Cause
A new logging database is required—either due to data management policies, storage limitations, or the need to archive historical data.
Resolution
To create and activate a new logging database in BAS 2800+, follow these steps:
- Open System Manager.
- Navigate to DataView.
- Select Data > Logging Databases from the top menu
- The system will display a list of existing logging databases.
- Click Add to create a new database.
- Enter a name for the new database.
- Select the option to Make Current to set the new database as the active one.
- The system will now begin storing all new data in the newly created logging database.
Additional Information
- Ensure that the new database name is unique and follows your site’s naming conventions.
- Making a database “current” means all subsequent data will be logged to this new database.
- Archived databases can still be accessed for historical data review.
