INET Custom Report creation

Issue Need for a custom report for the customer, client, user. How to create custom reports. Product Line TAC I/NET Environment I/NET Seven system with the need for Reporting Cause Reports which come with I/NET Seven software preloaded reports may not give the desired report needed or wanted Resolution Clients or Customers often come up with specific reports needed for their site. PSS does not support custom reports, make custom reports for clients, or assist in the development or production of custom reports. You can understand, the report's clients are endless and we simply would be covered up with requests and changes at every site worldwide. It is recommended to take a look at TCON301 (TAC INET Seven Database Connectivity and Reporting) beginning on page 4-1 which explains SevenReports. It is also suggested to look at and compare the different tables and what information they contain. Here you can get a better understanding of reports and take a canned report.  the reports which are available on the install CD and change to fit the needs of your client. This is the fastest and best approach to the manufacturing of custom reports.

ID Works Limitations when configured with I/NET Seven

Issue What are the limitations of using ID Works with I/NET Seven? Can a "begin time" or an "end time" be assigned to a temporary card from ID Works (Card Access Control Data Entry)? Can an individual’s record be made a "DPU Resident" from ID Works? (I/NET Seven 1.0x) What is the format of the CardID entry in the ID Works system? Can assign PIN numbers be used with an ID Works system? Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Seven ID Works  -  For details of what version of Datacard ID Works Software integrates correctly with I/NET Seven refer to Datacard ID Works Software versions for integrating with I/NET Seven.  Cause I/NET Seven provides support for Datacard ID Works identification software. I/NET Seven provides a database view specifically designed for use with ID Works. This view contains tenant and individual data used by the ID Works Video Badging application. It allows you to add individuals, assign key/cards, edit individual parameters, or even delete individuals.  The limitations described below are imposed anytime that you use ID Works to modify your I/NET Seven access control system. Resolution The limitations described below are imposed anytime that you use ID Works to modify your I/NET Seven access control system. ID Works does not allow you to add or modify multiple cards for a single individual. ID Works does not allow you to remove a card from an individual without deleting the individual record in I/NET Seven. You cannot disable an individual’s card without disabling the individual in the I/NET Seven. You cannot create a new group or a new tenant from within ID Works. You cannot assign a begin time or an end time to a temporary card from ID Works – only dates can be entered. I/NET Seven will use a default time of 00:00 (Midnight) on the dates specified. If you need to change this default time, it requires you to go into I/NET Seven > Access > Individuals editor. You cannot make an individual’s record be DPU resident from ID Works. You cannot assign a decimal card number to an individual from within ID Works. The format for this entry has to be a hexadecimal number. You cannot set and individual’s APB scheme (i.e., hard, soft, or graced antipassback) from within ID Works. You cannot assign a PIN to an individual from within ID Works. These can be access via the I/NET individual editor. For further information refer to TCON301 Chapter 5.

I/NET - Temporary Individual download problem

Issue I/NET - Temporary Individual download problem Environment I/Net Seven using Access Control with at least one host pc for making badges or used for Access Control editing. Cause Download of changes to Access cards or Individual information not getting to the controller right away. Resolution If you add a card to the system and want it to be temporary be sure to check the "Automatic DPU restore" under Edit - Network configuration choose modify the Link. Choose what Host that should handle the request. Listing more than one Host address will increase network traffic and burden the network. I suggest you put a single Badging Machine or Host for Restore host 1. This can be read about in TCON300 under page 5-10.

When editing / adding a new I/NET Configuration Profile the Database Server section is blank DBCreate does not start.  Appears in task Manager but no user interface is shown. Within DBCreate the restore option is grayed out Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Seven 2.4x Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 families of operating systems. (both 32 and 64 bit) Microsoft SQL 2008 Standard or Express Editions Microsoft SQL 2008 R2 Standard or Express Editions Cause I/NET must have the SQL 2005 Backward compatibility file installed.  If this is not installed I/NET will not locate the SQL Server and hence will issue an “initialization failure” error.  This is can also be identified in either the DBCreate or I/NET Configuration application editors which will show no entries in their "Database Server" settings. The document also details information that is necessary for a Standard or Express editions of SQL 2008 / SQL 2008 R2. I/NET Reference Host Suggested Configuration

Issue I/NET Reference Host Suggested Configuration Environment I/NET NPR Xenta 527-NPR Xenta 527 Xenta 913 Xenta 731 Cause There are many opinions about the correct use of Reference Hosts.  This is a suggested use which will be successful for most sites. Resolution  From TCON 298 A Reference Host is any TAC I/NET workstation, NPR, or Xenta 527/527-NPR that will serve as a source of IP addresses. Any of these devices attached to an Ethernet LAN can be used as a Reference Host.  Each time I/O Server is started on a workstation, it provides the workstation’s IP address to each remote host designated as a Reference Host. I/O Server also requests and receives a list of all host IP addresses that are known to the remote host at that time. I/O Server must be running on the remote host for this address exchange to occur. I/O Server compiles and maintains a list of all the remote hosts that it learns about. Ultimately, all hosts in the network will know the IP addresses of all the other hosts.  Ideally, you should determine 1 or at most 2 devices to serve as your Reference Host.  This device would ideally be a Xenta Server or an NPR, but a Host workstation that has I/O Server running 100% of the time will work as well.   All devices on the system will use this as a single Reference Host. No others are needed.  When the device comes online it will contact the Reference Host and get the site’s Routing Table.  The Reference Host can have an empty routing table.  Once the Routing Table is shared, Reference Hosts are no longer needed.  You can leave the single entry in place. This will allow a quick recover, in the event of a critical system failure.  Here are a few reasons for using multiple Reference Hosts: Temporarily add a new device as a Reference Host on the Sites Reference Host or a workstation to aid in bringing it online A large site may desire to have 2 Reference Hosts in case one is offline when a device comes online. An  I/NET site that spans multiple locations may wish to declare a local Reference Host for each building and a network Reference Host

