Wrong XIF is used for device when updating from system plug-in

Issue Wrong XIF is used for device when updating from system plug-in. SNVTs are there but not the SCPS XIF has a name like TACCab6.xif instead of the real name if you look in the XIF tab in the device properties Environment TAC Vista System plug-in Cause This happens when the system plug-in can't find the XIF file in the directory it was when the device was created. Then the system plug in creates a XIF from the information it can get from LNS. If the device was created using a template then the path is C:\lonworks\import, you can see the path by clicking on the device in the LNS network pane in the system plug-in This is typical if you have moved the LonMaker database to a different PC that does not have  plug ins installed. Resolution There are two different steps you can take to try to correct this issue. Delete the device in TAC Vista, install the plug in (or copy the XIF to the correct location) and update from the system plug-in again. Manually browse in the correct XIF file into TAC Vista workstation under the XIF tab in properties of the controller. Sometimes this must be done twice in order to bring in all configuration points and SNVTs. Once the XIF is in the right place any new device added will get the right XIF

Can the Frame Rate be changed in Continuum for different video features?

Issue Some sites may want to have continuous recording at 1 fps (frame per second), motion at 10 fps and alarm conditions (live) at 30 fpx Environment Continuum Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7 Windows Server 2003 Windows Server 2008 Cause An attempt is made to find a place in Continuum where the frame rate can be edited, but the location of the feature cannot be found. Resolution There is no place in Continuum to adjust the frame rate per second for different features for Digital Sentry or Endura. The only adjustment that can be made in Continuum is that on record video playback, the fast forward button can clicked several times in order to move faster. To go back to normal speed click the play button again. All other frame rate adjustments have to be made in DS admin for Digital Sentry or in Endura.

Warning Hazard of Electric Shock: Remove all power from all devices before removing any covers or doors of the system. Disconnect power at the device and at the power source.   Issue STC300 terminal detail is different to Specification Sheet and Installation Sheet and there are several versions of the same device. Product Line Field Devices Environment STC300 Cause STC300 terminal detail is different to Specification Sheet and Installation Sheet and there are several versions of the same device.   Example of incorrectly wired device. Two versions of the STC300 device are shown.   Resolution On each version of the devices, there is a printed termination legend adjacent to the terminals, follow this.   24Vdc from the power supply is wired to 24V Loop+ on the device. Signal to controller is wired to Loop- on the device.   On the controller, the RET is wired back to the 24Vdc supply using the GRD or RET terminal, see power supply specific wiring detail.

Sigma - The Device Monitor stops working after varying periods of time.

Issue Device Monitor stops working. Environment Device Monitor Sigma 4.07 Cause There is a defect in Sigma 4.07 which can cause the Device Monitor to stop working. Resolution This issue will only occur under specific circumstances, and it is very unlikely that it will be experienced. A defect "QT no 3693400117  Sigma 4.07 Device Monitor stops working" has been reported. This defect has been investigated and the following recorded. When, from the DOS command prompt, a valid IP address is continuously pinged, Device Monitor will suspend pinging at the next absent device. Device Monitor resumes scanning if the DOS ping is stopped. Device Monitor operates correctly when the DOS ping is to an absent IP address. There are two possible scenarios when this issue could be seen. When using the DOS "Ping" command. When using the Remote Alarm Manager interface for monitoring devices.

Can the xPBA4 module support a 4-20 mA output with the addition of a resistor circuit?

Issue Have a device that requires a 4-20 mA current signal to drive it but only have a 0-10Vdc output available. Can this be accomplished with a resistor bridge on the 0-10Vdc output?  Environment xpBA4 Cause The xPBA4 does not support driving a current output by default. Resolution It does not look like those outputs will be able to support a 20mA signal. The datasheet does not specify this but looking at another controller with a similar output, the i2867, we can see that the output rating for the 0-10Vdc output is 5mA maximum, 2Kohm minimum impedance. This would not be enough to drive a 4-20mA device. It may be possible to get a third party voltage to current convertor but then again it may just be easier to use one of the xPAO4's that already supports a 4-20mA output. I suggest using an xPAO4. The xPAO4 module can output current as well as voltage. The module has three pins on each output terminal; current (I), voltage (V), and ground (GND). It can output both 0-10VDC as well as 4-20mA. Connect your device that needs 4-20mA to the I and GND terminal and create your output with an ElecType set to Current. See datasheet Andover Continuum xP Expansion I/O Family for details on each available module.

The PowerUptime value in infinitysystemvariable of controller is wrong.

Issue The PowerUptime value is later than the current time. This issue may cause some program cannot run if the PowerUptime value is checked in that program. Environment TAC Continuum BCX-1 BACnet Controllers, for example B3851 B3867 B3887 and so on. Infinity Controllers, for example I2851 I2867 I2887 and so on. Cause Maybe there are two reasons. The first reason may be that the computer installed Continuum Workstation don’t synchronize time with the Domain server. The second reason may be that the controller has been learned in another Continuum Workstation, and that Workstation time is error. Resolution Firstly, interrupt the controller’s power. After approximately half a minute, reconnect the controller’s power.

Issue Unable to update VAS client configuration after initial setup using the Configuration Wizard.  The Configuration Wizard and Client Email Configuration selections remain unselected or grayed out. Environment I/A Series R2 Enterprise Server Vykon Alarm Service Client 2.4x Vykon Alarm Service Client  3.xx Cause For security reasons the Configuration Wizard and Client Email Configuration selections are only enabled (not grayed out) if the user is associated with the computer's Administrators group. Resolution Review the user accounts for the computer and make sure that the user name being used to login and operate the VAS client is associated with the computer's Administrators group. Fan Conditioning on a Xenta 121

Issue Fan is activating though it is not commanded. Environment Zbuilder Xenta 121FC Xenta 121HP Cause Fan Conditioning is Active. Conditioning can be used to "stir" the air periodically, evening the temperature when the system is not commanded or forced off. Resolution Active fan Conditioning is determined by settings for Inactive time and Active time. (UCPTappOptions bit 8, Active=1) Inactive time - Maximum interval in minutes before the fan is activated, if not used during. Standstill time between Conditioning.(UCPTFanCondOffTime) Active time - Time in minutes that the fan runs at minimum speed during Conditioning.(UCPTFanCondOnTime) If the Fan Conditioning is active, the fan state will be monitored for activity during the specified Inactive time and turned on when Inactive time has passed. The fan will stay on for the specified Active time until reached then turn off, which begins the Inactive time monitoring again. If the fan is called for during the Inactive time before reaching the Inactive time, the Inactive time is started over when the fan is released.
