How to connect a 4-wire PT100 on 3-wire RTD input

Issue How to connect a 4 wire PT100 or PT1000 sensor to a 3-wire RTD input. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation I/O Module 16 Ch RTD Cause Some PT100/PT1000 sensors have only 3 terminals to connect to. Resolution The wires to the sensor are often color marked in pair, like two red cables and two white cables. As we only have 3 terminals to connect to, the solution is to only connect 3 of the cables, and not connect the 4th cable.   As the RTD device also measure the resistance of the cables, to make a correct temperature reading, it is important that all three wires used do have the same length and resistance. Therefore, the fourth wire should NOT be connected in parallel, it has to be un-connected.

Satchwell BAS2800+ Operating system compatibility.

Issue Is BAS2800+ compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7 or higher? Product Line Satchwell BAS2800+ Environment Windows Vista Windows 7 Windows 8 Windows 10 Cause What Windows version can BAS2800+ version 2.9 and 2.10 run? Resolution Officially BAS2800+ version 2.9/10 has only been tested on and therefore is only officially supported on Windows NT, Windows 2000,Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server it has not undergone any official testing in Windows Vista or Windows 7. If BAS2800+ software is to be installed on a Windows Vista or higher, the customer should be warned that BAS2800+ has not been tested under that environment. Any issues identified would be their responsibility, Schneider Electric would not accept any liability for any issues encountered. It may be possible to run BAS2800+ using Windows 7 XP mode, however this is also not tested or supported, the best option would be to downgrade the computer to Windows XP. It should also be noted that BAS2800+ was discontinued in 2008 and no further effort will be made to update or test the product against newer operating systems.

The temperature displayed on a Satchwell CZT Climatronic controller shows three dashes

Issue The CZT controller does not display the correct temperature, only dashes. Product Line Field Devices Environment Satchwell CZT Climatronic controller Cause The temperature sensor used has not been connected to the correct controller input terminals. Resolution This controller type is capable of supporting the two ranges of Satchwell sensor, these are the original type, which had a resistance of 1690 ohms @ 20'C and the "T" type range, which has a resistance of 5573 ohms @ 20'C. Connection of the sensor to the controller is as follows; 1 - Old range sensor (1690 ohms @ 20'C) is connected to terminals 1 and 3. 2 - New "T" type sensor (5573 ohms @ 20'C) is connected to terminals 2 and 3. If the sensor is correctly connected before the controller is powered up, then the controller will establish which sensor type is connected to it, but if the wrong terminals are used, then it may be necessary to "Reload the controller Defaults" to obtain the correct reading. Reloading the controller Defaults. 1 - Ensure that the sensor wiring is correctly connected to the appropriate terminals. 2 - Power down the controller. 3 - Press and hold in the controller "Enter" key. 4 - Switch the controller power back on, while still pressing the "Enter" key in. 5 - Continue to press the "Enter" key for a few seconds, before releasing it. The controller will now display the correct temperature.

BAS2800+ - MultiTech MT5656 serial modem codes.

Issue MultiTech MT5656 serial modem codes. Product Line Satchwell BAS2800+ Environment MultiTech Modem Cause The MultiTech MT5600 is no longer available and is replace by the MT5656. Resolution The Multitech MT5600 modem has been made obsolete and has been replaced by the MT5656. We have experienced communication problems when mixing these two models of modem. It has been found that the most consistent and reliable AT codes for the Multitech MT5656 modem when communicating with an MT5600 modem connected at the BAS 2800+ front end are:- AT&F0 ATS0=1 ATE1 AT\N5 AT%C0 AT+MS=V34,1,300,9600,300,9600 AT&K0 ATQ0 AT%E2 ATX4 AT&D3 ATM0 AT&W0 AT&W1 Note: If any of the remote sites are using an MT5600 modem then the BAS 2800+ front end modem should always be an MT5600. If a replacement modem is required at the front end then it is recommended that one of the remote sites MT5600 modem is replaced with an MT5656 modem. This will release the MT5600 modem for front end duty. If the whole installation consists of MT5656 modems only, there are no known communications issues. When manually connecting from either front end or remote site a connection was established successfully every time.
