Link Summary Indicator in Netcon during Equalization

Issue Link Summary Indicator in Netcon during Equalization Environment Netcon Cause During equalization, when a Client is connected to the File master, who is either directly or over Ethernet connected to the system, a – sign is displayed in the cnf column in Network Configuration, Link Summary. Normally, this indicates that there is no communications from the Client PC to the controllers. However, if you penetrate the link you are able to see all the controllers and their sub-lan devices. Resolution In order to get rid of the – sign in the cnf column, the following steps needs to be followed: Shut I/NET and I/O Server down on the Client Open Windows Explorer and browse to C:/Program Files/INET Seven/Data folder and delete all files with .dat extensions Restart I/NET and I/O Server again Go to Edit/Host Computer/Network Configuration and in the Link Summary, the – sign in the cnf column would be gone Note: The dat files will get rebuilt when I/NET is restarted.

Crystal Reports in I/NET Seven Version 2.21

Issue Crystal Reports in I/NET Seven Version 2.21 Environment I/NET Seven version 2.21 Crystal Reports XI Cause Beginning with I/NET Seven version 2.21, the I/Net Seven Reports application uses Crystal Reports XI as the reporting engine. Resolution In order to create and run reports using Seven Reports, you must first install Crystal Reports XI support files unto your PC. An installation program named SetupCrystalReportsXI.exe is included on I/Net’s installation disk for this purpose. When you execute this file, Microsoft Installer will launch and the necessary support files will be loaded onto your PC. We recommend that you install Crystal Reports XI support files immediately after completing the I/NET Seven host software installation. If you forget to install the support files, you will receive the following message when you launch Seven Reports: Crystal Reports Support files must be installed. Run CrystalReportsX1_Support Files.msi found on the Support Folder on the CD. If you see this message, click OK and install the support files from I/Net’s installation disk. To install Crystal Reports XI support files: Prepare to install the support files as follows: Close all other applications running on your system, including virus-checking software. Insert the I/NET Seven CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. If I/Net’s Setup program automatically launches, cancel it at the first screen that offers a Cancel button. Explore the CD-ROM and locate the following folder: d:\Support\SevenReports\CR_XI (where d: is the letter designation of your CD-ROM drive) Within this folder, execute the following file:SetupCrystalReportsXI.exe. This causes Microsoft Installer to launch and begin installing the support files. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation process.

If you have a double address on an SCU 1284, and the operation of the LEDs are wrong after you installed I/NET Seven rev 2.21 what do you do?

Issue If you have a double address on an SCU 1284, and the operation of the LEDs are wrong after you installed I/NET Seven rev 2.21 what do you do? Environment I/NET Seven rev 2.21 SCU 1284 Cause I/NET Site Resolution If you had set a double address in the SCU 1284, the operation of the LEDs are wrong. Both LED (Green and Red) are active permanently no matter what you set in the Door Editor(Anode/Cathode), the LED will just flash once when the door is operated. If the SCU is set to single address, the LED will work correctly. The equipment setting that will cause this issue is having a 7798C with BIN file Rev 1.08 and SCU1284 with BIN Rev 3.25. To correct this issue requires you to only change the BIN file in the 7798C from rev 1.08 back to Rev 1.06. This 1.06 Bin file is from the I/NET Seven rev 2.16 release. Please note the SCU1284 LED issue DOES NOT exist in the following BIN files in the I/NET Seven rev 2.21 release. 7798B Bin is OK 7793 Bin is OK SCU1284 Bin(3.25) is OK

Issue Transfer pressure values with units of inches of water between I/NET and LON with a 913/527/731. Environment I/NET Xenta 913/527/731 XBuilder Cause When reading pressure from LON, the value is always in metric units, Pascals, on the LON wire. When the value comes into I/NET, it will be a large, unexpected number. Resolution To read in a LON pressure value into I/NET: Create two internal points in I/NET. AO to receive the raw pressure value in Pascals AI to perform the conversion to inches of water Add a calculation to the AI to perform the conversion: P0*C0 P0 = AO created to receive the raw pressure value in Pascals C0 = 0.004 to convert value from Pascals to inches of water Set the connection object in XBuilder: From = LON SNVT_press To = AO to receive the raw pressure value The AI should be reading the correct value in units inches of water. To write a setpoint value out of I/NET to LON: Create two internal points in I/NET: AO where the user enters desired static setpoint in inches of water AO to perform the conversion to Pascals Add a calculation to the AO to perform the conversion: P0*C0 P0 = AO created to enter desired static setpoint in inches of water C0 = 249 to convert value from inches of water to Pascals Set the connection object in XBuilder: From = AO to perform the conversion To = LON SNVT_press The SNVT should be reading the correct value in desired units.

