Offline activation of embedded licenses

Issue How to activate an embedded license for a SmartX Server using the Device Administrator when the computer with the Device Administrator is not connected to the internet. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Automation Server Premium (AS-P) Cause Device Administrator is used to manage licenses on SmartX servers The following features of a SmartX server need licenses: SmartDrivers SNMP Notifications Personal Dashboards TimescaleDB MQTT Resolution Building Operation 2022 Note: The offline entry of the Activation-ID License items is not all visible - ONLY the first 5 are shown.  This makes entering this information impossible. This has been fixed in the Maintenance Release 4.0.2 of the Device Administrator.  After activating the embedded license offline and transferring this license to the servers, a license violation may be still shown.  The license status should update within 24 hours.  Perform a warm start and then a Refresh License Status on the selected servers to force this update.   If an error is seen in the progress status indicating ASEmbeddedAPI internal error during the offline activation, check the following Embedded license activation fails - Communities to correct the corrupted storage.   This video will show how to activate an embedded license for a SmartX Server using the Device Administrator when the computer with the Device Administrator and/or the server is not connected to the internet. IMPORTANT NOTES: You need to be connected to the SpaceLogic (SmartX) Server using IP (select +Add server on Device Administrator).  It cannot be connected via USB. Ensure always to run the Device Administrator with admin privileges. Select "Run as administrator." Should Device Administrator be running on a computer that has internet access, then there is no need to swap between online/offline computers.  The offline activation process can be run from the same Device Administrator with no need to change computers.  The offline workflow is always the same and detailed on the webhelp topic Offline Activation of Licenses Workflow  The video below shows version 3 licenses. In Version 4, there are a few more license features and quantities required to enter.  The following article may assist in entering this information. License Features list for version 3.0 and 4.0 Product names     At the end of the video session, you will be able to: Create a request file using the Device Administrator on an offline (to the Internet) computer. Activate request files from the Device Administrator on a PC connected to the internet. Send response files to the SmartX Server from the offline Device Administrator.

