Vista central time chart and TAC Xenta Server time chart

Issue Vista central time chart and TAC Xenta Server  time chart - what happens when communication between Vista server and TAC Xenta Server is lost When is TAC Xenta Server time chart updated from Central time chart? Central time chart overwritten from TAC XBuilder Environment TAC Xenta 731, TAC Xenta 721, TAC Xenta 711, TAC Xenta 701, TAC Xenta 511. TAC Xenta 527, TAC Xenta 555 TAC XBuilder  TAC Vista Cause The Xenta Server only knows about its own time objects that is defined in XBuilder (or TSCHI in Menta). There are no synch between the central chart and the local time object. If you download the project from XBuilder, times defined from the central chart will be overwritten. To avoid this you have to perform a Get from Target before download, or you have to open the central time chart again and click ok to update the local time object once again. Resolution When you change a time in a central time schedule the change gets written down to the TAC Xenta Server time object the same way as a manual update. After the correct time has been set in the TAC Xenta Server time object,  from the central time chart,  the controller will operate using these times until it gets new information. It does not matter if the connection to the TAC Vista Server is lost. To perform get from target: In TAC XBuilder go to Project > Get from target Select "Get online changes" Click OK

SQL Error Log or Errorlog files

Issue SQL Server or SQL Express errorlog files can reveal what is the health of your site Environment I/NET site with Full SQL or SQL Express installed for the database. Cause Ensuring processes within SQL are completed successfully. Errorlog file is so large it is filling the Hard Drive. Resolution View the SQL Server error log to ensure that processes have completed successfully (for example, backup and restore operations, batch commands, or other scripts and processes). This can be helpful to detect any current or potential problem areas, including automatic recovery messages (particularly if an instance of SQL Server has been stopped and restarted), kernel messages, or other server-level error messages. View the SQL Server error log by using SQL Server Management Studio or any text editor. For more information about how to view the error log, see How to: Open Log File Viewer. By default, the error log is located at Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.n\MSSQL\LOG\ERRORLOG and ERRORLOG.n files. A new error log is created each time an instance of SQL Server is started, although the sp_cycle_errorlog system stored procedure can be used to cycle the error log files without having to restart the instance of SQL Server. Typically, SQL Server retains backups of the previous six logs and gives the most recent log backup the extension .1, the second most recent the extension .2, and so on. The current error log has no extension.

Does ReportCmdLine.exe interact directly with network mail services?

Issue Does ReportCmdLine.exe interact directly with network mail services.  Does ReportCmdLine.exe function the same as selecting the email delivery icon on the report toolbar? Environment CyberStation ReportCmdLine.exe Exchange Reports Email Delivery Cause The ReportCmdLine.exe and manual report delivery do not function in precisely the same way.    Resolution The ReportCmdLine.exe has no interaction with mail services whatsoever.    What ReportCmdLine does is it notifies the report object that the report should be created in the form of an email, or a file, or both.  The effect is similar, though not precisely the same as opening the report object and selecting the Email button on the tool bar.    These two actions, i.e. sending a report email by selecting the report email button or by using the ReportCmdLine argument 3, differ in the following way.  Report Email button: The Report Email button creates an email that must then be sent manually.    ReportCmdLine.exe When the report object receives the email argument from the ReportCmdLine.exe it creates an email in the Outlook Outbox.  In either case the email is not sent until, in case of the Report email button, the operator selects the send button on the report email or, in the case of the ReportCmdLine, Outlook is launched upon which it can move the email from it's outbox to the sent mail box.  These operations are handled by the report object.  ReportCmdLine plays no part in this beyond passing on the argument.  In either case you need a mail client that supports Enhanced MAPI protocol (IOW/ Outlook) on the same Continuum workstation otherwise the report email will remain in the OutBox and will not be sent until Outlook is launched.
