Resetting Last Daily Archive and Backup Time in I/A Series R2 Station

Issue After the system clock was inadvertently set ahead and later corrected, the daily archive and backup processes in an I/A Series R2 station stopped running. The Last Daily Archive and Last Backup Time entries show future dates. Product Line TAC IA Series Environment I/A Series R2 ES and UNC stations Cause The computer system clock was incorrectly set ahead for several days. After correcting the clock, the station retained future timestamps for archive and backup operations, preventing scheduled tasks from executing. Resolution There is no direct method to reset these timestamps in the station UI. However, you can edit the station database XML file: Save Runtime Database In Admin Tool, log into LocalHost, select the running station, and use DB Admin → Save Runtime Db. Stop the Station After saving, stop the running station. Convert DB to XML In DB Admin, select the station and perform Convert Local from DB to XML. Edit XML File Locate the config.xml file in the station’s backup folder. Search and update the following tags to a past date: <LastBackupTime> <LastDailyArchive> <LastArchiveTimestamp> (all occurrences) Save the file. Convert XML Back to DB Rename the old config.db file for backup. Use DB Admin to convert the edited XML back to DB. Verify Time Settings Ensure the computer time is correct and time sync service uses a reliable NTP server. Restart the station and confirm archive/backup functions resume.

A sensor connected to a DMS system displays the letters INH to the right of the real-time display.

Issue A sensor connected to a DMS system displays the letters INH to the right of the real-time display.  What does this mean and how can it be removed? Environment DMS Cause It is unknown how the INH appeared on the point.  There are at least three ways to do it with programming but none were found in the database. The INH is short for 'inhibit'.  It prevents a point from generating alarms or changing conditions even though an alarm or change of condition exists.  It is useful during times when maintenance is being done on the associated HVAC system or if the HVAC system is scheduled off.  It prevents nuisance alarms. Sometimes it gets applied after a database glitch during a loss of power or communications.  This situation is rare but it can occur. Resolution To remove the INH and allow the sensor to alarm and change condition, it must receive the ENINH command.  There are several ways to apply the ENINH command.  The quickest way is to use command mode. In OPRIF, - use the up and down arrow keys to highlight the sensor with the INH applied to it. - press F8 to enter command mode - type ENINH then enter - press F8 to exit command mode - allow OPRIF a few seconds to update and refresh the sensor on the screen

Sigma – Digital Outputs Not Operating as Expected After Upgrade

Issue After upgrading Sigma firmware or replacing the CPU card, digital outputs may fail to operate correctly Product Line Satchwell BAS & Sigma Environment Satchwell Sigma Digital Output (DO) Cause This issue typically arises in two scenarios: Hardware Change: A Sigma V53 CPU card is replaced with an ARM7 processor card. Firmware Upgrade: A newer version of Sigma firmware is installed. In both cases, the Hysteresis function in DO objects may be unintentionally enabled due to an early version of SigmaX. In older Sigma versions, this setting had no effect. However, in newer firmware, the Hysteresis function is active and can interfere with DO operation. Resolution To resolve the issue, follow these steps: Start Sigma Client and Server. Navigate to: Display menu → Object Types → Select CMD. Starting from the top of the index: Browse through all folders to locate CMD objects. For each CMD object: Open the object. Go to the General tab. Deselect the Hysteresis Control checkbox. Repeat for all affected CMD objects. Download the updated objects to the controller.

What are the proper steps in upgrading an I/A Series WorkPlace Pro site?

Issue What are the proper steps in upgrading an I/A Series WorkPlace Pro site? Environment WorkPlace Pro Cause Instructions on upgrading an I/A Series WorkPlace Pro site Resolution The published upgrade instructions can be found on F-27334 TAC I/A Series® R2.301.522 Installation Instructions. However, there is another method. Using the existing version of WorkPlace Pro backup ALL of the UNC and Server databases into the XML format. Copy the stations containing the XML to the desired WPP revision. Enable and open the new revision of WPP. Use the Admin Tool to convert locally all of the stations from XML to DB. (If there are any errors, this will allow you to repair them with out affecting the running installation.) After all the databases have successfully converted to DB, convert them to SNS. (This will save you time later if you need to reload the UNC.) Now you can install the new desired revision into the Server, copy all of the stations into the new stations folder. Use the Enterprise Server to upgrade the UNC. During the upgrade process of the UNC you will be ask to backup the database. If the database had upgraded with no issue in the previous step, enter the username and password to proceed with this backup. What it will do is backup the station, upgrade the UNC, and then upgrade and reinstall the station. The previous station upgrade will be needed only if there is an issue. The only problem you may encounter would be on old Lon jobs. Some of the enumerated SNVT definitions were change by Echelon about the time we released WPP 431. If you run into the problem, the XML can typically be edited to resolve them.