Time Synchronization of the ES and AS

Issue Trouble synchronizing the time of the Automation Server or Enterprise Server to a NTP server or between each other Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment EcoStruxure Building Operation Enterprise Server EcoStruxure Building Operation Automation Server Cause The Enterprise Server and the Automation Server (ASP/ASB) do not synchronize time to each other, they must use an NTP server for synchronization Resolution The information below is mainly concerned with synchronizing the time setting but not the actual time.   Overview To synchronize the server times an NTP Server will be required, they do not synchronize time with each other. A common misconception is that the Automation Servers sync time with the Enterprise Server via server-to-server communications. To find an external NTP server consult support.ntp.org . Alternatively, an existing internal NTP server can be used or consult Setting up a Local / Internal NTP Server to configure the Enterprise Server computer as a time server The time settings on the Enterprise Server are configured through the operating system settings on the computer where Enterprise Central is installed.  EcoStruxure Building Operation cannot be used to configure the NTP server for the Enterprise Server. Please refer to Network Time on WorkStation, Enterprise Server, and Enterprise Central To find the Network Time Protocol (NTP) configured on a WorkStation, Enterprise Server, or Enterprise Central computer open a command prompt and enter w32tm /query /peers. If configured the peer NTP server(s) will be listed If you need to ensure an NTP server is actually running on certain IP or DNS address, please reference Ensure IP or DNS address is valid NTP server The time settings on the Automation Servers can only be configured via the Workstation. As per the image they can be configured to look at an NTP server (1) or set manually (2). For synchronization, they must use an NTP Server. Please refer to  Network Time Server on an Automation Server on Webhelp Starting in version 1.5, the time adjustment depends on how much the Automation Server drifts from the NTP server. The faster the Automation Server drifts, the more frequently the time is updated.  Please refer to How often will an Automation Server ask the NTP server for the time?  If the time server is a URL, such as time.nist.gov, then it is critical that a Primary DNS is set for each Automation Server, and possibly a Secondary DNS via Device Administrator. Without a DNS, the Automation Server will be unable to resolve the URL to an IP address. Please refer to Configuring the Automation Server IP Address on Webhelp The time displayed for a server in Workstation (Properties -> Basic) will reflect the time zone of the local computer that Workstation is installed on. All events and alarms will be automatically modified to match the time of the workstation that was used to log into the server. The "Server time" will represent the date and time of the server adjusted to client local time zone, while the fields below "Server time" represent the settings of the Automation Server.   How to synchronize date and time settings on multiple Automation Servers   IMPORTANT: Only the time settings are synchronized via the Lead/Shadow configuration, the time itself IS NOT synchronized via the Lead/Shadow but rather by all servers synchronizing with the configured timer server.   The synchronizing of multiple Automation servers can be achieved with a lead/shadow relationship. The primary and secondary network time server settings for connected shadow Automation servers are defined on the Enterprise server. Setting up the Primary and secondary time servers in the Enterprise Server only passes those configuration settings to the AS controllers, it does not send the actual time and date value.   Select the Enterprise server (1), click the Date & Time tab (2), select Enable (3) and enter the Primary time server (4) and, if used, the Secondary time server (5) the Automations Servers will use. Ensutre the time zone for the Enterprise Server is set correctly (6).   Save the settings  From EBO version 2.0 all Automations Servers are automatically configured to shadow the date and time settings configured in the Enterprise Server. To verify this expand the System folder of an Automation Server and select Time Settings -> Date and Time (1). Observe the Date and Time are Shadow-Read only (2), replicating the Enterprise Server settings. Attempting to change any of the settings, other than the Lead object (3), will result in an error. All the Automation Servers will be 'looking' to the same Primary (4) and Secondary time servers, i.e. they will all receive the same time and be synchronized Similarly, select the Time Zone (1) of the Automation Server in the System Tree; this will also be shadow-read only (2). The lead object is set to the Time Zone on the Enterprise Server (3) Before EBO version 2.0 the Automation Servers were not automatically set to shadow the Enterprise Server settings but this could easily be achieved en masse using Search . In the Search box in the top right corner of the Workstation, type "Date and Time" and click Search (1) to find the date and time object of all connected servers. In the Search view select the servers (2) that require their Date and Time settings synchronized to the Enterprise Server, the Enterprise Server does not need selecting. Select the Time tab (3) and then click the triple dots (4) to navigate to and select the Date and Time object on the Enterprise Server (5)   You may need to stop and start the Enterprise server to get the configuration settings to pass down to the shadow Automation servers Note: To set up synchronization of the time zone settings follow the above search steps for date and time but search on Time Zone Tip/Tricks To see the time of on the Enterprise Server and multiple Automation Servers use the Search to find the Date and Time object (1). Individually select each server (2) and then drag the Date and Time object (3) into the Watch Window (4) It is the Automation Server that initiates the synchronization. To check the Automation Server communication settings select the Automation Server (1) and in the Communication tab (2) select the Enterprise Server (3) and make sure the Automation Server has the correct IP address (4) To check the Enterprise Server communication settings select the Enterprise Server (1) and in the Communication tab (2) select each Automation Server (3) and make sure the correct IP address is specified for each Automation Server (4).  If a firewall exists ensure that the ports are open so the Automation Server can connect to the Enterprise Server. Please search for the EcoStruxure Building Operation IT Reference Guide on Exchange for details Further Information Release 1.2.0 and higher Until the time is set, b3 data will not update in the Watch Window Until the time is set, BACnet COV will not be functional Automation Server time does not synchronize directly with the Enterprise Server. Instead, all servers can synchronize to the same accessible time server To adjust the Automation Server time, time zone, and DST, access to the Automation Server is through a WorkStation

Migrating PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB (ebo_db)

