Door reports "Valid Access No Entry" even though physically opened

Issue Upon presenting valid credentials at the door and physically entering thru it, the event reported for the transaction is "Valid Access No Entry" instead of the normal Valid Access event. The door is properly configured with a door switch but the controller does not see the door switch open. Product Line Andover Continuum Environment Continuum CX Gen 1 Continuum Net Controller II Cause For unknown reasons the door's entry and exit IOU are set to the same value, typically the GUI will not allow such invalid configuration. Resolution Edit the door and set the Exit IOU to zero (for a single-sided door) or to the appropriate IOU number associated with the AC1/AC1Plus on the exit side of the door.

AlignIntervals Error when downloading b3 controller after a Continuum conversion

Issue BACnet AlignIntervals Error when downloading b3 controller after a Continuum conversion Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Continuum conversion b3 Controllers Cause After a Continuum conversion the b3 controllers will not download correctly and AlignIntervals error is seen. Resolution This is most likely a result of have older firmware in the b3 controllers. No exact EBO supported version is stated for the b3 controller, but it is advised to always use the latest firmware version. Early versions of SBO (v1.0 to v1.9) would have been tested with v4.500064 (June2010) and v4.500076 (Mar2014). Most EBO testing being done at v4.500077 (Nov2017). It is likely a b3 with firmware v4.500049(Jul2009) could operate correctly.   It is advised to use the current version of firmware in a b3 controller.   Continuum Conversion Tool Notes See Known Issue v3.0 See Known Issue v3.1 So for Continuum conversions, EBO v3.0.x, v3.1.1 and v3.1.2 up to CP4 should avoided. The work around for these versions is to convert using v2.0 then upgrade to the required version. Or for v3.1, use v3.1.2.6000 CP5 or later. The issues are fixed in v3.2.

Continuum Transition to SX is not bringing through all subsequent changes.

Issue Following a successful configuration of the Continuum Transition Tool (CTT) it has been noted that some ongoing changes in Continuum do not seem to then be migrated through to the Security Expert database. Product Line Andover Continuum Security Expert Environment Continuum Transition Tool Security Expert Data Sync Cause It would appear that on occasion, some changes made to Continuum Areas after the initial CTT Transition is completed, fail to be exported from the Continuum DB by the CTT in its periodic update, This can be verified by examining the actual CSV output and seeing that certain known changes to Areas  are simply not present.  The actual Security Expert Data Sync is working correctly but if the changes are not exported by the CTT then they cannot then be imported by the Data Sync Service Resolution Although this is not currently resolved, it is documented as a limitation of the Andover Continuum System. Page 21 of the Transition Guide Security Expert - Continuum Database - Transition Quick Start Guide states that the Last Changed field of an Area object is only updated if the object is edited in a specific way. Since the CTT uses the Last Change field to decide what new object changes need to be exported, this legacy issue in Continuum directly affects the update to Security Expert if the changes are not made as advised above.

Difficulty creating a BACnet Pulse Converter

Issue  Found Webhelp link entitled "Configuring a BACnet Pulse Converter (Generic)" but cannot create one. Environment v1.4 Cause Object type is not available in any devices currently discovered on the system. Resolution A BACnet Pulse Converter (and BACnet Accumulator) are BACnet Object Types. There are currently no Schneider Electric SmartStruxure products that contain either of these object types. Therefore, the only devices that have these BACnet object types are Third Party Devices. You will first need to discover one of these devices and then when the properties are discovered you will see that the device has one or more BACnet Pulse Converters and/or BACnet Accumulators object. It is then that you can configure settings for the object(s). Below is a partial screenshot of the Webhelp configuration page for the object type.

