Migrating Users from SP-C-WEB to Security Expert

Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support for assistance. Issue Require details on how to migrate Users from an SP-C-WEB to Security Expert. Product Line Security Expert Environment SP-C-WEB Security Expert Cause Have a site that has outgrown it's SP-C-WEB installation and is upgrading to Security Expert to expand. Resolution Door configuration and programming cannot be migrated from an SP-C-WEB installation to Security Expert, but the User database can be exported to a CSV file and then imported into Security Expert to help with the migration. Exporting User database from SP-C-WEB to CSV file From the SP-C-WEB user interface navigate to Users | User Search. In the User Search page on the top right (under date) is the Export button. Clicking the Export button will generate a .csv file of all User details. (See attached example Exported Users.zip) Editing User CSV file for importing into Security Expert The Security Expert User import requires the CSV file to be in a specific format: FirstName,LastName,FullName,Facility,Card,PIN,AccessLevel The rules for this format are that: Each field must have a value however the firstname/lastname can be omitted if the fullname is used and vice versa. The facility can be omitted if it is prepended to the card number and separated with a colon (eg 123:4567). If a matching Access Level is not found, a new access level is created. The PIN and Card must be unique for each user. The file cannot contain a header row. Some examples of correctly formatted data are: Joe, Stanley,Joe Stanley,123,4587,1418,Warehouse Staff Georgia, Smith,,123,4654,6884,Warehouse Staff ,,Billy Randall,123,4727,3492,Warehouse Staff Frank,Powell,,,123:4639,3160,Warehouse Staff Importing Users from a CSV File into Security Expert In the Security Expert Client navigate to Sites | Import Users to launch the Import Users Wizard. Browse to and select the CSV File you wish to import the users from, then click OK. Figure 1 - User Import Dialog The Users records are created and a message is displayed to indicate the action was successful.

Automation Server Time Format for Schneider Electric Energy Online Query Tool

Issue Schneider Electric Energy Online Query Tool requires log data collected to be in 24 hours time format. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment SmartStruxure Automation Server Cause The Automation Server time display format (24 hours or 12 hours) is dependent on the settings of the computer where the client application is installed. In StruxureWare Building Operation, this would normally be the WorkStation software. If the computer which the Workstation software is installed is set for 24 hours time format, then the AS date and time, Trend charts etc. will display the time in 24 hours format. Resolution The Query Tool documentation indicates that it gets data from the StruxureWare Building Operation server (in this case, an AS) and creates the required output format (CMEP, ERM or Vizelia). In this case, the Automation Server time format does not matter. It is the time format settings of the computer where the Query Tool is installed that matters. Ensure that the Query Tool computer time is in 24 hours format.

Master node in a Vista network.

Issue What is the role of the master node in a Vista network? Product Line TAC Vista Environment Vista server Cause In a network with several nodes (Operator units), one node is designated as the Master node of the database in the network Resolution The Master node is the node which contains the correct information about global objects. Information about global objects is controlled by the Master node, and if the information has changed, the other nodes (Slave nodes) will copy this information when they contact the Master node. So if the master is down the slaves cannot add/delete any global objects such as users. The other nodes will continue working normally even if the master is down.

"Error getting root folder name" when launching Personnel Manager

Issue Personnel Manager displays "Error getting root folder name" when launching. Product Line Andover Continuum Environment CyberStation Personnel Manager (PIM) Cause At boot time, Personnel Manager queries the ContinuumDB to find the Root container by ID using the following SQL query: SELECT uiname FROM Dictionary WHERE objectidhi = 0 AND objectidlo = 536870913  "Error getting root folder name" will be generated if PIM is unable to access the ContinuumDB or can not find the root object for any other reason. Resolution The User account control slider on a Windows 7 PC will need to be moved all the way to the bottom. Check/resolve for database connectivity errors. Make sure Firewall settings are not preventing the PIM from getting to the SQL server. If the problem persists try the following:   Check to see if Badgemanager.exe is starting. This can be used to restore the registry key if necessary. Windows 7: HKey_Local_Machine\Software\WoW6432Mode\ImageWare Systems\EpiBuilder Right Click the same registry branch from step c and select Delete Reboot the PC Reinstall EpiBuilder by going to My Computer or Windows explorer, double click on C:\Program Files\Continuum\EpiBuilder\SDK\InstallEpiBuilder.bat Note: This runs very quickly Start Cyber and open a badge in Personnel Manager If using a VBScript File to redirect communication between principal DB server to mirror DB server, coding may need to be updated. Example: x32 vs x64 bit coding differences For x32: strRegName = "HKLM\Software\Andover Controls\Continuum\Primary Database\Server" strRegData = WshShell.RegRead(strRegName) For x64: strRegName = "HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Andover Controls\Continuum\Primary Database\Server" strRegData = WshShell.RegRead(strRegName)