Issue How to migrate ebo_db from an old PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB PC to a new PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB PC Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment PostgreSQL TimescaleDB pgAdmin Building Operation Workstation Cause When using External log Storage (the TimescaleDB in PostgreSQL server) in EcoStruxure Building Operation, it is often required to migrate the TimescaleDB (ebo_db) to a new PC or a different HDD due to the hard-disk space issue.   Resolution Stop the External Log Storage (TimescaleDB) from all the EBO servers (ES & AS’s). Using the attached zip file, extract the XML TimescaleDB Search Export and import this to the root location of your server.   The resulting search results will provide ALL servers' Timescale objects and show the status of the Event and Trend configurations. allowing you to multi-select and change the Event and Trend configuration settings quickly.  Use the CRTL key to only select the relevant servers. Alternatively, follow the steps below to locate these properties manually.    Note the Export is for version 3.2.3 Expand the ES Server, expand the System folder, and expand the External Log Storage folder. Right-click the TimescaleDB and select the Properties. Disable the Event Configuration & Trend Configuration and save. Repeat the above operation for all the other servers (AS’s) that are enabled for the External Log Storage. Create a new database in the destination External Log Storage server PC using the “EBO External Log Storage Installer” tool. Refer to page 5 “Database Management” section of the “EBO External Log Storage Installer.pdf” document for detail. Backup the “ebo_db” from the source TimescaleDB server PC using the pgAdmin 4 (refer to https://www.pgadmin.org/docs/pgadmin4/development/backup_dialog.html ), or refer to page 8 “Backup” section of the “EBO External Log Storage Installer.pdf” document for detail. Copy the DB backup file to the destination TimescaleDB server PC and restore the database using the pgAdmin4 tool (refer to https://www.pgadmin.org/docs/pgadmin4/development/restore_dialog.html ). DB Restoration may take a couple of minutes to a couple of hours depending on the size of the database. DB restoration results may show an error caused by pre-existing information in some tables, but it can be ignored. Once DB restoration is completed, make sure to check the timestamp of the oldest log data and the latest log data to verify the result. Start the External Log Storage (TimescaleDB) from all the EBO servers (ES & AS’s) using the search provided in Step 1 or manually as follows: Expand the ES Server, expand the System folder, and expand the External Log Storage folder. Right-click the TimescaleDB and select the Properties. Change the Database name, Host address, User name, and Password for the new (destination) External Log Storage server PC Enable the Event Configuration & Trend Configuration and save. Repeat the above operation for all the other servers (AS’s) that were disabled in the above step 1.

Thermistor type selection in EBO

Issue Confusion over the thermistor type selection for an EBO Temperature Input object Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation I/O Module Building Operation Automation Server Bundled Building Operation Multi-purpose Controller (MPC) Building Operation Room Controller (RPC) Building Operation IP-IO Cause The Thermistor type selection lists sensor "Types" I through V     This is confusing since, for example, the Continuum sensor is listed as 10k Type I but in manufacturers literature and temperature vs resistance tables is often referred to as 10k Type 3 Resolution The reference to Thermistor 10k Type in the selection list is an internal reference and not intended to refer to the types listed in manufacturers literature and temperature vs resistance tables. For reference the selections refer to the following sensor types:   Thermistor 10k Type I (Continuum) – Thermistor 10K4A1 also referred to as 10K Type 3 - SpaceLogic Sensors (as SLASXXX, SLAWXXX and SLABXXX), STx5xx Sensors (see HVAC Sensor catalog for details) Thermistor 10k Type II (I/NET) – Thermistor 10K2A1 Dale/Vishay - STx20x Sensors (see HVAC Sensor catalog for details) Thermistor 10k Type III (Satchwell) – Thermistor 10K3A1 (No Longer Applicable for Satchwell sensors) Thermistor 10k Linearized (Satchwell DxT - Type T) - STx6xx Sensors (see HVAC Sensor catalog for details) Thermistor 10k Type IV (FD) – Thermistor 10K4A1 type ‘G’ (U.S. Sensor) Thermistor 10k Type V (FD w/ 11k shunt ) – Thermistor 10K type ‘G’ (U.S. Sensor) with external 11k ohm shunt resistor installed Thermistor 1.8k (Xenta) – Thermistor type 1.8KA1 - STx1xx Sensors (see HVAC Sensor catalog for details) Thermistor 1k (Balco) – (not a thermistor) RTD, 1000 ohm Balco Thermistor 20k (Honeywell) – Thermistor 20K6A1 type H Thermistor 2.2k (Johnson Controls) – 2.2K3A1   Refer to the Temperature Sensor Resistance Charts Knowledge Base article for temperature vs resistance charts for these sensor types and others.