Upgrade to 1.4 side effect with Central IO temperature inputs defaulting to Deg C in PE script programs

Issue After an upgrades to 1.4, units for temperature inputs on Central IO are not configurable. Affected programs no longer work correctly. When there is no client activity to convert to the locale of the client (there is not with the Script engine), the input is assumed to have the number that corresponds to degrees Centigrade. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment SmartStruxure 1.4 Central IO Inputs PE Script Cause Units must be set  in the variables window of the affected script program. Resolution The following program would work fine in 1.3 if the temperature that is bound to the SpaceT input was configured to have units of Deg. F. When the user of this program upgrades to 1.4, this program will no longer work correctly. The input is assumed to have the number that corresponds to Deg. C. You can see it in the variable value listing block: 22.4°C is compared to the setpoint of 70°F and it does not work right. The units MUST be set within the Script program as below: Now it will work.

Vista error log - Netfunc error

Issue Vista Workstation error log has "Netfunc errors." Environment Vista Vista multi server system Cause The Netfunc message in the log means that the master node is already working on the subscription that the node is sending. This can be caused by an overloaded network. The node has not received an acknowledgement from the master in a timely manner. It could also mean that the Master and its node are not synchronised correctly.   Resolution If the error continues to appear in the log: Make sure the network is not overloaded.  Close down the server and the nodes and restart them so they will resynchronize.

During installation and commissioning of a MNL-800, a component labeled MFC21 on the backplane was damaged. Is it necessary to replace the backplane?

Issue During installation and commissioning of a MNL-800, a component labeled MFC21 on the backplane was damaged. Is it necessary to replace the backplane? It seems like the MNL-800 is still completely functional.  It's reading all of its inputs and the program logic is controlling the outputs accordingly. Environment MNL-800 Cause The issue is typically a ground loop between full-wave and half-wave devices or power supplies connected to the UIs and / or AOs.  MFC21 is a Multi-function Ceramic protection capacitor / varistor component connected between the internal +15 VDC and earth ground (not common).  This and the other 28 varistors on the base board provide various forms of protection.  MFCs have burned out in situations that contain one or more transformers and a combination of full-wave / half-wave devices. Connections (common) between these devices can cause undesired ground loops (especially where transmitters are involved). It may also be related to how the transformers are wired (e.g. 24H / 24G or one side tied to earth ground).  The MNL-800 is a full-wave power supply device. Resolution Review the power wiring of all connected I/O. Replacing the backplane is ideal because it will provide proper protection for the next voltage spike. Without a functional MFC21, the logic card may get damaged.

Can a copy of Workplace Pro be purchased separately (not with the Niagara R2 Enterprise Server)?

Issue A jobsite consists of several (independent) buildings each installed with a UNC-520. They are not networked together (i.e. standalone) and each one has a different projectID.  The customer would like to use Workplace Pro to do some occasional changes and scheduled database backups.  Can a copy of Workplace Pro be purchased / provided without the need to purchase the Enterprise Server as well? Environment Niagara R2 Cause Unusual jobsite configuration with several standalone UNC-520 controllers and no Enterprise Server. Resolution Workplace Pro can only be purchased along with the Enterprise Server software.  It cannot be purchased in any other configuration. Heat will not turn off on SE76xx RTU Room controller

Issue The AO output on the SE7600 controller is either off or on instead of modulating. Environment SE7600F Room Controller Cause The SE7600 Room Controller is expecting a Discharge Air Sensor to be connected in order to detect minimum heating temperatures. Erie Actuators and Plenum ratings

Issue To clarify if the Erie Zone valve actuators are Plenum rated per the NFPA ( National Fire Protection Association ) safety standards. Environment Erie Actuators Cause Plenum rating of our actuators apply to the wires or cables used externally for terminations of the actuator. Resolution To provide a plenum rated solution, one of the two options below could be used. 1. Use an Erie actuator that has terminal connections instead of wire leads like the AG13A01A or AG23A01A and use plenum rated wire or cabling to connect to their terminals. 2. Use conduit connectors with a complete electrical conduit system to enclose all the wires in conduit. Note: The Erie models that have wire leads or cable like the AG13A020, have appliance wire NOT plenum rated. Without the use of a conduit system to shield the wire, it would Not meet plenum rated standards Consult the local Electrical Building Inspector to verify the best solution to ensure your application can be certified after inspection.
