Anti-passback (APB): Only receiving one / delayed transaction(s) even though multiple valid cards are presented to the reader

Issue Using anti-passback and the transactions are delayed by 5 (or more) seconds after the actual card is presented to the reader. During this period (while LED is green) no additional transactions are been recorded to AMT Transaction window. As a result of this the anti-passback is not working for the concurrent swipes.  The interval time between 2 swipes in the controller is configured to 2 seconds. We have tried changing it to zero, but we are not seeing more than transaction within this period come through to AMT. Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Seven 2.xx – with Anti-passback Cause When using anti-passback this is usually caused when you have defined the Door Sense setting in the Door Editor and it is either physically not wired or not working. By default this setting is set to Normally Open.   If you have this setting set to normally open or normally closed - the strike will remain energized until the system detects that the door has opened through the sense switch or the strike duration has elapsed, whichever occurs first, the default strike duration setting is 5 seconds. This means any badges that occur during this time are ignored; (only when anti-passback is enabled). Changing the Intercard interval will not make any difference in this situation. Resolution If the door status is not been monitored, you must set the door sense to none. If you are monitoring the door sense then make sure that the door sense activates on each card presentation so that the system recognizes the individual as entering the ‘zone’, therefore allowing the next card to be read.  Note: Implementing anti-passback also requires that you define access control zones. When you use Anti-passback in the true sense it is strongly recommended to use the door sense switch, this is to ensure the individual has actually entered that zone. In situations where this is not possible you can tell the system to ignore the door status by setting the door sense to none, it will then assume that the individual has entered the zone and provide the transaction thereof once the strike duration has expired.  In this case the door strike must be configured to suit the environment. Anti-passback requires that a door controller have both an entry reader and an exit reader. An elevator door controller will support only an entry reader, and therefore, will not support anti-passback. Refer to TCON 300 Chapter 9 – Access Control Anti-passback section for further information.  I/NET Anti-Passback (APB) rules may also be of assistance in setting up Anti-passback.

After setting up a UNC as a BBMD the other UNC's on that subnet are getting "network mismatch" errors in their standard output windows.

Issue After setting up a UNC as a BBMD the other UNC's on that subnet are getting "network mismatch" errors in their standard output windows. Product Line TAC IA Series Environment R2 UNC's with BACnet jar's earlier than 535a. Cause This type of error is indicative of a routing loop on the BACnet internetwork.  UNC's with a BACnet jar prior to 535a when set up as a BBMD will broadcast on their own subnet as well as to the other BBMD's and this can cause that also. Resolution Install BACnet jar 535a or later in the UNC that is the BBMD to see if this corrects this issue.  If the issue persists investigate the BACnet internetwork for a router loop.

After loading Niagara G3 3.6 security updates released on August 9, 2012, a web browser session times out after 5-10 minutes, requiring the user to login again.

Issue After loading Niagara G3 3.6 security updates released on August 9, 2012,  a web browser session times out after 5-10 minutes, requiring the user to login again. Environment Niagara G3 station web enabled Web browser; Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc. Cause From the Release Notes for the Niagara 3.6 Security Patch, "Changes to File Access": "The default Authentication Scheme for web access has changed from "Cookie" to "Cookie Digest", as specified in a station's Web Service. As a result, custom login templates may need to be modified to work properly." Note: The complete Release notes are contained in the securityPatches_3.6_083112.zip file on The Exchange Download Center website, Tech Zone, I/A Series G3 (ENC, ENS, etc) Conference, Release 3.6.47 Files. Click here to see the Release Notes. Resolution Increase the Cookie Digest Session Timeout. If you increase this timeout, but still notice that it is taking you back to the login screen well before the time should have run out on the session, then it is a different issue. In that case, upgrade your JAVA plugin to the newest possible version and install the Security Patch (both of which are recommended regardless). Be certain that it is not an issue with firewall, antivirus, internet security, etc.

After a download the IO modules go offline.

Issue After a new Menta application was downloaded through Vista the IO modules indicated offline with a fast flash of the green indication light. Environment Vista 5.x.x Cause The Xenta controller is using too much workspace memory. This can be seen from the memory allocation in Menta. Resolution The TAC Menta Technical Manual describes work area as the following: Work Area - Data created when executing the application program. For example, output status and time schedules.   Removing some of the time schedule holiday chart links will reduce the work area memory usage. Once this memory is in a positive free figure, the application can be downloaded and the IO will return to normal operation.

Advanced Display is loosing connectivity if AS-P is power cycled (or USB disconnected)

Issue Advanced Display Version 2.0 Tablets are loosing connectivity to their associated AS-P (connected via USB) when the AS-P is power cycled or the USB is briefly disconnected, even after the connection/power has been restored. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Advanced Display V2 Cause There are a number of internet browsers available to the user of an AD V2 once the SmartX Kiosk App has been entered. Chrome has been included in the standard view of the Kiosk for some time. and using the 'show/hide system apps' button within the Kiosk the other apps can be accessed on the tablet such as Samsung's own Samsung Internet App (as long as as the Kiosk pin is used). However since the release of Kiosk 8.1 only the Webstation App, which is built into the Kiosk is supported for connection to the AS-P and to use Kiosk 8.1 or greater the Android 8.0 build firmware of the AD V2 must also be brought up to T580XXU4CSA1 as a minimum.  (as detailed by TPA-EBO-19-0002.00) Using the Chrome or Samsung internet apps or having an older build of Android 8 OS firmware may appear to work fine on first impressions, but connectivity issues may then arise such as those detailed above Resolution As long as AD V2 build is T580XXU4CSA1 or greater and the inbuilt Webstation App is being used for all AS-P connection, then users should not encounter any connectivity dropout at all and any new issues which arise can be raised with Product Support Services.