Infinet and MSTP bus troubleshooting

Issue Troubleshooting steps for the Infinet and MSTP bus. Product Line Andover Continuum, EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Continuum SmartStruxure RS-485 Infinet BACnet MSTP Cause Methods are needed to troubleshoot the Infinet and MSTP bus Resolution This is not a comprehensive list of all methods for troubleshooting, but a starting point. The Infinit-mstp troubleshooting document is available here. NOTE If BACnet MSTP devices do not support COV subscriptions, then care must be taken when reading values (eg EBO trends or alarms) as excessive traffic can be created that overwhelms the communication bus. For example, if 30 non-COV BACnet devices have EBO alarms (or EBO change of value trends) bound to 4 objects in each controller, this will create 240 packets (reads/replies) that will be attempted every "Minimum polling Interval". This is likely to fill the MSTP bus bandwidth

SSL Self-signed Certificates - Security Certificate Risk warning logging in WebStation using HTTPS

Issue After installing a self-signed certificate via Internet explorer as detail in article  SSL Certificates - Security Certificate Risk warning logging in to WorkStation or WebStation using HTTPS  There is still a warning in Chrome and Firefox that the site is "Not secure" This warning is not seen in the earlier versions of Internet Explorer but from version 11 it is also seen in Internet Explorer. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment WebStation Cause Different browsers have different policies to Self-signed Certificates and display a different warning, but still use HTTPS. These policies may change over time, but it is not something that can be controlled Without a neutral and recognized third party—such as a certificate authority—verifying certificate ownership, a certificate is meaningless. To better understand, when doing something like creating an HTTPS connection you have the following chain: A client web browser making the request to the server. The remote web server sending data back to the client. And an HTTPS certificate authorized by a neutral 3rd party that vouches that the server is who it is and the encryption is valid because of that. A self-signed certificate is inherently untrusted because anyone can generate a self-signed certificate. Anyone including an entity that deliberately pretends to be something/someone they aren’t. With a self-signed certificate there is simply no trusted third party that has the basic human procedures set to simply state, “Okay, this domain has a certificate we issued them and thus you can trust them. We say they are in fact the domain the claim to be and not an imposter.” And since anyone in the world can create a self-signed certificate on their own, it’s usage has inherent trust issues. What makes a certificate valid has very little to do with deep technology or encryption techniques but what makes it valid is a process centered around a neutral—and recognized—third party validating a usage procedure and browser makers adhering to respect of those procedures. At the end of the day, an encryption key pair is an utterly meaningless pile of bits and bytes without the enforcement of the processes and procedures that surround them. Resolution Internet Explorer - No warning Chrome - "Not Secure" shown Firefox - Initially a "Your connection is not secure" warning is seen "10.158.7xx.xxx:xxx uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed. Error code: MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_SELF_SIGNED_CERT" Add Exception, allows access as below   The best way to permanently remove the warning is to pay for a certificate from a certificate authority. See this forum post on how to get generate and add a certificate from a certificate authority

Resetting an EBO License System

Issue How to reset an existing EBO Licensing installation Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Licensing Cause Most of the time, issues with damaged or corrupted EBO Licenses can be resolved by simply returning and re-registering the affected License, either manually or with the help of Product Support. However, on some occasions, this is not enough, as the actual Licensing installation is affected.  Even re-installing the License Server does not fix the issue because of unwanted data left over in the registry. Resolution A License Server Reset Tool capable of partial or complete reset of an EBO License Server installation has been developed and available for download from the Community: SBO License Server Reset.

Capture a Modbus trace log in EBO/SBO

Issue How can I troubleshoot a communication issue with the Modbus protocol Is there a log available within the AS or ES that shows the Modbus communication between Modbus devices Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Workstation Building Operation Automation Server Building Operation Enterprise Server Cause When troubleshooting Modbus issues in an AS or ES it can be helpful to see the communication between devices to help identify this issue. The trace log within both server types is available and is configured as described below in the resolution. Resolution Open Workstation and navigate to [AS/ES name]/System/Modules/Trace/Loggers/nsp/nsp.pin. Right-click "nsp.pin.modbus" and choose Properties. Under Level, change from "Information" to "Debug", then click ok. In EBO 7.0 and higher, "Debug" will report 1 line per transaction, where "Trace" will report 8 lines for the same transaction. In EBO 7.0 and higher, instead of logging all Modbus with "nsp.pin.modbus," you can log separately Modbus TCP and Modbus Serial using either "nsp.pin.modbus.CommunicationLayer.ModbusCommsLogger.Serial" or "nsp.pin.modbus.CommunicationLayer.ModbusCommsLogger.TCP" Let it run a few minutes. If there are some user input needed to recreate the Modbus issue, then perform these steps now. Retrieve the log by right-clicking [AS/ES name]/System/Modules/Trace/TraceSettings and choose Trace settings->Get trace log.  Save the log file. A useful tool available on the Community, the Modbus decoder can be used to assist in viewing/debugging the Modbus trace log file information saved in the previous step. Once debugging is complete remember to change log level back to "Information" (reverse of step 3). Note: If the ES or AS is reset, i.e. cold started or warm started, the log level will return to 'Information', so if further increased logging is required, the procedure will need to be repeated. Note2: From v6 (2024), adding the trace below can be helpful for Modbus RTU /[ASName]/System/Modules/Trace/Loggers/nsp/nsp.pin/nsp.pin.sport/nsp.pin.sport.DeviceRS485   Here is a video showing the above process.

