Displaying the actual value in an Vista Alarm text/email

Issue Show the actual value of the point being monitored in a Vista Alarm. Example: A temperature is monitored for a high temperature alarm In the Vista alarm properties, under the Alarm tab, is "Text for Tripped Alarm" and "Text for Reset Alarm" When the alarms trips, the Vista alarm queue should read "High Temperature of 77" Product Line TAC Vista Environment Vista Workstation Alarm queue Cause The fact that an alarm has occurred can be enhanced by displaying the value that caused the alarm to trigger. For example, the room temperature at the time of the high temperature alarm. These values will then be recorded in the event log as well. Resolution Enter the descriptive text into "Text for Tripped Alarm." In this example, "High Temperature of " Go to the Object tab in the Alarm Properties window and copy all of the text in the Object to monitor Go back to the Alarm tab in the Alarm Properties window and at the end of the descriptive text add an @ symbol and paste what you have copied from the Object to monitor. For example: High Temperature of @VISTASERVER-LTA-LNS-XG-AHU1-SUMMARY-R_T This will be displayed in the Vista alarm queue as: High Temperature of 77 If it reads ??### instead of the value, add ".PV" to the end of the absolute path High Temperature of @VISTASERVER-LTA-LNS-XG-AHU1-SUMMARY-R_T.PV  NOTE: the actual value may not be displayed in the Event window before Vista 5.1.7 (Vista 5.1.7 is included).

102-AX plug-in airflow calibration shows setpoint change on Status Tab, but no change in damper position

Issue 102-AX plug-in will not calibrate airflow, but on the Status page the airflow setpoint changes, but the damper position doesn't. Product Line TAC Vista Environment Xenta 102-AX firmware versions prior to 2.1.6 Cause Firmware versions prior to 2.1.6 had a bug in the airflow calibration functionality.  The damper will not modulate to maintain the desired flow (low/high) thus preventing calibration. Resolution If your 102-AX is at a firmware version below 2.16: When you start calibration through the plug-in the airflow setpoint will go to minimum flow; however, the damper position will not change once you start calibration (Note: It used to work in earlier versions). Leave the unit in calibration, go back to the Status tab and override the damper. Adjust it until you reach the cooling low flow setpoint, then take the airflow reading and enter your low airflow reading. Now modify the damper position to maintain airflow near the high airflow setpoint, take the airflow reading and enter in your high airflow reading. The box should now be calibrated, remember to take the damper position out of override so the damper can modulate as needed. This issue has been corrected in 102-AX firm version 2.16. You can also upgrade the firmware and the calibration through the plug-in will work as expected.

Xenta 511/527 with Port Forwarding - Login allowed but after login page times out and page cannot be displayed

Issue Xenta 511/527 with Port Forwarding - Login allowed but after login page times out and page cannot be displayed. Product Line TAC Vista Environment Xenta 511 Xenta 527 Cause Firewall/router settings must be adjusted by the site administrator to accommodate the redirect. Resolution Tell the router/firewall administrator that the 511/527 redirects ports from https to http so you will need the firewall/router setup to accommodate this. If there is a delay in getting this done, the work-around is to type in the missing redirect address. For example your ports are https - :9443 and http - :9080. Login to the 511/527 https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9443/www/index/Slogin.html the 511/527 redirects you from https to http and it will not get the redirect with the "Button" and you will get http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9080/www/index/index.html After the last "/index" type in "Button" so the link looks like below http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:9080/www/index/indexButton.html and type enter. You'll now be able to navigate as usual in the 511/527.

Recovery of XBuilder project if no copy is saved and backup was not sent to target

Issue If there is no saved copy of an XBuilder project and the backup was not sent to target it may still be possible to recover some of the data to be able to reconstruct the project Product Line TAC INET, TAC Vista Environment Xenta 5xx / 7xx / 9xx Cause Lost XBuilder project and backup was not sent to target Resolution With XBuilder 1.5.0 or later connect to the Xenta controller through the web interface and use the Utilities > Project Tree to view the project information. Use this information as a blueprint to rebuild the XBuilder project. If an older version of XBuilder was used then can connect to the Xenta Server with FTP. The OGC graphic files as well as the CFG files which configure the linking of points and signals can be obtained through the FTP. These files can then be imported into a new XBuilder project which can be sent to the Xenta Server.

101-VF/24 (Fan coil controller) allowing positive terminal load with cool air supply and one valve for heat.

Issue 101-VF/24 (Fan coil controller) allowing positive terminal load with cool air supply and one valve for heat. Product Line TAC Vista Environment 101-VF/24 101-2VF 101-2VFC Cause If you have a single valve application such as radiant heat control, but you have a central system that brings in fresh/cooled air to the same space, you may want to use the terminal load in the central system to indicate a call for cooling. Resolution If you only configure the controller for one valve and set the water temperature and water temperature setpoint to only allow heating operation, then the terminal load will only be calculated from 0 to -100% (heating only). Nvo_unitStatus will stay in heat mode as well even if the room gets too hot. If you configure it up for two valves then your terminal load will be calculated from 100 to -100%, indicating both heating and cooling load.

Using "Add All" can save time when making bindings in LonMaker.

Issue Using "Add All" can save time when making bindings in LonMaker. Product Line TAC Vista Environment LonMaker  SNVT Bindings Cause Multiple SNVT bindings in LonMaker can be time consuming to create but you can speed up the process significantly on some of your one-to-many bindings. Resolution For example say you have one Occupancy signal to pass to all or most of your controllers. After selecting your hub connection (the nvo_occupancy) in the Network Variable Connection dialog, and clicking "Add FB/SN's..." you'll see your subsystems. Select a subsystem that you know you want the SNVT to be passed to, right click on that subsystem and select "select all." Once you have added the functional blocks to the Target window and clicked on one of the target inputs, you can select the "Add All" option to select every network variable that matches the currently selected target in all of the other functional blocks. This process will verify that the variables are the correct variable type and direction. Now that you have a one-to-many binding you need to determine which of them need to be removed, e.g. the nviOccupancy on the controller whose nvo was the hub. After a final pass through you can select the "OK" button to complete the binding process.

How many stages of heating can be used with a Xenta 102-AX?

Issue How many stages of heating can be used with a Xenta 102-AX? Product Line TAC Vista Environment Xenta 102-AX Cause A Xenta 102-AX can be configured in the plug-in for up to three stages of heat, but there are only two heating outputs. Resolution The 102-AX can be used with up to 3 stages of heat. First stage is one strip Second stage turns off the first strip and energizes the second strip Third stage turns on both strips. This can be utilized very nicely for boxes where, for example, the first stage is 3kW and the second is 6kW. The third stage would provide 9kW. Refer to the 102-AX Software and Hardware Reference Guide Chapter 2 page 21.

Change routers from repeaters to configured to decrease network traffic

Issue Routers / i.Lons configured as repeaters pass everything and consume bandwidth causing throughput / slowness issues in your system. Environment LON physical layer L-IP routers Cause The cause of throughput/slowness issues in a network might be that it is bogged down with needless communication. Resolution Configure router ports as "Repeater" to avoid channel conflicts during the construction phase of a project. After all of the nodes are commissioned, configure all routers as configured routers so that they only pass what is necessary upstream. This is especially important if using i.Lon 1000s, 600s, or Loytec L-IP routers as they will pass that unneeded data onto the ethernet.