Issue What are the new features that are available in the 3.xx firmware version of the DPU. Should we upgrade to the latest EPROM revision for the DPU 7910A / 7920A If we do not upgrade the EPROM will I/NET work properly. 7910 / 7920 DPU Transactions not showing up in AMT - including Disabled / Deny Entry Sel / Deny Entry Schd (Schedule) 7910 / 7920 DPU Door Editor changes not downloaded to controller. Editor changes revert back to None. Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET Seven DPU 7910A / 7920A 2.23 and above. Cause The recommendation is to always upgrade to the latest revision. In some cases this is not always possible. Please review the information below to determine if these features and fixes are required for your installation. Note: The implications are that if you choose to leave the EPROMs at the earlier revision, and you enable the new features which are a "Global" setting (for example User defined PIN) then the DPUs with the unsupported firmware will not accept these changes even though you have defined this at the Host. If you require these features then you MUST upgrade the DPU which require these features and / or fixes. Resolution I/NET Seven is backward compatible with all previous hardware firmware revisions of the DPU. The recommendation is too always upgrade to the latest revision to enable all of I/NET's features and fixes included in these revisions. If you have any additional concerns then please contact Product Support. Below are the New Features introduced in firmware revision 3.00: This release contains changes to support a real time clock and the ability to report messages with seconds. I/NET Direct Digital Control (DDC) Modules

Issue A more in-depth description of each of the Direct Digital Control (DDC) modules in I/NET Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET DDC DCUs, PCUs, MRs Two Position Module (2POS) PID Controller (PID) Float Module (FLT) Reset Module DDC Hi/Lo Module (HI/LO) Relay Module (Single Pole Double Throw Relay) Calc Module Cause DDC is a system that measures a variable, compares the variable with a known value to determine the error, processes the error using a specific software algorithm, and then produces an output to modify the controlled variable. Resolution Most of these modules are discussed in both TCON 083 or  TCON 299 System Operator Guide for more details. (The System Operator Guide is installed by default on your I/NET Host Workstation) DDC Two Position Module (2POS) This module is used where the final control element is in either one state or another opposite state (ON/OFF, OPEN/SHUT). This type of control will commonly be used for simple heating or cooling systems, starting and stopping motors, controlling water sprays for humidification, etc. This module is available in our PCUs and DCUs; and you can customize it for your needs.  DDC PID Controller (PID) In Proportional (P), Proportional + Integral (PI), and Proportional + Integral + Derivative (PID) control, the control element moves linearly to a position that is proportional to the deviation and the rate of deviation of the controlled process variable from a prescribed setpoint. This type of control, in any of its three modes, or combinations thereof, is commonly used for the control of modulating valves, vanes or modulating motors where a proportional output control point is used. The proportional output control point may be either an analog output (voltage, current, resistance) or a pulse width output where the duration of the pulse is proportional to the error variation. This module is available in our PCUs and DCUs; and you can customize it for your needs.  DDC Float Module (FLT) Traditionally, floating control actuates a control device when the error, i.e. the difference between the controlled process variable and the setpoint, exceeds a deadband and maintains the control until the error is within the deadband. The floating controller is based on the same principle however it has been enhanced to include PID control without the requirement for analog output or pulse width position feedback. The output of this controller may be directed toward either a pair of variable pulse width discrete outputs to control a bi-directional drive motor or dual EP value arrangement which is generally described as a "pressure-vent" controller. This type of control is commonly used for the same applications as the PID controller where positive feedback is either unnecessary or economically unsound. This module is available in our PCUs and DCUs; and you can customize it for your needs.  DDC Reset Module (RESET) Reset is used to develop a setpoint output in an inversely or directly proportional relationship to one or two analog inputs and one or two operator-specific reset schedules. This module is available in our PCUs and DCUs; and you can customize it for your needs.  DDC Hi/Lo Module (HI/LO) This module is used to provide the highest and/or lowest value from two or more measured variables, most commonly temperatures. HI/LO can be cascaded to accommodate virtually any number of inputs of similar nature. Typically the lowest space temperature would be the most logical to use to directly reset the heating water setpoint. The HI/LO modules provide the control engineer with a convenient alternative method for making the selection. The HI/LO modules may also be used as an OR/NOR selector by using the state(s) of various monitored discrete points. This module is available in our PCUs and DCUs; and you can customize it for your needs.  DDC Relay Module (Single Pole Double Throw Relay) This module provides a mechanism for selecting one of two values or states based on conditions within the controlled environment. The actions of the relay are controlled by one discrete input and control which of two input states or values is directed to the output. The inputs and output may be either discrete or analog. The actions of this relay are analogous to its electric/electronic counterpart in its simplest form. This module is available in our PCUs and DCUs; and you can customize it for your needs.  DDC Calc Module This module functions similarly to calculations added to a point through the calculation extension editor. This module is only available in Micro Regulators (MR). It is not available in Application Specific Controllers (ASC).
