Can the Personnel Import Utility update existing Personnel only and not create new Personnel objects if they do not already exist?

Issue Can the Personnel Import Utility update existing Personnel only and not create new Personnel objects if they do not already exist? Environment Personnel Import Utility PIU Cause Need to be able to only modify existing Personnel and not create new ones when performing Personnel import with the PIU. Resolution The way the PIU handles this, to modify existing Personnel or if none exists to create a new one, is "functions as designed". There is no way to stop a new Personnel object from being created when it is unique.

Transferring a negative value from an analog value to a multistate using object transfer.

Issue When transferring a value from an analog value to a multistate using object transfer, negative values are inverted. Environment Vista Object Transfers Cause A problem in the Vista software. Resolution This value with need to be converted in Menta first, then connected to the object transfer. The steps to convert the value in Menta are: Select the TAC Xenta device in Vista. Right-click the device and select "Edit". Add an AI block and connect it to a ConversionAA operator. Connect the ConversionAA operator to a DELI block. Edit the DELI block - give the variable a name (Identifier) and make sure the "Public" checkbox is ticked. Save and close the Menta application. Commission and download the updated Mental application. Connect the new variable created in step 5 to the "Object Transfer" object.

TAC Vista does not handle network addresses

Issue TAC Vista does not handle network addresses Environment TAC Vista Cause When you used LNS in older version of TAC Vista there was a checkbox in in the network object that had to be unchecked so that TAC Vista would not overwrite address table information and address information when downloading application. This setting is still there and if you have a upgraded system sometimes this is left unchecked. Resolution Hold down ctrl-shift and select properties on the network object. Check the checkbox "ADDRMGMT"

Sigma – Analogue Input Channels Display Incorrect Values

Issue Analogue input (AI) channels are not displaying the correct values. Product Line Satchwell BAS & Sigma Environment Sigma Analogue Input Cause The issue is observed across multiple analogue input channels, cards, and controllers. This widespread behavior suggests the root cause is likely external to the individual AI objects or hardware components. Resolution Follow the steps below to isolate and resolve the issue: Scenario 1: Issue Occurs on a Single Controller Isolate Inputs: Disconnect all inputs to the AI card except one. Use a known resistive input for testing. Test Input Stability: Replace the connected analogue input with a fixed resistor. Observe the reading—if it stabilizes, investigate the other inputs for faults. Verify Voltage Reading: Change the object lookup table entry to 2000 . Measure the voltage across the resistor. Compare the measured voltage with the maximum input voltage (2V). Example: If measured voltage = 1.5V Calculation: 1.52.0=0.75×100=75\frac{1.5}{2.0} = 0.75 \times 100 = 752.01.5=0.75×100=75 The AI object should display 75. Check Earthing: Ensure the controller’s earth bar is properly connected to a good earth. Hardware Checks: If the issue persists, consider replacing the AI card. If unresolved, consider replacing the CPU card. Scenario 2: Issue Occurs on Multiple AI Cards in One Controller Repeat Isolation Steps: Disconnect all AI inputs on all cards. Connect only one resistive input to a single card and observe behavior. Repeat Steps 3–5 from Scenario 1. Scenario 3: Issue Occurs Across Multiple Controllers Check Earthing: Confirm all controller earth bars are securely connected to a good earth. Inspect Power Supply Boards: Older power supply boards (especially in BAS-to-Sigma upgrades) may cause various issues. Overheating of voltage regulator ICs due to loose securing bolts can lead to ‘current limit’ mode. Action: Retighten bolts securing the regulator tabs and TO3-type regulators. Allow the heatsink to cool down.

Issue When using Workplace Tech 5.x, after clicking on a help button assigned to various objects, the following pop-up message appears:  “Cannot find the WPTech5.hlp file. Do you want to try to find this file yourself?” Environment WorkPlace Tech 5.x Cause The file in question was removed, but not all shortcuts were updated to point to the new document. Resolution The link should have pointed to the “WPT 5.7 Engineering Guide Supplement .pdf”, which is located in the WorkPlace Tech\Help folder. “.hlp” files, referred to as “Windows Help” files, are not supported in Vista, and are problematic in XP. That is why it was replaced with the functionality of Adobe documentation. As a temporary solution, create a desktop shortcut to the .pdf file for quick access.

Momentary Start/Stop object OutStrt output property remains ON without pulsing off in MNB controller

Issue The Momentary Start / Stop (SS) object in a MNB controller is not working. The OutStrt output property remains ON and does not pulse off. Product Line TAC IA Series Environment MNB controllers Cause Application programming Resolution The OnPulse input property is set higher than the required minimum of 2 seconds.  In order for the logical outputs to work (OutStrt & OutStp), physical hardware tags must be assigned to the physical outputs (AddrStrt & AddrStp).  This is required when using the Momentary SS object in any MNB controller. The following logic can be used in place of the Momentary SS object to generate an equivalent OnPulse.

How are average values calculated in Infinity Trend Logs.

Issue How does Continuum calculate the average value when a point is configured with an Average LogType. Environment Log TrendI Infinity Controller NetController CX i2 TCX SCX Cause It is often important for the end user to know how log values are calculated in cases where trend log data may be audited. Resolution Point values are sampled stored and calculated at the controllers level, not at the Cyberstation level.  The point logging process is not dependent on the scan time of the controller and is therefore unaffected by a controllers scan time. The controller stores the most recent data polled as its data sample. The smallest interval that we can log data is 1 second.  Even when an average log type is selected, a log with a 1 second interval is essentially a non averaged log since each calculation would take one sample/second and divide it by interval in seconds (1). With points logged with an average log type at intervals that are > 1 second, each second the most recent data sample added to the summed value. The sample values are added together, (each new sample is added to the stored sample value) and the sum is divided by the number of samples taken (which would also equal the number of seconds in the log interval).  A controller calculates average point values using a weighted average algorithm at the end of the log interval period. A controller does not retain data samples when the log period ends, but rather it begins to assemble a completely new collection of sample data at the start of each interval period.
