Heat pump Control with Two stages Auxiliary heating

Issue Unable to use SE8650 to control heat pump with a two Stages Furnace (auxiliary heat) Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation, EcoStruxure Building Expert Environment Building Operation Workstation Building Operation Automation Server SSL SE8000 Cause Only one output is available in the SE8650 for Auxiliary heating Resolution A simple solution would be to Wire both Furnace W1 and W2 to the SE8650 W1 terminal, and both will be on at the same time Both furnace stages will be activated as a single stage from the same output Or a more advanced option would be to use a LUA Script to control the second stage of Auxiliary heating. See the below example using the SE8650 UO11 terminal

After upgrading to 1.93 the Live Event Viewer will only show the Alias of the Door and not the Name even though the column is configured to show the Name

Issue Live Eventview not showing name after upgrade. Environment CyberStation Cause Unsure. Resolution The problem went away when the database was updated with enhanced alarm delivery turned on.

Get alarm "The digital signature does not match".

Issue Every time the trendlog data should be viewed an alarm saying" The digital signature does not match, values might not be reliable". How can we avoid this? Environment Vista 4.4.2 Cause In old Vista versions like Vista 4.4.x we had something called Digital signature to check that the data in the SQL database had not been tampered with. This have been taken away in later Vista version as it slowed down and caused problems with trendlogs. The alarm indicates that someone have done something in the SQL database and the digital signature does not match.   Resolution It is possible to turn off the Digital signature in the Vista server setup under the SQL tab and then restart the Vista server. Then Vista will not do this check and the alarm should not appear.

Issue Could not start the TAC Xenta 102-AX LonWorks PlugIn, due to an Error message. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation. Environment EcoStruxure Building Operation Workstation. TAC Xenta 102 AX Cause EcoStruxure Building Operation does not support online PlugIns, as LNS is running in the background, without any communication port.. If selecting to Synchronize (Upload or Download) you will get an error message. Resolution Select "Skip" synchronize.

Webstation - TGML picture does not show special character as åäö

Issue Some web browsers can not show special extended ASCII letters like åäö  Environment Vista Webstation Cause When logging in to webstation from a PC and the TGML can not show special characters this is because a temp file has not been downloaded correctly. Resolution In the TGML window there should be a refresh button, click it and the temp file should be downloaded permanently, this should make special characters work again.

Issue When the valve is installed, it is impossible to see the direction of the sleeve Environment VTRE 7317039000 7317041000 7317045000 7317049000 7317053000 7317057000 7317061000 7317065000 7317067000 7317069000 Cause In order to know the position of the sleeve inside the valve, you need to know the relationship between the sleeve and the "cut" on the stem. Resolution The cut in the stem indicates the position of the sleeve. If the cut is at 3 o'clock, the port at 3 o'clock is closed.

Forta series actuators with IP65

Issue Is it possible to order a Forta actuator with IP class 65? Environment Forta series actuator M400 M800 M1500 M3000 Cause Some environments are requiring a higher than normal IP rating. Resolution Unfortunately the design of the Forta actuators are only IP classed to IP54. No IP65 version is available. An additional weatherproof bag may be added to cover the actuator. However, such bags needs to be purchased from other sources as they are not part of our portfolio.

What's the best way to restore a full SIGNAL database from version 4.4.1 (Windows 95/98) to version 5.0.0 (Windows XP)?

Issue Customer did a full backup of a SIGNAL 4.4.1 installation.  A full backup is data, bitmaps, and executable files.  The computer hardware was replaced along with the operating system to Windows XP 32-bit.  The customer has SIGNAL version 5.0.0. Environment SIGNAL Cause Computer hardware replacement Resolution There are a couple of ways to restore the database.  Here is a simple method: - Install SIGNAL 5.0.0 - Restore the full backup from version 4.4.1 (this step overwrites all the executable files of 5.0.0) - Re-install SIGNAL 5.0.0 (this last step will update all the executables back to version 5.0.0) The license file, signal.dcf, may need to be checked to ensure it is for version 5.0.0.

Issue What is the part number & price for a SmartStruxure/Network 8000 driver or a SmartStruxure/Signal driver? Environment SmartStruxure Network 8000 Signal Cause Job estimating Resolution There is no Network 8000 driver or Signal as there is with I/A Series Niagara. The conversion process is performed at no cost when converting an I/A Series R2 database,  Network 8000 GCM or Signal to SmartStruxure via the "TAC I/A Series Conversions Projects" link on the iPortal2 web site.

SE7xxxx Room Controller Password

Issue Unable to access the SE7xxx Room Controller configuration parameters menu - displays an error code. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Expert, Field Devices  Environment SE7xxx Room controller SE7000 Series Ex. Viconics branding VT7000 Series Cause The display shows an error code when used, this is indicating a password is required, an example of the error code may be 977 or 996. Resolution Contact your region's Customer Care Center for a temporary password. The error code which is unique to that controller will be required by the Customer Care Center to calculate the temporary password. Note for PSS; Check Internal article.

Controller status not updating in "View All Hardware" window

Issue In Access Expert's 'View All Hardware' window, the status of controllers does not update. For example, controllers say 'Online' even though they are actually 'Offline' and vice versa. Live Monitoring window does not show disconnect/online events. Issue Troubleshooting Heat Meter installations (also Cooling or Flow meter) Environment Heat cooling or flow meter installation Kamstrup Cause Troubleshooting Heat Meter installations (also Cooling or Flow meter) when there is a problem with the values being measured Resolution To aid Product Support please supply the following information 1. Sketch of the installation, including physical details of pipe size, lengths and bend details plus any local valves etc. 2. Schematic sketch showing positions of Boilers/Chillers, Pumps, meters and sensors. 3. Photo of the installation if possible 4. Details of the media, maximum/minimum temperature, nominal flow and system pressure 5. What BMS is connected to the meter? Running NOTE Were no flow or little flow is seen, there may be air within the system, even if the "Air in System" info is not given on the meter.

Microsoft Licensing for SmartStruxure Report Server

Issue How many SQL client licenses to run SQL if SQL 2008 is used to run Report Server? When Report Server is installed, is there a connection between SQL and the Enterprise Server. Environment Report Server Licensing Cause Licenses must be purchased for supporting software (OS, SQL, etc). Resolution Because SQL and Report Server have to be running on the same machine, there is only one sequel user that requires licensing.  There is no connection between the Enterprise Server and SQL when Report Server is installed.

Issue On a SE7600 controller, is the nciSccModel snvt read-only or will it modify the controller's profile?  Customer has replaced the HVAC equipment such that the existing profile does not match up with the existing SE7600. Environment SE7600 VT7600 Cause Mechanical equipment was replaced with a different design Resolution The nciSccModel snvt does not modify the SE7600 profile.  It is a read-only. A different model of controller is the best option for the new mechanical design. An external solution may also work (i.e. the use of a relay).

Issue The Continuum Database Transition Tool does not transition the doors even though they are present in the Continuum database being transitioned   Product Line Security Expert Environment Security Expert Server Cause Incorrect configuration of the Continuum Transition Tool Resolution In the 'Record Types' tab of the Continuum Transition Tool, there is a checkbox labeled 'Include Anti passback Programming' If the doors on the Continuum system are configured for anti-pass-back then the checkbox has to be ticked to match the Continuum configuration of the doors.
