Wake-Up Interval and Redundant Transmission settings on the SED-THSU5045 thermostat.

Issue How do the Wake Up Time and Redundant Transmission settings affect the operation of the SED-THSU5045 thermostat? Environment SED-THSU5045 Enocean Cause The function of the Wake-Up interval and the Redundant Transmission switches is not described in the documentation that comes with the sensor.   Resolution DIP Switch 1 and 2 control the Wake-up Interval (in seconds) OFF OFF No cycling wake up ON OFF 1 OFF ON 10 ON ON 100 DIP Switch 2 and 3 control the Redundant Transmissions (in frequency of tx) OFF OFF Every wake up ON OFF 7 to 14 wake ups OFF ON 70 to 140 wake ups ON ON Never   The idea is that the stat will wake up when the wake-up interval is elapsed and verify if the temperature has changed by more than approximately 1°F. If it did, it will send a transmission, if not it will go back to sleep until the next interval. The second setting (redundant transmission) will govern how often the stat will send a value, even if the temperature has not changed (as some kind of ping or keepalive).

Sending emails from Vista 4.2.3

Issue Sending emails from Vista 4.2.3 Environment Vista 4.2.3 Cause Previous versions of Vista required that Microsoft Outlook be installed to send emails. However with recent changes to Outlook this caused a dialog box to appear asking if it should send the email which came from a 3rd party program (Vista) before the email would be sent. Since the previous recommendation was to not install this security patch or use Outlook 2003 the interaction with Outlook and Vista has been removed in the recently released version of Vista. Resolution In Vista 4.2.3 the email are sent directly to a SMTP server rather then utilizing an email client such as Outlook. The settings for this new functionality are found in the Mail tab of the Server Setup program. It allows you to set the senders name, email address, text encoding method, authentication method used, and the domain name address or IP address of the SMTP server. All other settings and database objects should remain the same while these settings are used behind the scenes.

Issue Is there a way to determine the total number of BACnet points in an I/A Series G3 station? Environment I/A Series G3 Enterprise Network Server or ENC station Cause Engineer wants to know how many BACnet points are used in the I/A Series G3 station. The I/A Series R2 system provided a way of observing the number of points in the station.  Similar BACnet Driver status screen does not exist in the I/A Series G3 station. Resolution Use the Spy Remote function of WorkBench to look at the number of BACnet device objects and number of BACnet point objects that are in the current station database. The following is the step by step procedure to display these counts. Open WorkBench and connect to the Platform. Log into the Station. Navigate through the Nav tree to Drivers, expanding that section of the tree. Right-click on the "BacnetNetwork" and select "Spy Remote" from the Views menu. The displayed "License Limits" table shows the number of defined objects (Used) and the licensed limit (Limit) for each of those object types.

101-VF/24 (Fan coil controller) allowing positive terminal load with cool air supply and one valve for heat.

Issue 101-VF/24 (Fan coil controller) allowing positive terminal load with cool air supply and one valve for heat. Product Line TAC Vista Environment 101-VF/24 101-2VF 101-2VFC Cause If you have a single valve application such as radiant heat control, but you have a central system that brings in fresh/cooled air to the same space, you may want to use the terminal load in the central system to indicate a call for cooling. Resolution If you only configure the controller for one valve and set the water temperature and water temperature setpoint to only allow heating operation, then the terminal load will only be calculated from 0 to -100% (heating only). Nvo_unitStatus will stay in heat mode as well even if the room gets too hot. If you configure it up for two valves then your terminal load will be calculated from 100 to -100%, indicating both heating and cooling load.

When starting I/NET the previously logged in user is automatically signed on.

Issue If user exits I/NET (Using System > Exit) and then re-starts I/NET again with logging off, the previously logged on user is automatically logged back in. When starting I/NET, user is not required to enter a password.   Environment I/NET Seven Cause The I/O Server with no clients has three settings which can be configured for its active profile as defined below: Maintain – Enable this option to allow the I/NET I/O Server to continue running in the background, even when no I/NET client is currently active. In this case, you will remain logged into the I/NET system. Logoff – Enable this option to be automatically logged off of I/NET when you shutdown the host software application. The I/NET I/O Server will continue running in the background, even when no I/NET client is currently active. Shutdown – Enable this option to shutdown the I/O Server after all I/NET clients have been shutdown. Resolution Change the active profile I/O Server setting to either logoff or shutdown.  Both Logoff and Shutdown will deactivate the last user logged into I/NET so if this is the functionality required, then either of these two settings should be used.
