Issue How do I select an actuator and valve combination? Environment Actuator Valve Cause Select the correct actuator and valve part numbers. Resolution Refer to the TAC Catalog F-27414-*. Read the section on valve part numbers. Select the valve body needed. Refer to Catalog F-27382-*. Read through the actuator selection for MA, MC, MF, MK, MM, Mp, and MS to identify the desired actuator. Refer to TAC Catalog F-27414-*. find the page with the chosen actuator valve combination. Verify from the close off table that the actuator will meet the valve performance requirements. Turn to the actuator assembly code table and select the assembly code needed to complete the valve assembly number. ie: Vx-XXXX-XXX-X-XX. Order valve. If valve is not available as a factory assembly, order the individual parts and field assemble. The valve close off table provides the correct linkage kit required to couple the actuator and valve body, not all actuators require linkage kits.

Microsmart Controllers Not Following Niagara R2 Schedule After Power Failure

Issue Microsmart controllers do not respond to Niagara R2 schedules after a brief power outage. The UNC appears online, but Microsmart shadow objects stop updating. Product Line TAC IA Series Environment Niagara R2 (all versions) Microsmart controllers (all versions) Cause When building power fails for less than 60 seconds: The UNC performs a graceful shutdown using its backup battery but never fully powers down. Microsmart controllers reboot and come back online. The UNC assumes controllers are still online, but the link between Microsmart shadow objects and physical points is lost during the outage and does not automatically recover. Resolution Reboot the UNC to re-establish communication between Microsmart shadow objects and the controllers. Verify all schedule links after reboot to ensure proper operation.

Remote Alarm Manager – “Stop transmission of the Alarm Message” Setting May Be Lost

Issue In Remote Alarm Manager (RAM) 2.0, the “Stop transmission of the Alarm Message” setting within an Action may be unintentionally lost when reviewing or modifying the configuration. This setting is part of the “What should be done when an alarm is acknowledged” menu. Product Line Satchwell BAS & Sigma, Satchwell MicroNet, TAC Vista Environment Remote Alarm Manager (RAM) 2.0 Cause The issue arises due to the way the Action configuration is navigated. Depending on the method used to review or edit the Action, the setting may be deselected without user awareness. Resolution There are two methods to modify an Action, each with different implications: Sequential Navigation (Using “Next” Button): Open the Action and proceed through each page using the Next button until reaching Finish. If you repeat this process, the “Stop transmission of the Alarm Message” option may become deselected, even if it was previously enabled. Direct Page Selection (Using Left-Side Navigation): Open the Action and directly select the desired page using the navigation boxes on the left. Important: If this method is used, always verify that the “Stop transmission of the Alarm Message” checkbox is ticked before clicking Finish. Best Practice Tip: When modifying Actions in RAM, always double-check the status of the “Stop transmission of the Alarm Message” setting before finalizing changes. This ensures alarm behavior remains consistent and avoids unintended message transmission.
