Unable to connect a client to a Filemaster in 2.40.

Issue Promoting a stand alone client from a host to an equalized client and it does not work. The snapshot is done on the Filemaster but the client would not connect. When we attempt to connect we receive a message stating that "the Filemaster snapshot is not ready and to try again in a few minutes" Environment Equalization Promotion from Stand Alone Host to Equalized Client in 2.40. Cause I/NET 2.40 has a problem promoting an equalize client. An indication of this problem is a perpetual “Pending” message seen at the Filemaster configuration editor. This state is caused when promoting an equalize client using the Filemaster’s IP address and not the host name. Resolution Once an attempt is made using the IP address and not the host name. The client’s snapshot is in some corrupt state and must be deleted. To correct this problem perform the following on the client From the Filemaster make sure the 'Pending' client is dropped from the Equalization list  Demote the client if not already demoted. Delete snapshot located on the Client’s “unc” folder. The "UNC" is located in C:\ INET Seven Data\ MSTR\unc Promote the client using the host name for the Filemaster and not the IP address. This should correct the problem

Using a User Search to do a quick search for individuals

Issue User Search can be used to do a quick search for individuals, while still limiting what the user has access to change.  Record types, door attributes, and schedules will be protected. Environment I/NET Seven versions 2.31 and above. Cause Allow a user to do a quick search for individuals, but limit what the user has access to as far as changing record types or door attributes and schedules. Resolution Select Edit/Host Passwords Either modify or create a new user as the case may be. If the user only needs to have Search capabilities, then click on the All No button Click on the Individuals Button on the bottom of the editor Click on the All No button again. This would take away all rights to make any modifications to any records that the search is used on. Click OK then log on and log back on as the new user, on the Task Bar, when Access is selected the only option available would be User Search.

Step-by-step instructions for calibrating Space Temperature on a Xenta 102-AX (or I/NET MR-VAV-AX) using the M/STAT.

Issue Step-by-step instructions for calibrating Space Temperature sensor on a Xenta 102-AX (or I/NET MR-VAV-AX) using the M/STAT. Environment Xenta 102-AX MR-VAV-AX M/STAT Cause The preferred method for calibrating temperature in Xenta 102-AX or MR-VAV-AX is through the plug-in.  However, this is not always an option, especially when the responsibility for calibrating is given to a third party test and balance company.  Pocket references exist for navigating through the M/STAT menu, but there aren't clear step-by-step instructions to tell exactly how to perform the calibration. Resolution  Step 1: Connect M/STAT Plug the M/STAT into the jack on the thermostat.  The initial display shows the set temperature.  Step 2: Enter Password Press the Service button.  This prompts you to enter the service mode password.  Default password is 183.  Use the +/- keys to set each digit and the enter key to submit.  If the password is incorrect, the display will blink.  Step 3: Operational Parameters If the password is correct, the first menu option – Unit Parameters (UP) – is displayed.  Hit the select button down until Operational Parameters (oP) is displayed.  Press enter.  Step 4: Calibrate Space Sensor Hit the select button until Calibrate Space Sensor (CSS) is displayed.  Press enter to view the current value.    Step 5: Enter Actual Value Use the +/- keys to change the value beginning with the tenths of degrees.  Press select to change to the degree and ten degree digits.  When the display matches the Actual Value, press enter.  Step 6: Escape Service Mode Press the service key to escape out of the menu.  If you are finished configuring the box, escape all the way back out of the service menu before disconnecting the M/STAT.  Disconnecting in configuration mode can leave the stat displaying “00” or other incorrect numbers.

Issue Date and time gets incorrect periodically in TAC Xenta Programmable controllers Time stamp in alarm list is incorrect Time stamp in alarm list is wrong  Vista Server local time and the local time in all Xenta controllers in the network go out of synch.   All local time settings are correct in TAC Xenta Environment TAC Xenta 30x/401/28x Cause The time in a TAC Xenta can be changed by TAC Vista TAC OP, note that a change of the time in one controller is broadcasted to the whole network. TAC Xenta group master will broadcast the time to it's group every 24 hours A Xenta Server (Xenta7xx, Xenta5xx, Xenta 913) Menta, this only affects the controller Menta is connected to. Time and Attendance functionality in I/NET Seven

Issue Does I/NET Seven provide Time and Attendance functionality Environment I/NET Seven 2.xx and above Third Party Time and Attendance solution Cause Possible alternatives to Customers wanting to use or interface Time and Attendance solutions with I/NET. Resolution I/NET does not have a separate Time and Attendance ‘module’. There are three possible options which may provide a suitable alternative to your requirements: SevenReports: I/NET’s SevenReports provides a standard report called “Transactions Attendance”.  The report compares the time stamp for an individual and calculates the time within zones defined in I/NET.  I/NET doors must be configured with entry and exit readers and have defined Zones (i.e. Anti-pass back must be enabled).  It could be as simple as a single zone for the entire site or multiple zones if this is required. This report shows EACH transaction received, therefore if you badge multiple times on the entry or exit readers the system calculates the time difference from the last badge. This must be taken into account by any system when calculating the total time within the “Zone”. Automatic Report Generation (Export of SevenReports to CSV): Using the same report as mentioned above, I/NET is capable of automatically exporting this document to a CSV file. This can be scheduled to run as required for any third party system to use. Third Party Access to InetDb SQL database This option allows third party SQL connections to query the I/NET SQL Database (Read only access), utilizing a predefined login or the INetThirdParty login.  The third party software or application would query data from the InetDb SQL database. For further information and configuration of these features are all available in the same document, TCON301 – Database Connectivity and Reporting.

Possible solution to doing a Telnet session with a system wide firewall setup.

Issue Is there a way to use firewalls to stop routing tables from being delivered? For example, can you shut down port 50069 to prevent routing tables from updating while you cleared device routing tables? Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Seven Network with system-wide ethernet Cause There are bogus entries in the Routing tables in the PCs and NPRs in the I/NET system. Resolution Blocking the port will certainly stop I/O servers and NPRs from sharing their routing tables.  The real problem, though, is in getting all devices cleared before you open the port back up. The following would be a reasonable approach to clearing a routing table system from a desk, if the customer does not want to go to each location. Ask the IT department to block port 50069 for each device on the network Telnet into each NPR or Xenta 527 and PC to clear the routing table using the DELALL command Correct Reference Host settings Ask the IT department to open port 50069 to each device on the network after you have cleared all sites. Please note that all of the devices have to be cleared before the firewall is taken down.  If you have one of the devices offline at the time of the cleaning, you could re-populate the deleted routing table again. Another option would be to firewall port 50069 between segments of the network to ensure only part of I/NET was visible to specific regions.

Control the output values of a Time Schedule in XBuilder (set to something other than 0/1)

Issue Time schedules appear to be working backwards. Time schedule that controls occupancy of a LonWorks unit is not controlling properly. The unit is unoccupied instead of occupied. Time schedule outputs need to be reversed to control I/NET points where 0 and 1 may not be off/on. Environment Xenta Server Xenta 511, 527, 555, 701, 711, 721, 731, 913 XBuilder Cause SNVT_Occupancy has the following values: 0 - Occupied 1 - UnOccupied 2 - ByPass 3 - StandBy If the time object does not use the correct default and active values then the wrong value will be sent from the time schedule. I/NET controls with the "first of the pair, second of the pair" which may require a 0 to be ON and a 1 to be OFF. Resolution Modify the Time Object for a SNVT_occupancy: In the Show Other Properties editor change the default value to 1 (Unoccupied). In each time event change the Active Value on the Other tab to 0 (Occupied). If edited offline, generate the project and send to the target.
