Control LED lights via RP-C relays

Issue Is it possible to use the RP-C relays to control LED Light?  The specification sheet does not specify the maximum inrush current. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Room Controller (RPC) 24 V Building Operation Room Controller (RPC) 230 V Cause RP-C is not designed for switching light loads, and especially not LED loads. LED loads will result in a very high inrush current and require relays that are designed for that. Furthermore, the light application often requires relays that keep the light on in case of power failures which is not the case for RP-C. Resolution The CRS light modules and the Hotel Relay modules have that type of relays and can handle peak currents up to 800A, which is typical for LED loads. If using the CRS modules is not an option for the customer another possibility is to use a contactor connected to the RP-C.

Use Replication Monitor in SQL management tool to monitor the File Equalization

Issue Sometime it is hard to trace the File Equalization process, especially when issues happens. Environment I/NET File Equalization Cause There is a log file under C:\INET Seven Data\ called INetEqzConfig.log. This will record the whole process of file equalization. But it is not so accurate if I/NET shows the equalized client finished the equalization although it is not. Resolution There is a function in SQL management tool called Replication Monitor. This can monitor the current SQL replication status of all the clients, which is file equalization, on the filemaster. 1. Open SQL management tool on Filemaster, and right click on Replication to Launch Replication Monitor. 2. In the monitor, after you start the Filemaster, you will see the local SQL server. If there is no equalized client, the list will be empty. 3. If the equalized clients appear, they will show up in the list. If it shows Synchronizing, that means file equalization is working. 4. If it shows Not synchronizing, it means the file equalization doesn't start or has been finished.

How Many S-link Sensors Can Be Connected to a MicroNet Controller?

Issue VisiSat 2.1 allows two S-link sensor instances to be added to a controller scheme. Users have asked whether both instances can be used simultaneously. Product Line Satchwell MicroNet Environment MicroNet Touchscreen controllers VisiSat 2.1 Cause The VisiSat stencil permits two instances of the S-link sensor to be placed on a controller scheme. Priority 16 is writing zero (0) values in IP Controller

Issue IP Controller is getting incorrect overrides at Priority 16. The room control unit is writing to Priority 16 which is then writing to multiple setpoints with a zero (0) value in the function block program, causing programming to fail. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Workstation Building Operation Automation Server Cause Even though priority 16 and the Value can sometimes be synonymous, they are still separate Objects The room control unit is writing to Priority 16 AND the Value has been set to Zero.   The value is set to 0  Writing directly to priority 16 from the room control unit Resolution The best practice would be to:  Bind to the Value Object from the room control unit and also set the retain level under Value rather than biding to and setting Retain level on Priority 16

Why Vista Workstation Remote is not supported for Internet Use

Issue Why Vista Workstation Remote is not supported for Internet Use Environment Vista Servers not in the same network Cause Technically Vista Workstation Remote can communicate to a Vista Server over the internet but this is not a supported practice due to the network requirements for the Vista Server. Resolution The Vista Server must be on a PC that is not behind a firewall which utilizes address translation. The IP address of the computer must be the same IP address that Vista Workstation Remote will use to communicate with it. Due to the nature of DCOM (Distributed Common Object Model) which is used by Vista Workstation Remote many ports would have to be left open on the PC and the network firewalls. Vista Workstation Remote connects to DCOM's Service Control Manager (SCM) on port 135 which will dynamically assign a port for the programs to communicate on. Since this requires ports 135 and the entire range of ports that the SCM utilizes to be open on the PC and the firewalls the risk to the network is significant. Most IT departments will not be willing to leave their network so open and exposed. Therefore, Vista Workstation Remote is not supported for Internet use. To use Vista over the internet please look into a web server (Xenta 511/527) or Vista Webstation.
