Issue Is there any duct air velocity sensor available in our portfolio? Environment Duct Air velocity sensor Cause Some applications requires a duct air velocity sensor. Resolution Unfortunately no sensor of this type is available in the Sensors portfolio.

Issue Is it possible to use the V321 and V311 valves in applications with a glycol content up to 50%? Environment V311 V321 Cause   Some valves are not suitable for use in applications with glycol content in media. Resolution The V321 and V311 can be used in applications with deaerated water with glycol-type antifreeze agent (max 50%)

Issue Is it possible to use the VF208W valve in applications with a glycol content up to 50%? Environment VF208W Cause Some valves are not suitable for use in applications with glycol content in media. Resolution The VF208W can be used in applications with deaerated water with glycol-type antifreeze agent (max 50%)

Issue Troubleshooting Heat Meter installations (also Cooling or Flow meter) Environment Heat cooling or flow meter installation Kamstrup Cause Troubleshooting Heat Meter installations (also Cooling or Flow meter) when there is a problem with the values being measured Resolution To aid Product Support please supply the following information 1. Sketch of the installation, including physical details of pipe size, lengths and bend details plus any local valves etc. 2. Schematic sketch showing positions of Boilers/Chillers, Pumps, meters and sensors. 3. Photo of the installation if possible 4. Details of the media, maximum/minimum temperature, nominal flow and system pressure 5. What BMS is connected to the meter? Running NOTE Were no flow or little flow is seen, there may be air within the system, even if the "Air in System" info is not given on the meter.

Issue Is it possible to mount a valve in any direction in a pipe work? Environment general Valves general actuators Cause Mounting a valve/actuator in the incorrect position may cause damage to actuator. Resolution The positioning options of the valve are based on the recommendations on how to mount the actuator. Please see the actuator data sheet for recommendations. 

Issue What is the Maximum Air Velocity that can pass across a SHD100/SHD101 Humidity Sensor? Environment SHD100 SHD101 Cause Some applications has a high velocity that needs to be measured. Resolution The flow rate is only critical at higher humidity. Furthermore, it also depends on the porosity of the filter. At humidity less than 95% r.H. up to an air velocity to 15 m/s there should be no problem.

Issue Is there any CRN (Canadian Registration Number) available for the Satchwell DWA pockets used for STP sensors? Environment Satchwell DWA Pocket STP Cause For some applications, a CRN number is requested for components that are part of a pressurized system.  Resolution Unfortunately, no CRN numbers or certificates are available for the DWA pockets.

Issue The TAC200 heat controller is obsolete, but data sheet and handbook may still be useful. Environment TAC200 Cause An obsolete product is still in use on sites. Resolution Documentation is available on The Exchange Download Center by searching for "TAC 200."

Issue In some applications, a compression/conex type connection is requested or required. Environment VZ22 VZ32 VZ42 Cause Application requirement. Resolution Unfortunately, no such connection is available through Schneider Electric, and must be provided from external source if required.

Issue Are the V211T, V222, V292 valves suitable in a system containing 28% bio ethanol? Environment V211T V222 V292 Cause Application requirement on content. Resolution With a content of only 28%, the valves should work just fine. Cast iron is not ideal, but it works fine. Stem packing materials are EPDM and teflon, and they will also work fine with this content.

Issue The thermostat appears to be in OFF mode and can't be cycled through the modes as indicated by the manufacturer's directions.   Environment Venstar T2700, VST2700 thermostats for red-wire control connected physically to a controller Cause It seems that the polarity of the dry contact was set to the default Normally Open (NO) state. Using the Venstar EZ-Programmer to apply the correct settings for use with an occupancy point did not overwrite the polarity of the Venstar's dry contact, but did overwrite the Dry Contact Operation. Also, by wiring everything up first, we did not power up the thermostat to change the mode before it got the closed dry contact command from the BAS. So when we did power everything up, the dry contact was closed, but the thermostat understood that this was an "unoccupied" command since it was still set to NO. Even though the security settings allowed the mode to be changed, when Dry Contact Operation is enabled, the mode can only be changed in occupied mode. When the thermostat goes unoccupied, it stays in whatever mode it was in previously, and controls to the unoccupied setpoints. By not realizing that the EZ Programmer didn't overwrite the polarity, we assumed the dry contact operation and polarity were correct and a closed dry contact would enable the occupied mode.   Resolution This issue can be resolved by powering up the thermostat before connecting the dry contact relay and changing the mode to "auto". If already wired, make sure the dry contact polarity is set to Normally Closed (NC) and Dry Contact Operation is "Yes". Issue What is the "meter factor", what does it mean? Environment Kamstrup Heating meter cooling meter flow meter Multical 601 602 Cause The "meter factor" is mentioned in the documentation, but what does it mean? Resolution The "meter factor" is the number of impulses/Liter, and differs between the different sizes of meters. This value is described in the data sheet. The meter factor can also be seen on the label on the side of the meter.

Issue Changing a Controlli MVL56C actuator. Environment MVL56C VMB VMB16 Cause A Controlli MVL56C actuator is to be replaced, is a linkage required to connect to a Forta actuator? Resolution A linkage is required. The linkage is the AG50, part number 880-0127-000

Issue Does Schneider-Electric carry a line of carbon monoxide sensors with BACnet capability? Environment Kele Veris Cause Job specification Resolution Veris will be releasing a carbon monoxide sensor with BACnet and Modbus capability in 2Q14. Kele has the GDN series of carbon monoxide sensors that are BACnet and Modbus capable.  Visit kele.com and type GDN into the search field for a list of available models.

Issue Is there any thermic actuator that can be used with the VZ*19 valves? Environment VZ219 VZ319 VZ419 MZ20A MZ20B Cause In some applications, a thermic actuator is requested Resolution Unfortunately, the only available actuators for VZ*19 valves are the MZ20A (24V, 0-10V modulating control) and MZ20B (24V and 230V, 3 Point floating control)

Issue When replacing a valve where the MZ140 actuator is used, which valve will fit? Environment MZ140-24T MZ140-230T VZ208E, VZ308E, VZ408E VZ208C, VZ308C, VZ408C Cause Valve that fits the MZ140 actuator Resolution The MZ140 is designed to be used with the VZ*08* valves (VZ208E, VZ308E, VZ408E VZ208C, VZ308C, VZ408C).

Issue To clarify if the Erie Zone valve actuators are Plenum rated per the NFPA ( National Fire Protection Association ) safety standards. Environment Erie Actuators Cause Plenum rating of our actuators apply to the wires or cables used externally for terminations of the actuator. Resolution To provide a plenum rated solution, one of the two options below could be used. 1. Use an Erie actuator that has terminal connections instead of wire leads like the AG13A01A or AG23A01A and use plenum rated wire or cabling to connect to their terminals. 2. Use conduit connectors with a complete electrical conduit system to enclose all the wires in conduit. Note: The Erie models that have wire leads or cable like the AG13A020, have appliance wire NOT plenum rated. Without the use of a conduit system to shield the wire, it would Not meet plenum rated standards Consult the local Electrical Building Inspector to verify the best solution to ensure your application can be certified after inspection.

Issue What is the USB port used for in the STD300? Environment STD300 Cause Internal hardware upgrade that does not affect the functionality.  Resolution The USB port is in place for internal/factory use only, and should not be used in the field.
