlink object that holds the TAC Vista Webstation TGML Graphic page address. Example of a hyperlink objects address in SmartStruxure that is linked to a TGML Graphic in TAC Vista: HTTP://ip_address/webstation/LoginPage.aspx?page=TgmlGraphicsPage.aspx?objectId=3074949137 Note: This will always require a login by a valid TAC Vista user, even if the TAC Vista Webstation auto login feature has been activated. Resolution The example link above is referring to a static page. For example, if the TGML page is dynamic, you will see the following in the copied link (see bold). HTTP://ip_address/webstation/LoginPage.aspx?page=TgmldynamicGraphicsPage.aspx?objectId=3074949137 You can also read the following in the release note: In order to determine the TAC Vista Webstation URL for a TAC Vista Webstation TGML Graphic the following TAC Vista Web Setting configuration must be in place: Optimized TGML Loading is deactivated Folders pane is set to Standard HTML With these settings it is possible to right-click a TGML object in the folders pane and select "Copy Shortcut." This will copy the TAC Vista Webstation URL to the clipboard and it can then be pasted into a SmartStruxure hyperlink object address field. After the shortcut has been pasted, it will have to be modified in order for the TAC Vista TGML Graphic to be displayed properly in SmartStruxure. The modification is marked with bold in the example below: Copied: HTTP://ip_address/webstation/TgmlGraphicsPage.aspx?objectId=3074949137 Modified: HTTP://ip_address/webstation/TgmlGraphicsPage.aspx?objectId=3074949137 If the link you copied was a dynamic TGML the link will look like: HTTP://ip_address/webstation/TgmldynamicGraphicsPage.aspx?objectId=3074949137 and should be modified as this HTTP://ip_address/webstation/LoginPage.aspx?page=TgmldynamicGraphicsPage.aspx?objectId=3074949137 Also reference the TAC Vista Webstation Graphics Links and SmartStruxure Integration tool on the Community.

Webstation shows 12 hour AM/PM time format even when the PC is setup to 24 hour format

Issue Webstation shows 12 hour AM/PM time and U.S date format even when the PC is setup to 24 hour and UK date formats   Environment Webstation Localization Cause Webstation does not get its time and date format from the Windows PC, but from the installed and selected language pack. To change the format, you need to install the language pack for your country or language. There might not be language packs for all languages and countries, and unfortunately there is currently no option to UK/ European English in Webstation. Resolution The workaround is to install a modified English language pack. Download and save and install one of the following two zip files, and install as described below. DO NOT UNZIP THE FILE! UK English 24 hours format with time zone indication UK English 24 hours format without time zone indication    While you are logged into Webstation, Select Settings, then Add or remove language Select "Choose file" and browse to the location you downloaded the language pack .zip file to and select ok Then under settings, select "Change regional settings" You should now have the option to select "English (UK) (en-UK)"  you should now see that the date and time have now changed to UK format.

Issue Can DDC lines in ASCs be displayed on I/NET Graphic Pages? Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET .gpg graphics DDC Lines Cause DDC Lines are represented different from Resident I/O points. Resolution Yes. The following Lines are the most common to view: Line 1 = Active Cooling setpoint Line 4 = Active Heating setpoint Line 5 = Active setpoint (*see below) Line 10 = Cool CFM setpoint (only on VAV-X2) Line 12 = Airflow setpoint (only on VAV-AX and X1) Line 14 = Mix Air (only on AHU w/ mixed air econ. control) Line 15 = Warm CFM setpoint (only on VAV-X2) Line 26 = Cool Air Flow (only on VAV-X2) Line 27 = Hot Air Flow (only on VAV-X2) * Line 5 should be the same as the value displayed on the STR-250, I/STAT, M/STAT. It will display either line 1 or line 4's value, whichever one is closer to the current space temperature. If average is selected for SPD, then line 5 will show that averaged value even though the controller is operating on the actual heating or cooling setpoint. For a complete listing of all ASC points and lines, see ASCLines.pdf.
