BAS 2800+ – Adding a New Logging Database and Making It Current

Issue How to add a new logging database in BAS 2800+ and set it as the current active database. Product Line Satchwell BAS & Sigma Environment Satchwell BAS 2800+ Cause A new logging database is required—either due to data management policies, storage limitations, or the need to archive historical data. Resolution To create and activate a new logging database in BAS 2800+, follow these steps: Open System Manager. Navigate to DataView. Select Data > Logging Databases from the top menu The system will display a list of existing logging databases. Click Add to create a new database. Enter a name for the new database. Select the option to Make Current to set the new database as the active one. The system will now begin storing all new data in the newly created logging database. Additional Information Ensure that the new database name is unique and follows your site’s naming conventions. Making a database “current” means all subsequent data will be logged to this new database. Archived databases can still be accessed for historical data review.

Sigma – Creating a Programmable Object to Compare Temperatures at Two Different Times

Issue There is a need to compare two temperature readings taken at different times—for example, at 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The goal is to determine whether the temperature has increased or decreased over that period. If the 4:00 PM temperature is higher, the output should be TRUE; if lower, FALSE. Product Line Satchwell BAS & Sigma Environment Satchwell Sigma Cause Users require guidance on how to implement a programmable object that performs this time-based temperature comparison. Resolution The following Sigma programmable object logic fulfills the requirement: 10 IF TIME = 10:00 THEN XINT = 1 20 IF TIME = 16:00 THEN XINT = 2 30 IF XINT UP THEN GOTO 50 40 GOTO 100 50 IF XINT = 1 THEN XFLO = POINT 1 60 IF XINT = 2 THEN YFLO = POINT 2 70 IF XINT <> 2 THEN GOTO 90 80 IF XFO > FLO THEN YINT = 1 ELSE YINT = 0 90 XINT = 0 100 IF YINT = 1 THEN RETURN TRUE "Higher" ELSE RETURN FALSE "Lower" Explanation of Logic Lines 10–20: Set a flag ( XINT ) based on the current time. Line 30: Checks if the time flag has incremented. Lines 50–60: Store the temperature readings at the respective times. Line 70: Ensures comparison only occurs after both readings are captured. Line 80: Compares the two temperatures and sets the result flag ( YINT ). Line 100: Returns the final result: TRUE if the temperature increased, FALSE if it decreased.

How to link and display a camera view from the Active Event View.

Issue Displaying live or recorded video associated with a door. Environment Video Integration Cyberstation Cause Advice on linking video to access control. Resolution Create your Video Server for your Pelco DVR and find all the cameras. If you have created an Active Event view and added the doors you wish to monitor in that view, you should start to see the events appear as required.   Now to link this to Video Layouts, create a Video Layout by right clicking on the root and select New Video Layout. Select the layout view required, probably a single camera view would be best for 1 door. Right click on the black camera screen, select the Video Server you have previously created with the camera you require for that door. Select the live button and this should show up the image from that camera. Now Edit the Door object, go to the Alarms tab. Click on the ... button next to the Video: field. Select the new Video Layout you have created for that door. Open the Active Event viewer; swipe some cards to get some events in the window. Select one of the events from the door you have setup and then click on the Video icon above, the Video layout for that door will show. You can link each door to a different Video Layout to show the correct camera view. Note: The Active Event View is a view of live information as it happens, once the window is closed the view will be lost. Historical/ logged access data can be viewed from the Event logs and video via the Pelco video system.

Can a new Xenta Server with hardware version 3 be downgraded to a firmware of lower version?

Issue Now the newest firmware version of Xenta server is 5.1.8, and the hardware version is 3. If a new Xenta server in an old project is needed to replace an old Xenta server with old version, it is not compatible with the old TAC Vista or I/NET software version of the project. So downgrade of the firmware is needed. Environment TAC Xenta 500/700/900 TAC Vista Cause Controller with new firmware is not compatible with the old TAC Vista or I/NET software. Resolution The controller with hardware 3 can be downgraded, but with only three versions: 5.1.6 SP1, 5.1.7 SP2 (or SP3 for X700) and 5.1.8 SP1. If any firmware other than these three versions is downloaded to the Xenta server, there will be no warning and it will be "bricked". Refer to TPA-VSTA-12-0029.00.