Exporting/Importing Configuration Profiles

Issue Exporting/Importing Configuration Profiles and need to copy CCTV configuration from one machine to another. Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Seven Cause When Configuration Profiles are created on one PC and the user wants to copy it onto another PC, there is no easy way to do this even through the SQL database. To accomplish this the user would have to first, Export and then Import the configuration files from the registry. Likewise when setting up a second standalone machine to use the same CCTV interface or similar Host masking settings can take some time. This process will allow you to transfer everything configured under the profile setting to a new machine. Resolution The following step describes how to do this: Caution • Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. Before making changes to the registry, you should back up any valued data on your computer. • To open Registry Editor, click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. • You can use a text editor like Notepad to work with the registry files you create by exporting. • You can save registry files in the Windows format, or as text files. Registry files are saved with .reg extensions, and text files are saved with .txt extensions. • In Windows Explorer, double-clicking a file with the .reg extension imports the file into the computer's registry. To import a registry hive just double click it from Windows Explorer. Open the Registry Editor On the File menu, click Export. In File name, enter a name for the registry file. Under Export range, do one of the following: To back up the entire registry, click All. To back up only a particular branch of the registry tree, click Selected branch and enter the name of the branch you want to export. Click Save. HOST MASK information To share host mask configurations between PCs, browse to C:\I/NET SEVEN DATA and copy the .dat files relevant to the configuration profile

Host Computer running Windows Virtual Machine (VM) and not able to see the Xenta 527-NPR

Issue Host Computer running Windows Virtual Machine (VM) and not able to see the Xenta 527-NPR Environment Windows XP running Virtual Machine with I/NET running on the Virtual Machine.   Cause When running Virtual Machine mode, your network via TCP/IP is not able to see the Xenta 527 NPR because of the Default NAT setting needing to be changed to Bridged.   Resolution When setting up Windows Virtual Machine the default setup is "NAT" but needs to be changed to "Bridged" Bridged mode lets the virtual machine share the host's Ethernet connection, while appearing as a separate machine with its own MAC and TCP/IP address. NAT mode nats through the hosts NIC, much like the 192.168.1.x machines nat through your router to the internet. The VMware server assigns DHCP addresses to the virtual network cards, and the NAT system takes it from there through the real NIC.

Changing from Analog dial-up communication to VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)

Issue An upgrade site that has gone from a 7798b with dialup capability attached via modem to see the I/NET Seven C-Lan network has gone to VoIP phone communication. This changes the dialup communication. How to make this communication work? Incorrect or missing I/NET Host Tool license

Issue "Incorrect or missing I/Net Host Tool license." error occurs when I/NET Host Tool is launched via Vista > Tools > I/NET Host Tool. Product Line TAC INET, TAC Vista Environment I/NET Host Tool Cause "Incorrect or missing I/NET Host Tool license" error will occur if there is a full version of I/NET installed with its own license key. Running the full version of I/NET and launching I/NET Host Tool via Vista, will attempt to open a new instance of I/NET. The system will throw the error message because there is already an open instance with a license that is not the I/NET integrated license. I/Net (2.4X) runs as a service and will also create this condition if a second instance is launched. Stopping the service will allow I/Net to open without error. When using XBuilder to refresh the I/NET network. In XBuilder, upon a refresh, an instance of I/NET Host Tool is launched. If there is a current open I/Net instance, the error is thrown. Resolution This will not affect the network in any way since I/NET Host Tool and the full version use the same I/O Server. To avoid this message, shut down I/NET and I/O Server and start it again via Vista > Tools > I/NET Host Tool.

Error importing I/NET sav file to XBuilder

Issue Error importing I/NET sav file to XBuilder Environment XBuilder I/NET sav file import Cause There's a problem in how the DcuXml.exe and XBuilder handles the import of sav files. If the "home" folder of the Windows user you are logged in with has a ".", XBuilder will import the sav file to the I/NET folder alright, but will actually look for the sav file in the Files folder, so one folder back. Eg. Domain user: br Location of the copied sav file: C:\Documents and Settings\br\Local Settings\Temp\XBuilderPrj\PROJECTNAME\Files\INET (For Win7 & Win Server 2008, it should be C:\Users\br\AppData\Local\Temp\XBuilderPrj\PROJECTNAME\Files\INET. You need to turn on the Show hidden File option in Folder and search options under the Organize menu ) Where XBuilder looks for the sav file: C:\Documents and Settings\br\Local Settings\Temp\XBuilderPrj\PROJECTNAME\Files\INET (For Win7 & Win Server 2008, it should be C:\Users\br\AppData\Local\Temp\XBuilderPrj\PROJECTNAME\Files\INET) Local user: br Location of the copied sav file: C:\Documents and Settings\br.WSDKHER9562\Local Settings\Temp\XBuilderPrj\PROJECTNAME\Files\INET (For Win7 & Win Server 2008, it should be C:\Users\br.WSDKHER9562\AppData\Local\Temp\XBuilderPrj\PROJECTNAME\Files\INET) Where XBuilder looks for the sav file: C:\Documents and Settings\br.WSDKHER9562\Local Settings\Temp\XBuilderPrj\PROJECTNAME\Files (For Win7 & Win Server 2008, it should be C:\Users\br.WSDKHER9562\AppData\Local\Temp\XBuilderPrj\PROJECTNAME\Files) Resolution XBuilder will generate an error, and the import.xml will be locked by the DcuXml.exe process, so you manually have to stop that. What you have to do is manually copy the sav file to the PROJECTNAME\Files directory before you import the I/NET network.
