After updating bin file to an SCU, Deny Entry Tenant message in AMT or access denied.

Issue Problem with downloading bin file with more than one door defined causes second set of doors to deny reads. Bin files connected to this issue are 3.24, 3.25, 3.26 Environment TAC I/Net Seven using Access Control. SCU 1284 configured with two doors. (Dip Switch 6 ON gives double address)  Cause Bin file failure to download with double address setting. Resolution On an SCU, an SCU is configured for 4 doors. 2 of those doors are working. 2 of the doors on the SCU are not working. Only thing that has changed is the SCU was downloaded with a new bin file. Nothing in door configuration was changed, no dip switches were altered. Solution: Find out which doors were not working, (probably the second two doors like 0104) Go to Edit/controller/MCU Configuration and Set those doors to Internal, and then download the SCU with the bin file again. Go to Edit/controller/MCU Configuration and Set the doors back to DPU.

Memory Queue Overflow or Memory Overflow message from Controller

Issue Error message from I/Net Seven controller such as a 7790 in AMT which is "Memory Queue Overflow" or "Memory Overflow." Environment TAC I/NET Seven either direct connect to controller (such as a 7790) or Ethernet connection to a NPR (such as a Xenta 527) Cause Memory overload or bottle neck caused by excessive number of messages through the network. Resolution Memory Queue Overflow or Memory Overflow messages seen in the AMT (Alarms Messages Transactions) window is often caused by an excessive number of messages being requested to transfer through the network device. When you look in AMT you should check to see if the message comes from the Controller (such as a 7790) or from the NPR (such as a Xenta 527).    Throttling back the number of messages by reducing trending data, alarms, transactions, samples, or other information flow will reduce they data and free up some bandwidth.  How many controllers are connected to the NPR? Perhaps you can break this number into smaller allotments and reduce the traffic on the C-LAN which reduces the bandwidth required through the NPR.

I/NET door masking

Issue Why do you need to mask the events in both door editor and the point itself (08, 09)? Environment I/NET Seven Cause Door masking is required in both the door editor and the point itself. Resolution Think about door masking as layers. When you create a door, you need to create a point/relay for the door. This relay changes state (0,1), this is the hardware layer, Layer one. In order for AMT to get a event that the point have changed state it needs to ask the controller of the status. This is done by a quick poll command issued by the SLI. In order to make this point to behave like a door we need to add some feature to it, a second layer. This layer is not hardware dependent but it speaks to the hardware. Here you can add some additional event or in this case alarm as "forced door". This alarm will be distributed to the event handler of the point so next quick pull will catch this information and it will be sent to AMT. So in order to get alarms and transaction from the door specific attributes both the point/relay (So the quick pull can get its information) and the second layer door needs to be masked. So the information will become correct its also important that the points and door masking priority are the same.

TAC I/NET Seven Filemaster is Full SQL 2005 and Equalized Client is SQL Express fails to equalize.

Issue Filemaster is Full SQL 2005 and Equalized Client is SQL Express fails to equalize.  Environment 2.31 version of TAC I/NET Seven 2.4x  version of TAC I/NET Seven Full SQL 2005 for the Filemaster SQL Express for the Equalized Client In the test environment, the Filemaster and Equalized Client has Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 for operating system. Cause SQL Express  doesn't start equalization services automatically. Resolution The Equalized Client refused to replicate the database with the Filemaster. Equalization is not succeeding even though the little icon may say it is equalized. Filemaster shows pending. Start I/NET and check the host passwords to see if equalization has taken place. The following steps will cause equalization to take place:  Restart the pc to ensure there isn't a program hanging in the memory. Demote Equalized Client to Stand Alone. Exit I/NET and I/O Server Go to Start/Run/CMD Maneuver to the c:\Program Files\Inet Seven folder and type the following:  ineteqzmerge /unregserver     press the Enter key ineteqzmerge /service     press the Enter key Now go to Services by selecting My Computer/Manage/Services and look for the Service running called InetEQZMerge and start the service and select Automatic. Now you should promote the I/NET workstation to Equalized Client ensuring you put the Filemaster Name rather than IP address. The snapshot will be delivered to the Equalized Client. After equalization you may need to shut down I/Net and the I/O Server one last time and then restart I/Net Seven. Now return to Services by selecting My Computer/Manage/Services and look for the Service running called InetEQZMerge where you should STOP then START the service again.  One way to test equalization from Filemaster to Equalized Client: in I/Net Seven under Edit/Host Computer/Passwords add a user/password. Check the other computer to see if the database replicated the new user/password and Vice Versa. If ineteqzmerge is already running as a service.  Try stopping and starting the service. Note: Using SQL 2008 on a Windows Server 2003 OS? Read TCON301 on page 2-4.

