Deleting orphaned index entries with SigmaX

Issue A SigmaX Doctor report indicates category A errors similar to:- UNC = 92 Object No. = 97 INDEX.REC ERROR Index entry does not have a matching point file entry UNC = 92 Object No. = 98 INDEX.REC ERROR Index entry does not have a matching point file entry Environment Sigma SigmaX Doctor Index editor Cause This error indicates that although an Index entry exists in the database the Outstation pointfile does not contain the object. This is typically caused by objects being deleted in the field from a technicians laptop and then subsequently the outstation pointfile has been uploaded to the server leaving the index on the server still containing the objects deleted in the field. Resolution Once it has been verified that the objects should indeed not exist, the orphaned index entries can be deleted using the Doctor index editor. Please note that there is no undo function or prompting in this utility, you need to be extremely careful and always ensure that you have a backup before proceeding. From SigmaX open the Doctor utility Run the Index editor Enter the UNC and object number (with the pipe character between) you wish to search for in the "Find" area e.g. 92|97 for UNC 92 object 97 Click "Point" in the Find area and you should be taken to the line in the index file that contains this object Enter the Index editor password in the "Edit" area, password is IE Click the delete button Repeat steps 3-6 for additional entries Click the index.bin button when complete to create a new index.bin file and close down the Index Editor Run the Doctor Error check again and verify that the issue is resolved.

How do I get a LonWorks license for an Enterprise Server station?

Issue Wants to run old UNC-600 station as an enterprise server but the license does not include LON.  How do you order it? Environment I/A Series R2 Enterprise Server I/A Series SoftJace Cause Customer wants to migrate a UNC-600 station to an enterprise server.  The UNC-600 was already providing the needed database services so the station cannot be directly moved to a UNC.  Even without the database service, the station may be too large for one UNC-520. Resolution Tridium does not make the LonWorks license available for the Enterprise Server or for the SoftJace.

Support for LON "File based CPT products"

Issue Support for LON "File based CPT products" Environment LON CP CPT SCPT UCPT Cause Downloads / Uploads to the Roombox LON, and other "File based CPT products" fail. Resolution The Roombox controller uses the File based CPT's, and StruxureWare Building Operation does not support this, this means that uploads / downloads will always fail. SCPT is an acronym for Standard Configuration Parameter (Types). UCPT is an acronym for Used (defined) Configuration Parameter (Types). CPT is an acronym for Configuration Parameters (Types). (Both SCPT and UCPT).   In the LonWorks technology it’s possible for the Vendor of the device, to implement these variables in three ways: As NV's (network variables) As “DMA type variables”, (meaning they just reside in the devices flash memory at known addresses) As “File Type” variables, (meaning they are located inside a logical file in the device)   StruxureWare Building Operation can handle type 1 and 2 above. But not type 3 at the current release (1.5)..   There is a fairly easy way to determine this, which is from the device’s XIF file. If the XIF file contains these variables, (or at least the two first), then the SCPT's / UCPT's in this device ARE implemented as File type variables, and StruxureWare Building Operation can’t handle them. nviFileReq nvoFileStat nviFilePos Most of the devices having this, are using Loytec’s chip, so typically this can be: Lvis, Linx and many gateways from Loytec., but there are other products to. These devices are not easily commission in StruxureWare Building Operation. However Product Support Services can assist you to edit the XIF file, so that the device can be commissioned. Note - The SCPT's / UCPT's will be removed from the device, so these will not be visible (and of course not changeable) from StruxureWare Building Operation. Access to NV's will be as normal.

"Error: Sequence too complex" received when attempting to save Event Sequences

Issue Is there a limit on the number of action steps for a sequence? Is there a memory limitation on the number of action steps for a sequence? What prevents me from adding any more than 13 steps to a event sequence?  Environment I/NET Seven - Event Sequences Cause Due to memory limitations, if using any of the Output commands, you are limited to only use 12 lines items per event sequence instead of the normal 18 line items per event sequence. An allocation of 128 bytes of memory is allocated for each sequence, adding an action sequence to a point requires 8 bytes of memory plus additional bytes for each action defined in the sequence. The memory required for each event sequence action is shown in the table below.  The system will notify you when this memory limitation is reached via this "Sequence to complex" error. Action Memory Required Start Start with Lock Stop Stop with Lock Lock Door Lock Door with lock Inhibit alarm Enable alarm Event Unlock 5 bytes Output Output with Lock 9 bytes Skip if Zero Skip if Non-Zero Unconditional Skip 6 bytes Resolution If your are using only the "Output with Lock" or "Output" event sequence action in one sequence, only 12 lines are allowed.  If more lines are required, the SKIP command can be used to connect as many sequences (maximum of 64 per controller) as required.

CX controller Ethernet id usage

Issue Is the Ethernet id (MAC address) of the CX controller used in communication? Environment All CX master controllers CX9900 CX9640 CX9702 bCX4040 bCX4000 CX9680 ACX5740 ACX5720 Cause Documentation Resolution The Ethernet id of InfinityControllers is not actually used during communication, the id is saved to the database for informational purposes only. The id is saved to the database when the controller is first created and commissioned, if the controller is then replaced it is possible to have a mismatch between the value of the Ethernet id in the database and the live value as read from the controller. This mismatch in the Ethernet id can be corrected or safely ignored. It does not have an effect on system operation either way.
