How is the AlarmEnable attribute derived?

Issue What are the different values for the Alarm Enable attribute on a Continuum object when viewed in a list view? Product Line Andover Continuum Environment Continuum Alarms All Infinity Controllers Cause The Alarm Enable attribute is a number that represents the binary combination of the 8 possible alarms that can be used on the "Alarm" tab of a Point or a Numeric. Resolution The screenshot shows a numeric that has 2 Alarms enabled, the binary combination of these 2 points would be 3 (Bit 1 + Bit 2). If a third alarm was added and enabled the Alarm Enable Value would change to 7 (1+2+4). If you disable the first alarm leaving just 2 & 3 Enabled the value would be 6 (2+4). The weighting of the 8 bits are: 1 2 4 8 16 32 64 128 When an alarm is not setup it defaults to 255, but if the alarm enables are all de-selected it will be 0. Although Plain English programs cannot write to this attribute you can change the alarm checking under different site conditions or by time of day using the Shunt alarm points 1-4, See Alarm Point Clarification.

Write to file notification - Create CSV file

Issue How to create a write to file notification that creates a comma separated value (CSV) file. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Enterprise Server (ES) Building Operation Automation Server (AS) Cause Write to file notification has options for Excel and text formats, but no option for CSV format. Resolution As the name suggests, Comma-separated values (CSV) is a text file format that uses commas to separate values, and newlines to separate records. A CSV file stores tabular data (numbers and text) in plain text, where each line of the file typically represents one data record. This means that the text format can be selected in in the notification to provide a CSV file.   Building Operation 1.7 and earlier Under file name, use the extension .csv. See screenshot below:   This will produce a .csv file located in your database folder under the Notification folder.   Building Operation 1.8 and later With the introduction of "Variable Triggered Notifications" and "Alarm Triggered Notifications," users can now find the Write to File option within the "Distribution method" in the Triggered Notification Object. Within the Configure Write to File window, users will have the option to save the file with the .csv extension.   Using write to file option to save Text file with .csv extension This will produce a .csv file located in your database folder under the Notification Files folder.  File location in the system tree   For additional information and guidance, refer to the Notifications topic in EBO WebHelp.

Robertshaw T99 temperature sensor integration to SBO

Issue Can the old Robertshaw T99 temperature sensors be integrated to SBO? Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation, TAC IA Series Environment SBO all versions Cause Retrofit job installation Resolution According to the RTD-DI-16 specification sheet, the T99 sensor can be integrated to SBO as follows with some limitations. Configuration Use an RTD-DI-16 module with a 2 or 3 wire RTD resistive input. Select 1000 ohm for the Sensor class property of the RTD input object. Configure the Conversion Settings properties of the RTD input object near the endpoints of the temperature range to be measured using values from the T99 temperature/resistance table. Configure the remaining properties of the RTD input as needed. Limitations Input Range. An RTD-DI-16 input configured for 1000 ohm operation is limited to an input resistance range of 500 to 2200 ohms. This will limit the temperature range that can be measured with a T99 sensor to ~115 deg. F maximum. Linearity Error. Depending on the range of temperatures to be measured and the needs of the application, linearity error may be significant. This can be corrected by using a script or function block program to linearize the signal based on the T99 temperature/resistance table values.

Not possible to bind Function Block to RelinquishDefault of a BACnet Multistate value in an SE8000 controller

Issue It is not possible to bind a point in a Function Block program to the RelinquishDefault property of a BACnet Multistate value in an SE8000 controller. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment StruxureWare Building Operation(SBO) 1.6.1 SE-8000 series Room Controller Cause In some circumstances the user may wish to change the value from both the HMI in SE8000 and from a Function block program in SBO, and in this case the RelinquishDefault property must be used. Resolution A possible workaround is to use a LUA script in the SE8000 controller. Idea 1: Write a LUA script that will check if the Priority array (ex. priority 16) value has changed for the list of points that the user wants to modify. If there is an entry in the Priority array, have the LUA script copy that value to Relinquish_default, then relinquish the corresponding priority array entry. Idea 2: There are 6 LUA "scratchpad" BACnet AVs that the user can write too. When the LUA script sees a change in those AVs, it can copy the value to a specific AV's relinquish default. For example, scratchpad AV25 can be used to "shadow" a setpoint. So when AV25 changes, the LUA script will copy the present value of AV25 into the Relinquish_default of whatever the Setpoint's AV is. Example of the LUA script in the SE8000 controller for the above: If value AV25 is bigger than 0, the value of AV25 is written on AV39 Relinquish_default property (priority17) and then AV25 is set to 0. if ME.AV25 > 0 then ME.AV39_Present_Value[17] = (ME.AV25/10); end ME.AV25 = 0 LUA programming guide for SE8000 Room controllers

Alarm Routing configuration to 2 servers for a Sigma - StruxureWare Building Operation transition

Issue Correct alarm routing configuration when using both Sigma and StruxureWare Building Operation together following a transition Environment Sigma and StruxureWare Building Operation transition Cause This article is to show the correct configuration when sending alarms to both the Sigma Client and StruxureWare Building Operation following a transition. Resolution In addition to the main Sigma Server add the ES server as a Server (node) on the Sigma network. We recommend using the actual ES server name. In the example below Server 101 is the Sigma Server and Server 102 is the ES   Manually add a dummy Sigma Client for the ES and assign the ES server to the client   Check the settings for the existing Sigma Server   Add both clients to the routesets to enable alarms to be sent to both servers. Download the routeset.rec and att.set files to all outstations

Memory and System Memory in the AS

Issue Memory and System Memory in the AS Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Automation Server Building Operation Automation Server Premium Building Operation Automation Server Bundled Cause What is the definition of the two different memory types shown in the AS? It is not clearly defined in the documentation. In various places, one can see Memory and System Memory, or even add a column to show.  Resolution For the AS, System Memory is the RAM used by the AS Linux OS. The rest of the memory is what is being used for the processes, such as programs, trends, etc. Memory is the amount of memory consumed by the AS (nsp_servers application), system memory is that used by the Linux OS, however there is much debate about how this is calculated and allocated, so too much should not be read into this, it is there primarily for developers.

When the "Concurrent" page is opened on the License website(http://localhost:8888) a "B" is always shown in the top of the list.

Issue Why is "B" shown in the Concurrent license feature list in the License Server Interface (http://localhost:8888) Dashboard?   Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation License Server Cause The Flexera framework requires at least 1 licensed feature to be present when installing a license server for it to start correctly. In this phase there aren't any licensed features so a dummy feature is created. Resolution It can be ignored as it is just a dummy license used for the installation.