However when tuning is complete the PID tuning function will continue to control the plant using the standard PID function.) Please note that PIDs are no longer autoconfig and there is no generic PID functionality with Continuum 1.94 and StruxureWare Building Operation 1.1 and higher, but custom solutions instead.  bPID information on page 101 available in PID Function.pdf Simple PID is on page 90 of the above link AutoTunerPID information available in PID AutoTuner.pdf

Unable to log into WorkStation due to license error codes -12, -15, -18 or -97

Issue When logging into Workstation one of the following error codes is given.  Invalid returned data from license server system. (Error code: -12) Cannot connect to license server system. (Error code: -15) License server system does not support this feature (Error code: -18) The desired vendor daemon is down. (Error code: -97) Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Workstation License Server Cause These type of issues are contributed to the License Server, Vender Daemon being down or not having a valid license for the application which is used. Here is a complete list of error codes Resolution If Workstation is installed on a different PC than the license server, refer to SmartStruxure Workstation or editors can't get license when using firewall (errors -15 or -96). If you get license error -18 refer to Error "Requested license is not available on the license Server" even though the license for the StruxureWare Building Operation is valid. Start by working through the troubleshooting steps below. In some cases the Building Operation License Server was unable to start due to antivirus programs on the computer.    Cannot connect to FlexNet License Admin Using your internet browser and go to localhost:8888. If you are unable to connect to this address then the License Server is not running.  Ensure that the Building Operation X.X License Server is running as a service. Right Click on the Computer icon on the desktop and click on manage. In the system tree on the left, go to Services and Applications > Services.  Scroll through the list and select Building Operation X.X License Server. Click start in the top left corner of the window. Some times the following Windows Error 1067 is given when trying to start the License Server. Note: In the past this error has been caused by antivirus software on the computer. In this situation the antivirus program had to be uninstalled in order to allow the License Server to start.    If the Building Operation License Server will not start then it may be due to another program using TCP port 8888. Use TCPView to search for programs running on local port 8888 and stop the other program.      Vendor Daemon is Down Note: If working with a 32 bit PC, replace "Program Files (x86)" with "Program Files" in the file paths below. Using your internet browser go to the address localhost:8888. Click on Administration in the top right corner of the screen and login with admin/admin (If logging in for the first time it will prompt you to change the password.  Click on the Vendor Daemon Configuration tab and then select the taclic daemon.  Verify that the path in the License File or Directory field matches the location of the taclic.lic file. The first half of the file path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric StruxureWare\Building Operation X.X\License Server\ followed by what is in the License File or Directory field. Verify that the taclic.exe is located in the path found in the Vendor Daemon Location field. The first half of the file path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric StruxureWare\Building Operation X.X\License Server\ followed by what is in the Vendor Daemon Location field. If changes were made then click Save and then Start.    Vendor Daemon is Down issue caused by ipv6 Cases have been seen where having ipv6 enabled on the same computer where the license server is running causes the Daemon is down error.  Often there will be entries in the license server logs that are similar to: 17:46:44 (demo) Lost connection to lmgrd, heartbeat timeout expired, exiting. 17:46:44 (demo) EXITING DUE TO SIGNAL 37 Exit reason 5 17:46:44 (demo) IN: "f1" user1@host1 (SHUTDOWN) 17:46:44 (lmgrd) demo exited with status 37 (Communications error) To confirm whether this is the issue ask the site if it is OK to disable ipv6 on the machine temporarily. In Windows control panel disable ipv6 Reboot the computer. In some cases, it might be needed to disable IPv6 completely in the registry: https://tweaks.com/windows/40099/how-to-properly-disable-ipv6/ If the issue is resolved then inquire with the site if it is OK to leave ipv6 disabled. If SIGNAL 37 errors are seen in the license server logs, these can be caused by having the localhost name associated with the IPv6 loopback address in the hosts file. This can cause communication problems between the license server daemon (lmgrd) and the vendor daemon, resulting in shutdown of the latter. If you have a line like the following in the /etc/hosts file: ::1 localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback please change it to ::1 localhost6 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback so that the localhost name is associated only with the IPv4 127.0.0.1 address. Please note that modifying this file requires Windows administrative privileges.