Accommodating Individual numbers greater than 24000

Issue Accommodating Individual numbers greater than 24000 Environment I/NET site Cause How do older I/NET systems accommodate Individual numbers that are greater than 24000? Resolution Traditionally, I/NET has required that the key/card numbers assigned to individuals fall within the range of 1 to 24,000. This range supports the maximum limit of 24000 individuals that can be defined for a single tenant. However, it is not uncommon to find that the actual number preprogrammed on a key/card is greater than 24,000. In order to accommodate these higher key/card numbers, I/NET provides a Key/Card Translation table for each tenant. Using the translation table, you can define up to 128 ranges of high key/card numbers and the starting target number. Refer to TCON 300 for more information.

AMT is Displaying Link 200 and a partial point address.

Issue AMT is Displaying Link 200 and a partial point address. Environment I/NET site Cause Error Message AMT is Displaying Link 200 and a partial point address Resolution AMT can report a LINK 200 + a partial point address. When this occurs the system has defaulted to an error handling code to let the system programmer know that there is a hardware addressing conflict in a direct connect system. To correct this; open active profile in the I/NET configuration editor and modify the link configuration editor. The error generally occurs when the host hardware address is different then the actual hardware address. For example: 7801 Tap is addressed "0" and the Host hardware address is something other than "0". When connecting to a Host/Link/Lan tap (either a 78010 that connect directly to the controller lan or an emulated 78010 on a controller), the hardware address is always 0 and cannot be any different. Please read TAP and Repeater TCON 101 for a more detailed explanation on configuration parameters.

AMT Event message definitions

Issue AMT Event Messages Environment I/NET Seven AMT Cause AMT messages are used to diagnose certain system problems. This table can be used to interpret data when an alarm comes in, or needs to be acknowledged, the user can easily reference what is going on. This table was taken from TCON300.  This TCON is updated regularly, so to view the version which works best with your release of I/NET, select START>All Programs>I/NET>Technical Reference Guide. Look on page 3-26. Resolution Note: Most AMT Message "Event Types" are appended with the I/NET Users initials as defined in the Host Passwords.  It is also possible to see the "root" user name appear here, this is when you are using a Xenta Server that is controlling points in the I/NET system.  For example you may see the term "Control root" under the Event Type column.  This indicates that the associate I/NET point has been control by a Xenta Server.   Use this table to interpret AMT messages

AET basic troubleshooting steps

Issue The functionality of the different tools and/or software does not operate as expected. Issues can appear related to controller functionality or possibly issues with how the standard programs work.  Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Automated Engineering Tool (AET) Project Configuration Tool (PCT) EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO) Cause When the latest versions of software and firmware are not being used, previously identified issues can cause problems with downloads or the operation of controllers. In other situations, it is possible that the proper steps or tools are not being used correctly. This could require further instruction and information.  Resolution In most situations, the troubleshooting steps below will address a majority of issues encountered while working with the AET and the standard applications. EBO software and SmartX firmware being used should be at the latest version Between updates and fixes to the software/firmware, you should be using the latest versions found on the Exchange.  AET software should be up to date Between updates and fixes, make sure you are using the latest version of the AET software which can be found on the Exchange.  AET templates should be up to date You can reference the AET Quick Help - Downloading AET Templates video or the SmartVAV: Software Engineering Process document for further direction.  Understanding the proper way to use the Automated Engineering Tool There exist a number of AET Quick Help Videos available on the Community to help with AET user skills. Changing an Enterprise Server (ES) GUID from a ES backup

Issue When adding an Enterprise Server (ES)S to an Enterprise Central (EC) the following error is seen: "Cannot add a server to the system with an already existing unique ID". The option to restore an Enterprise Server (ES) backup with new GUIDs is greyed out and not available. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Enterprise Server Cause The error indicates that the ES has been cloned and has the same Globally Unique Identifier (GUID) as another ES in the system. The GUID is a unique identifier tied to the server's configuration and database structure. Changing the GUID of an Enterprise Server by restoring from a backup with new IDs is not supported due to system integrity and object referencing constraints within EBO.  Resolution Restoring an Enterprise Server with new IDs (GUIDs) is not possible or supported. The recommended approach is: Set up a new Enterprise Server instance. Use the Export/Import feature to transfer supported objects from the template ES. Manually configure any settings or objects that cannot be exported.

Use the USB host port on the Automation Server to access and retrieve the Session ID

Issue The IP address of a standalone Automation Server cannot be identified, and the Session ID required for password reset cannot be retrieved. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Automation Server Cause Due to the lack of available information regarding a Standalone Automation Server, it is not possible to determine its IP address.  Beginning with version 3.2, a password is required to log in via USB to obtain the IP address.  Consequently, obtaining the session ID is not feasible under these circumstances. Resolution Please note this article’s resolution requires a USB to Ethernet adapter.  If one is not available, please consult Identify Automation Server IP address to retrieve the password reset Session ID for an alternative solution to obtain the session id when the IP address is unknown.   The AS-P and AS-B Server Communication Ports include a USB host port, commonly used to connect the AD v3 or a Wireless Adapter.  However, this port can also be used to obtain a known IP address (10.110.220.1).   Prerequisites: USB to Ethernet Adaptor and network cable Physical access to the server to connect the adaptor Procedure: Connect the adaptor: Connect the adaptor to the host port on the AS-P/AS-B. Network Connection: Use a network cable to connect the PC’s network port to the adapter’s network port. IP Address Range: Configure the PC’s network adapter with the IP settings 10.110.220.2 / 8. Confirm Connection: Use a Command Prompt and Ping to test connectivity to the IP address 10.110.220.1.   Copy Session ID: After placing the EcoStruxure BMS Server into Password Reset Mode, use Workstation and the IP address 10.110.220.1 to access and Copy the Session ID.
