How to Open the Point Extension of an I/NET point in the TGML Graphic after Converted into SmartStruxure?

Issue How to open the point extension of an I/NET point in the TGML graphic after converted into SmartStruxure, like Calculation, Event Sequence, Time Schedule etc.? Environment SmartStruxure Solution 1.4.1 and above I/NET 2.44a to I/NET 2.48 Cause Calculation, Event Definition or Time Schedule need to be changed in the TGML graphics Resolution Since I/NET 2.44a, there is a new option called "Right Click Menu" in the INET graphics to TGML converter. Select this option, convert the graphic, and right click on the point converted in TGML graphic, then a pop-up window will make it possible to add/modify Calculation, Event Definition, Time Schedule etc. Please note, the added right click options will only function when the graphics page is located on an Enterprise Server where a copy of I/NET is installed on the local Workstation. This feature on converted graphic functions as a link to the I/NET software so will not work when that software is not locally available. It is therefore not available when using WebStation or when viewing graphics located within a SmartX Server. From I/NET version 2.49, this right click menu option will NO LONGER be available

How to Realize Momentary Release of Door through Modbus

Issue If 3 rd party integration platform wants to use momentary release of door through Modbus, how to realize it? Environment StruxureWare Building Operation I/NET Cause Sometime this kind of application is needed. Resolution Here I/NET and SmartStruxure are used to realize this function. Follow the steps below: Create an I/NET interface in ES, and upload all the I/NET points into ES. Create a Modbus TCP Network, Modbus TCP device for momentary release to connect to 3 rd party integration platform. Create a Modbus point in the Modbus TCP device, named Momentary Release. 3 rd party software can access this point to control the door. Create a Script program, to type the sentence below: Bind the "ModbusOut" to Value property of the Modbus TCP point, "Out" to the PvControl property of the door point, while bind Value property of the Modbus TCP point to the "Release", shown as the picture below: Test the effect. When change the value of the Modbus point from "0" to "1", the door will open for five second, and return to lock status. The door lock time can be changed in the script program. Maybe there will be several seconds delay. After the door returns to locked, the Modbus point will return to "0", so there is no need to change the value back to "0" manually.

I/NET Site Inventory and best practices

Issue Inventory and Serial Numbers for each of the Host Computers Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET sites or Multiple I/NET sites under your responsibility Cause Desire to be organized and have site information quickly available Resolution The easiest way to collect the Serial Number and Version is from Help > About INET. Request a screen capture of each workstation with I/NET installed. This will give you the exact release, build, User/Site names and the serial number. Below is the splash screen which is seen when I/NET is opened: Then organize in a spreadsheet or folder structure which is kept up to date with any changes in the field. The trick is to have the correct screen capture from the correct computer. Designating as a File Master, Equalized Client, Remote Client, or Stand Alone would also be beneficial to have. Host Number for each Host Computer and a Static IP address would be excellent to keep in the spreadsheet.

I/NET - Event buffered

Issue How many events are buffered when contact is lost Environment I/NET Cause How many events are stored if connection is lost between the different source HostPC, X527, SLI, SCU Resolution This differs depending on where the connection is lost: Xenta 527 lose contact with Host PC A Xenta can buffer 1000 event normally, this can be raised with command Eventcap SLI ex. 7798C lose contact with Xenta 527 SCU lose contact with SLI The messages are always passed as far up the chain as the communication allows. If the DPUs are talking to a 7798 or 7793 but communication from that device to a Xenta or host PC is broken, then it is the DCU that will buffer the messages using FIFO. The DPUs will not buffer. If any message gets FIFO'd out then there will be a TAP overflow generated when communication is restored.

I/NET Controller in StruxureWare Building Operation has a blue circle with a white down arrow on top of it.

Issue I/NET Controller in StruxureWare Building Operation has a blue circle with a white down arrow on top of it. Environment I/NET Integration StruxureWare Building Operation Cause Any change to the I/NET controller will result in this indication requesting an upload. Changing a configuration in a time schedule or updating a calc extension on a point are two examples of what might cause this. Please note that the Upload DOES NOT complete the same action as a Station Save in I/NET. Upload will sync the StruxureWare Database with the I/NET database. To perform a station save from StruxureWare, right click on the Controller and select "backup". Resolution Expand the I/NET Interface network object Right click on the offending controller Select Upload Wait a few seconds. A refresh of the System Tree may be required.

SevenReports Error: "Error in command line parameters" when attempting to open report directly from Windows Explorer or Graphics link

Warning Potential for Data Loss: The steps detailed in the resolution of this article may result in a loss of critical data if not performed properly. Before beginning these steps, make sure all important data is backed up in the event of data loss. If you are unsure or unfamiliar with any complex steps detailed in this article, please contact Product Support Services for assistance. Issue SevenReports Error when attempting to open report directly from Windows Explorer or Graphics link Error received: Error in command line parameters: Report Type: 255 Duration: 255 Error Text: C:\INETSevenData\Reports\xxxxxxxx.rpt The Icon for SevenReports is incorrect: Environment SevenReports Windows7 Cause File association has some how become corrupt or it has been associated with the SevenReport.exe file after installing the SetupCrystalReportsXI.exe. Resolution In most cases the file association will occur automatically and there is no need to manually do this. Best practice is to restart the computer after installation, this should stop this error from occurring. Should this error still occur then this will require manually repairing the .rpt file association within the registry. Edit the following Registry keys so they appear as shown below: 1. HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.rpt If there is an additional sub-key (folder) under the .rpt entry called UserChoice; then delete this key. 2. HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.rpt\OpenWithList If there are any other entries here they should be removed and this entry must match exactly as shown in this screen. 3. HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.rpt\OpenWith\Progids 4. Close the registry editor and Windows Explorer (if opened) 5. Re-open Windows Explorer, browse to the INET Seven Reports folder (default "C:\INET Seven Data\Reports") and see that the ICON has changed back to the correct type and that double clicking on any of the reports now opens correctly. If not please contact Product Support.

Danish Ø alphabet character with upgrade from 1.3 Beta 1 to Beta 2

Issue Danish Ø alphabet character in I/NET 2.42 build 2316 while upgrade from StruxureWare Building Operation 1.3.0.724 Beta 1 to 1.3.0.802 Beta 2 Environment Windows operating system, I/NET 2.42 build 2316 loaded, StruxureWare Building Operation 1.3.0.724 Beta 1 wanting to upgrade to I/NET 2.42 build 2325 with 1.3.0.802 Beta 2 Cause Danish Ø character is not considered intelligent text. Upgrade from I/NET 2.42 build 2316 StruxureWare Building Operation 1.3.0.724 Beta 1 to 1.3.0.802 Beta 2 renders a empty database. StruxureWare Building Operation views the Danish character as unintelligent text and a filler such as a block, triangle or other symbol. Resolution Workaround is to edit the names or characters used and replace characters not in the English alphabet. In the example below I have replaced any ambiguous characters with an X. The upgrade performs without issue. A second alternative is to upgrade I/NET to 2.42 build 2325 and StruxureWare Building Operation software to 1.3.0.802 Beta 2, which understands characters not in the English alphabet. Here I have placed Danish and Deutsch characters which upgrade without issue.
