PCU/SLI controller went to Boot State after direct connect with PC

Issue PCU/SLI controller went to Boot State after direct connecting a CBL 072 cable from the controller to a PC/Laptop. Product Line TAC INET Environment PCU SLI CBL072 cable Cause Cable connections have most likely been reversed. Resolution The longer of the two female (9 pin) connectors must plug into the PC. The shorter of the two (9 pin) female connectors connects to the serial port of the controller. Label the connectors for future reference. If this does not correct the problem, check the cable wiring or replace the cable. For pin-out information and illustration on how to connect the cable, refer to the appropriate Controller TCON.

I/NET Software Part Numbers and License Rules

Issue Need to confirm the correct part number to upgrade I/NET Do I need to pay for the I/NET software to upgrade the site? When can I use a SEAT license? What are the rules / definitions for using SEAT / SITE Licenses with I/NET? Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Software I/NET 2000 I/NET Seven to 2.4x Cause Confusion with part numbers and license restrictions within I/NET software offering.  Resolution  Ordering information is usually contained within each of I/NET's Product Announcements. These are found on The Exchange Download Center as well as on Software and Firmware compatibility matrix for older versions of the traditional product lines. When upgrading from a “minor” revision, upgrades from v2.40 are free. All you need is the new version of v2.4x software which can be downloaded at no charge from the Buildings Business Extranet website. To download TAC I/NET Seven software, refer to Downloads and Schneider Electric software, tools, documents, and tips. Upgrades from pre-2.4x versions (i.e. v2.3x and below) are paid upgrades. Standard upgrade prices are the same whether upgrading from I/NET Seven v2.31 or I/NET 2000. When upgrading, all host PCs must be upgraded to the same version.  Upgrade / New Ordering part number information can be found in How many software versions of I/NET Seven are there? For information that needs to be provided during the ordering process or if you have an issue with the Site License key refer to License or CD Key Issues. I/NET Seven Software Definitions Site Licenses SEVENHVAC SEVENMAX SEVENSEC Definition of a SITE: “A building or collection of buildings at single or multiple locations owned and operated by ONE end user, upon which I/NET is installed.” Seat License: SEVENSEAT Definition of a SEAT “A license for an additional PC at a SITE as defined above, irrespective of configuration i.e. Remote Client, Filemaster, Equalized Client etc.”

Triggering an alarm or message if a point goes old in I/NET

Issue Triggering an alarm or message if a point goes old in I/NET Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Cause Need to track or actively monitor points that are frequently found with an Old flag. Resolution Connect to the controller that contains the point you wish to monitor. Create an internal DA or DI point to use as a monitoring point. (Set 0 as normal and 1 as alarm) Add a Calculation extension to this point with this Calculation: OLD(P0) [where P0 is the point you wish to monitor going old] If you wish to use one point to monitor several points that may go old, simply use the OR symbol which is " | ". The expression will look like this: OLD(P0)|OLD(P1)|OLD(P2)... Results: Whenever the monitored point goes old, your internal monitoring point will change to a value of 1. Remember that the calculation only runs once every scan interval so a longer scan interval will delay your results. For further information, read I/NET Indirect Point "Old Data" Filtering Techniques.

Re-use a point in an I/NET ASC

Issue To re-use a point in an ASC, should one delete it or just edit as needed Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Site Cause A point in an ASC needs to be repurposed from its original design. Resolution The point can merely be edited, provided it is available for re-use. Check closely in the functional description of the points in the specific TCON for that controller to ensure this is permitted on the point in question.

Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Site Cause The getting Started book incorrectly specifies that you may connect the com port of the computer to the com port of the NPR 2000 using a standard serial cable. Anti-passback (APB): Only receiving one / delayed transaction(s) even though multiple valid cards are presented to the reader

Issue Using anti-passback and the transactions are delayed by 5 (or more) seconds after the actual card is presented to the reader. During this period (while LED is green) no additional transactions are been recorded to AMT Transaction window. As a result of this the anti-passback is not working for the concurrent swipes.  The interval time between 2 swipes in the controller is configured to 2 seconds. We have tried changing it to zero, but we are not seeing more than transaction within this period come through to AMT. Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Seven 2.xx – with Anti-passback Cause When using anti-passback this is usually caused when you have defined the Door Sense setting in the Door Editor and it is either physically not wired or not working. By default this setting is set to Normally Open.   If you have this setting set to normally open or normally closed - the strike will remain energized until the system detects that the door has opened through the sense switch or the strike duration has elapsed, whichever occurs first, the default strike duration setting is 5 seconds. This means any badges that occur during this time are ignored; (only when anti-passback is enabled). Changing the Intercard interval will not make any difference in this situation. Resolution If the door status is not been monitored, you must set the door sense to none. If you are monitoring the door sense then make sure that the door sense activates on each card presentation so that the system recognizes the individual as entering the ‘zone’, therefore allowing the next card to be read.  Note: Implementing anti-passback also requires that you define access control zones. When you use Anti-passback in the true sense it is strongly recommended to use the door sense switch, this is to ensure the individual has actually entered that zone. In situations where this is not possible you can tell the system to ignore the door status by setting the door sense to none, it will then assume that the individual has entered the zone and provide the transaction thereof once the strike duration has expired.  In this case the door strike must be configured to suit the environment. Anti-passback requires that a door controller have both an entry reader and an exit reader. An elevator door controller will support only an entry reader, and therefore, will not support anti-passback. Refer to TCON 300 Chapter 9 – Access Control Anti-passback section for further information.  I/NET Anti-Passback (APB) rules may also be of assistance in setting up Anti-passback.

Replacement of the 7801 TAP

Issue Replacement of the 7801 TAP. Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET site with TAP configuration Cause Desire to upgrade or replace the old TAP configuration Resolution First of all, perform a good backup of the existing site. 7770, 7771, 7797, 7801 TAP replacement hardware explains the replacement of several TAP hardware devices. If the site has a 7801 TAP, the Xenta 527 would be a replacement choice. In I/O server instead of Link Type being Direct, it should be None. Then Enable the TCP/IP and put in the credentials for the Xenta 527. In Network Config, save Xenta 527 link Penetrate and save all below the Xenta 527 to DB Configure Host Mask for Host computer, as well as Xenta 527 The site technicians will need to follow the TCONs and manuals for the Xenta to Host pc, including the wiring and Host Computer configuration, and network connection. This is clearly explained. Also, for the sub controllers, Connect to the controller one at a time Select Edit, Controller, Configuration In the Distribution Parameters section, change the selection from Reliable Tap to None. Reset that controller by cycling power or pressing RED reset button Check the transactions window of AMT to ensure events coming in The site engineers/technicians will need to take time and looking through the material and changing out the TAP with a Xenta requires time and concentration so that it is a smooth transition.