TCP/IP Settings required for an I/NET Seven Installation (Ethernet Speed Settings)

Issue TCP/IP Network Settings required for an I/NET Seven Installation.  If the incorrect network speed is used, communication with the NPR-2000 and the Xenta 527 will fail. Environment TCP/IP Network I/NET Seven NPR-2000, Xenta 527 Cause I/NET works on 10 Mb/Second (also known as 10-half).  The NPR-2000s and the Xenta 527 will only function on 10-half. Resolution I/NET requires Microsoft's TCP/IP protocol. While I/NET Seven can coexist with another vendors networking software, (Novell or Banyan, for example) it will not use any other version of TCP/IP. You can add Microsoft's TCP/IP in the Network options of the Control Panel. Most modern Ethernet Switch gear should be set to "Auto Negotiate" for 10/100mb speed required by a device, but speed is an important factor for proper communication.  I/NET can only run on a 10 Mb/Second network. Old style NetPlus Routers(NPR-2000), Xenta  527 NPR, and Xenta 527 Web require 10 Mb/Second.  See TCON 300 (from the Technical Reference Manual included on the I/NET installation CD) for further details.  TCON 300 has all of this information on pages 1-9; 1-33 & 1-34 Because this is not an individual PC configuration, assistance from the building IT staff will likely be required.

Issue Change of font color isn't kept when viewing graphics page. Environment TAC I/Net Seven by Schneider Electric Cause Font colors not remembered when selected, for example on an AI point, simple temperature value, the font at the bottom of the screen is changed to any of the colors available. I/NET reverts back to black. Resolution Located on the I/Net Seven 2.31 cd, there is a folder named: Patch-B Graphics Paste Inside this folder is a file named: INET Rev 231Graphic Patch with size.zip  Take this file, unzip, and with INET closed, and the I/O Server shut down, copy into your I/Net Seven folder on the C:\Program Files\INET Seven This overwrites a variety of files, dll etc.

What does it mean when a point goes "OLD" in I/NET?

Issue What does it mean when a point goes "OLD" in I/NET? Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Cause Points are labeled as old when the value is invalid or the point is no longer communicating. Here are possible reasons a point shows up as "OLD" or "old data" The SubLAN or UC device is offline or not communicating. In this case all points on the device will show as "old data" Indirect points are flagged as "Old" anytime an update request is initiated and no response is received from the global point for 2 scan intervals. If the sensor on an input produces a number either lower than the low sensor limit or higher than the high sensor limit the point will go old. DDC control logic outputs a value out of range of the point SubLan Communication error Improper global level on sending controller Resolution The SubLAN or UC device is offline or not communicating. In this case all points on the device will show as "old data" Check to ensure the device is powered up and check physical communication. Ensure that the device is enabled in MCU Configuration and verify that the correct device type is specified. Indirect points are flagged as "Old" anytime an update request is initiated and no response is received from the global point for 2 scan intervals. Check the scan intervals of the indirect point and increase it to a larger setting. See TCON300 for details about how information requests are send between global and indirect points. A long scan interval will not translate to a delay in information being sent. Also check the communication path between the 2 points and ensure all equipment is working properly. For example if there is a known issue with an NPR that has global points underneath it, then all indirect points referencing those global points will frequently go old. If the sensor on an input produces a number either lower than the low sensor limit or higher than the high sensor limit the point will go old. Check the sensor and determine if it is faulty. If the value that is being sent is acceptable then increase and decrease the High and Low Sensor limits. This can also be caused by a sensor being disconnected. DDC control logic outputs a value out of range of the point Check all points that the DDC references and determine which is going old. Use Failsafe commands whenever available. SubLan Communication error Check the physical condition of the wiring on the SubLan. Determine if any SubLan device is faulty and interrupting communication. Improper global level on sending point Connect to the controller with the sending point and check it's global level. if the receiving point is on the same physical controller LAN wire you can set this to "LAN". If not, set it to "System"

MR-VAV-AX Resetting Itself

Issue Do you have an issue with an MR-VAV where it is resetting itself every so often and in the Messages Window of AMT, an MCU Lost, and MCU Restore message is displayed for this address? Environment I/NET Seven Cause The main cause for this is power or grounding to the device, indicative of the messages in AMT. Resolution Verify that the power supply (XFMR) is correct and outputting the correct voltage to the device Verify that the device is grounded properly, with no strands of stray wire touching anywhere. Verify that the communication wires are terminated properly and free of interference. "Unmap block xxx at remount" message during boot of Xenta Server

Issue During the boot sequence of a Xenta Server the message "Unmap block xxx at remount" occurs. Environment Xenta 511 Xenta 527 Xenta 555 Xenta 701 Xenta 711 Xenta 721 Xenta 731 Xenta 913 Cause Sections of the flash drive are being declared bad and are being removed from the accessible drive map. This can be a natural pruning process of bad sections due to drive damage or that section exceeding the maximum number of writes. The amount of lost space is: # of pages * 2 bytes All hardware 2 Xenta Servers have 16mb flash drives, so it takes a large number of pages to be lost before significant space is lost and will impact performance of the unit. Resolution If the number of pages is low and is not increasing then the unit should function normally without any additional action. If the number of pages is exceeding 50000 or increasing rapidly, then have the Xenta Server repaired or replaced depending on its age.