Damaged or Disabled Licenses

Issue Licenses are becoming damaged repeatedly over time and/or licenses are going in to a disabled state. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation, TAC Vista Environment SmartStruxure License Administrator Virtual Machine Cause Damaged Licenses: If the license server / license administrator is installed on a virtual machine, the common reason for damaged licenses is that the MAC address of the virtual machine is not set to be static. Every time the MAC address changes, the license will become damaged. Disabled Licenses: This is usually caused when the license fails to complete a process such as a return or repair. This could be due to an intermittent internet connection or the process timed out while trying to communicate with the license server. Resolution Repair License with License Administrator The first step to take with a damaged or disabled license is to use the repair function in license administrator. Follow the steps from WebHelp topic Repairing an EcoStruxure Building Operation Software License. If the repair function does not work, then the license server will need to be reset.  Reset License Server (Unable to Repair License) Below are the steps to remove the damage or disabled licenses before reactivating the permanent licenses again: Put a SBO demo license on the site to get it back up and running right away. Locate the Entitlement ID and/or activation ID of the impacted licenses. Open a case with your local BMS support group and provide them this information. This information will be used to release the licenses to prepare them to be rehosted. There are then two potential methods to  reset the license server: Download and run the SBO License Server Reset tool from the Community Manually reset the License Server Stop the License Server. In the License Server application folder, remove all files:                 - File path for Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and WIndow 10: \ProgramData\FLEXnet                 - File path for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2012: \ProgramData\FLEXnet   Start the License Server Reactivate the returned network licenses.   Note: When you reactivate all returned network license, new License Server .data files are created together with the activation of the first license. For more detail, reference WebHelp: Resetting the License Server.

EcoStruxure Workstation or editors can't get license when using firewall (errors -15 or -96)

Issue When PC based firewall's are used, some configuration in the license system and in the firewall are required to be made. In some cases, the error below when logging into Workstation appears: License server machine is down or not responding (Error code -15 or -96) Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Workstation Cause The TAC license (taclic) vendor daemon by default uses a random port each time it's started. This setting makes it difficult to handle in a firewall. Also the various EcoStruxure programs using the license system needs to be allowed in the firewall, as well as the ports used by the license system. Here is a simple explanation of how the license request from a client is made. Resolution Make sure there is a valid license installed on the license server. For more information read Requested license not available for Enterprise Server, Workstation or editors The easiest way to configure Windows firewall, is to run the SBO Firewall Config tool on all PC's having EcoStruxure software installed. For any questions regarding the use of this tool please contact the developer, details in the tool. In order to manually make the configuration follow the steps below. For more information on how to create Windows firewall rules, read Creating Inbound and Outbound Windows Firewall Rules.   On the server PC Make the port used by the vendor daemon fixed. Follow Define the port used by the taclic vendor daemon guide to do that. On the PC having the license server installed, open the following TCP ports in the firewall both inbound and outbound.  80 443 4444 2170 27000 through 27009 (If a user defined defined port has been used other than 2170 for the vendor daemon then use that instead of 2170)   On the client PC On the PC having EcoStruxure software installed using the license server on a remote PC, make these exceptions in the firewall: Allow ports TCP 80, 443, 4444, 2170 and TCP 27000 through 27009 both inbound and outbound. (If you defined a port other than 2170 for the vendor daemon then use that instead of 2170) Allow the following programs: SE.Graphics.Editor.exe SE.SBO.Script.Editor.Proxy.exe SE.SBO.ScriptEditor.exe SE.SBO.WorkStation.exe SE.WorkStation.IA.WptEd.exe tam32.exe They are typically located here: On 32 bit OS: C:\Program Files\Schneider Electric StruxureWare\Building Operation 1.X\WorkStation On 64 bit OS: C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric StruxureWare\Building Operation 1.X\WorkStation
