Using DSL with Continuum controllers

Issue If remote buildings have an internet connection using DSL, will this configuration work with Continuum controllers? Are there any known issues? Is the connection fast enough? Product Line Andover Continuum Environment Netcontroller 9680 Netcontroller 99xx BCX ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line) Cause Buildings in remote areas may use DSL(Digital Subscriber Line) to access Netcontrollers instead of a corporate LAN. Resolution Netcontrollers can be used with a DSL connection. Two things to keep in mind when implementing this configuration are: Do not employ NAT(Network Address Translation) of any kind. Continuum requires a static IP. This can be requested from the ISP(Internet Service Provider) of the DSL line. All network ports required for Continuum operation will need to be opened. See Router required open port numbers to run a Continuum system for this information. DSL speeds are typically fast enough to not cause connection issues. Note: Where DSL lines have equal up and download speeds, ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line) have upload speeds that may be 100 x slower than the download speed, typically 128K maximum and are unlikely to provide a reliable network connection.

SP-C and Grouped TKE Controllers Communications

Issue How does SP-C communicate with grouped TKE controllers? Product Line EcoStruxure Security Expert Environment Security Expert 4.0.128 (or higher) Security Expert Controller 2.08.582 (or higher) TKE Controller (American) v2r0 (only supported version) SX-ELV-HLI-TK license to enable the integration Cause ThyssenKrupp TKE IP address configuration process occurs in the back-end. Resolution The integration operates over IP and the connection is established by the SP-C controller firmware based on who answers the heartbeat messages sent out. You do not need to input the IP address of the TKE controllers.   In the TK environment, our SP-C controllers take the place of 'Security Server' as seen in the image below. When controllers are grouped, one TKE Controller per group is designated as the Master. It is the lowest online Car ID in each group. All comms will pass through the Master. Security Server sends out a UDP broadcast message and TKE replies to it, Security Server takes note of the device's IP address and subsequent data messages are sent to this address.   What happens if the connection is lost from the Master: Offline scenario 1: If Elevator 1 was the Master from the ES Group 1 and it fell offline, then Elevator 2 would become the master and it would start replying to those heartbeats with its IP address, Security Expert takes note and starts sending messages there instead.   Offline scenario 2: If we can't communicate with them at all (legitimately offline), then TKE's default behaviour in 'Loss Of Security Communication Mode' is to free all DED/DEC/Kiosk buttons. This is configured on the TK Elevator's end.

License required for Advanced Display v3

Issue I have Advanced Display V3 connected to my EBO server. Do I need a client license? Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Advanced Display V3 Cause Building Operation Advanced Display V3 (AD v3) is an industrial-grade Human Machine Interface (HMI) that can easily be locked to an application such as EcoStruxure Building Operation WebStation to create a dedicated tool for local operation and maintenance of an EcoStruxure BMS. Resolution When connected to EcoStruxure BMS server, AD v3 is counted as one WebStation client. Starting from EBO v2, WorkStation and WebStation will both be considered a client, and each will require a concurrent license to be able to log into the system. Three client licenses are included with each Enterprise Central and each Enterprise Server. When logging directly into a SmartX server, the number of WebStation connections is limited only by the Architectural Guidelines*, which says that a client license is only needed if the AD v3 is connected to Enterprise Server or Enterprise Central directly. *From EBO 3.1 and forward there is no need to activate a Client feature license on SmartX servers to be able to connect WebStation to a SmartX server and log in. While versions 3.0.4 and 3.0.3 with hotfixes accomplished the same functionality, they did so by stating that 99 clients were available.

Issue Security Expert Evaluation License is no longer working. New Evaluation License is not working. Product Line EcoStruxure Security Expert Environment Security Expert Licensing Cause The policy for Security Expert Evaluation Licenses has changed since July 2020.
