Adding a Xenta Server to a Vista System for I/NET to Vista Integration

Issue Adding a Xenta Server to a Vista System for I/NET to Vista Integration Product Line TAC INET, TAC Vista Environment I/NET Vista Xenta 527 I2V Cause For systems with both I/NET security and Vista HVAC, this allows for a single point to monitor alarms. Resolution At least one of the routers on the I/NET system must be a Xenta 527 Web Server. Start Vista Server Open Vista Workstation Right click on the Vista Server object and select New>Device>Xenta 527 Name the Device Right Click on the Xenta Server Object and select Edit. XBuilder will open  If your 527 already has an XBuilder Project File   Select Project>Get From Target Enter the IP address of the 527 and the root password Select Get the Full Project Click on the I/NET object and verify settings have imported   If your 527 does not already have an XBuilder Project File Click on the TAC_Xenta_527 root object in the Network Pane Add the TCP/IP and SMTP settings as required Click on the I/NET object Add the I/NET link information and reference hosts Right click on the I/NET object and select Insert TAC I/NET Network Click Add Files Add all save files for that link Click Ok Select Vista Database>Save   You will need to repeat this process for all I/NET links to have full I/NET integration into Vista. See Additional settings necessary to receive Vista Alarms from an I/NET point to configure Alarms.

Error writing to device when trying to make changes to Xenta 121

Issue After making changes to Xenta 121 in ZBuilder and clicking OK or Apply an error is returned that says: Error writing to device - Errors occurred while writing to the device. Database and device may not be synchronized. Please download values from database and restart device manually Environment Xenta 121-FC,  Xenta 121-HP Vista Workstation ZBuilder Cause This error can occur if Vista is unable to connect to the Xenta 121 controller. Resolution Ensure that the Xenta 121 controller is powered on and that there is a reliable connection to the controller. To verify that the controller is talking to Vista either right click on the controller in Vista and select properties then click on the Neuron Status tab and check that the state is Configured, online. Alternatively, this can be checked in LonMaker by right clicking the device and selecting Properties and then clicking the Attributes tab. The State should say Configured, Online.

Issue  "Maximum IOU/Infinet controllers reached" when adding an IOU module or Infinet controller. Environment IOU module Infinet controller Cause This generally means exactly what the message states. You have a node limited controller and you have reached the maximum number of nodes. Resolution Edit the controller through Continuum Explorer Click on the options tab. Verify the node counts on the controller on the options tab. If you have reached the maximum number of nodes contact the repair department to get a node upgrade flash file. There is a cost associated with this option.

How many member objects can be added to a Continuum Report?

Issue The documentation does not specify how many  objects can be added in the filter tab of a report. Environment Cyberstation Workstation creating a Report Cause Adding too many objects produces the following error: "There are too many objects in the filter Member Objects lists." Resolution The maximum number of member objects you can add to a report is 150 objects. Exceeding 150 will produce the above error.

Synchronizing time with a DVR

Issue Synchronizing time with a DVR Environment DVR CCTV I/NET Cause PC time on the DVR is behind the PC time on the I/NET Seven system.   Resolution When an event occurs in a Digital Video Recorder that is interfaced with I/NET Seven and you want to see the associated video with this event it is possible that no video will appear without searching manually. This occurs when the PC time on the DVR is behind the PC time on the I/NET Seven system. During configuration of the interface it should be verified that both computers are using the same time settings to include current time and time zone. These can be set either manually or if additional precision is necessary through the use of a NTP server.

From the Monitor (the main MPM), I can pick up values from other MPM, but the other MPM could not pick up values from the Monitor.

Issue From the Monitor (DEV100) it is possible to pick up values from other MPMs, by the use of an LUA script. Example: ME.AV1 = DEV200.AV1 But, it is not possible for another device to pick up values from the Monitor (DEV100) device. Environment MPM Cause The Monitor device (DEV100) could see all other MPM in the network, and therefore could get values from other devices. Other devices will only see devices that are below itself in the tree structure, and will therefore not be able to get values from the Monitor device. Resolution The Monitor device (DEV100) have to handle all the transfers of variables both from MPM below, as well as sending variables to MPM devices below in the tree structure. Example: ME.AV1 = DEV200.AV1 DEV200.AV2 = ME.AV2

Door points defined in the I/NET system do not show up in the Door Summary page

Issue I have door points defined in the I/NET system, but they do not show up in the Door Summary page. What is wrong? Environment I/NET Access Control Cause As part of the Access Control database process, before any Door configuration can be done they must be saved within the SQL database, and more specifically within I/NET's Network Configuration. Within the Network Configuration, the Door Names can be different to the Point Names, its these Door Names that are then used within the I/NET Access Control Database. Resolution In addition to meeting all the door point criteria, the points must also have been saved in the Network Configuration Editor before they will appear in the door summary list.

Issue ACWPPServerProxy applet is constantly flashing on webClient Environment ACWPPServerProxy applet webClient Loopback Cause This typically happens on a Stand Alone configuration on Windows. Resolution The solution is to add the loopback address onto the IIS server by taking the following steps. Open IIS Manager Expand Web Sites> Right Click on Default Web Site and select Properties Click the Advanced button to the right of the IP address field Click the Add button and enter the IP: 127.0.0.1 and the port: 80, Click OK, OK Stop and Start IIS Launch Webclient and the ACWPPServerProxy applet will no longer flash. Restart the webclient PC If you are using Windows 7, Vista or Windows Server 2008 the IIS interface is different. Open IIS Manager (the non 6.0 version) from Administrative Tools Expand Sites> Left click on Default Web Site In the far right column called Actions, locate the Bindings link Select Bindings and click the Add button then enter 127.0.0.1 into the IP address field (leave other defaults) Click Ok, Close With Default Web site still selection select "Restart" Under the Actions column to restart IIS Launch Webclient and the ACWPPServerProxy applet will no longer flash. Restart the webclient PC

If your calculation is comparing a point on a different channel than where the calculation resides you will need to modify the sending points global level Resolution Connect to the controller Select Edit>Controller>Resident I/O Locate the Point you are using in your calculation Modify the point Set the Global Level to "LAN" Click OK Modify the point that has the calculation extension Change it to Internal Click OK

Replacement for actuator M6B.

Issue Since the actuator M6B is no longer available in our portfolio, a replacement actuator is requested. Environment M6B VTRM Cause Replacing the obsolete M6B actuator. Resolution There is no replacement actuator for the M6B in the Schneider Electric portfolio. However, the manufacturer ESBE (http://www.esbe.se/) should still have the M6B in their portfolio in both 0-10V and 4-20mA versions. No cross reference to their part numbers are currently available.

Issue The vertical scale (y-axis) in an R2 chart/log is limited to the range of 0 - 0.2, but the values in the log/ table are of a much wider range; e.g. 0.66 - 87.33. Environment R2 chart/ log data Cause Initial testing shows that the y-axis scaling issue is caused by data value of NA in the log table. Resolution As a work around, backup the station, export the .xml file. Search it for data = NaN.  Edit the line in the file so the data no longer shows NaN.

How can this warning be corrected? Environment Niagara G3 Cause This service is for a product line, offered by Tridium, that is no longer available. Resolution Remove the platAccess module from the ENC and reboot.
