Possible corruption SQL Database and DCUxxxx.sav files when upgrading I/NET Seven from Rev 1.xx to rev 2.13 and above

Issue There is a possible corruption of the SQL Database and the DCUxxxx.sav files when upgrading I/NET Seven from Rev 1.xx to I/NET Seven rev 2.13 and above Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET site 1.xx Cause Corruption of the SQL Database and the DCUxxxx.sav files Resolution If you do a fresh install of Inet Seven 2.13 and above and restore an Inet Seven rev 1.xx SQL DB. There is a possibility of having the SQL Database and the DCUxxxx.sav files getting corrupt if you do not properly save the NETCON file. The example below is an Inet Seven rev 1.06 SQL database that was restored to a fresh install of Inet Seven rev 2.14. This is what the NETCON file looks like; if you do a station restore at this point you will corrupt the system. Look at step 2 for the correct way to handle this. Taking the above example and changing it to look like the one below will prevent the corruption from occurring in the Inet Database and DCUxxxx.sav files. Please NOTE this issue will be corrected in Inet Seven rev 2.16 and above. Note: Remember while you are in the NETCON editor; penetrate each station in the MCU summary page. Edit and Save each DPU entry so that the “Type” is correct DPU type (7910, or 7920). Also, save the revision of something close, such as 3.03 or 3.04 for the 7910 & 7920. Make sure that there are no “*”, “Blank spaces” or “0.00” displayed when you are done. Also make sure you “SAVE” NETCON all the way down to the door level.

What is the Network ID-UDP setting as seen in BACnet Controllers?

Issue What is the Network ID-UDP Setting required for and does this need to be changed when commissioning a new BACnet Continuum controller? Product Line Andover Continuum Environment bCX4040 bCX4000 Cause Require information on the Continuum BACnet Network setting (physical layer). Resolution Each network segment in a BACnet network is assigned a unique integer as an identifier for ease of routing packets between these networks. For more information see Effect on a BACnet network if the Network Id - UDP setting in bCX40x0 have been set to different values   BACnet Network ID-UDP Setting This defines the ID number of the BACnet/IP network on which this controller resides. When creating a Continuum BACnet controller the default UDP Net ID is set to 1. This setting would need to be the same for all BACnet controllers that want to communicate with each other across the network.   Why would you want to change it? You may have a site for example that already has a BACnet network running on the ethernet and not want to communicate on the same BACnet UDP Net Id as their BACnet devices do. In this case you could change the UDP Net Id for your BACnet communications but it needs to be the same for all of your BACnet devices since the routing tables in the controllers would need to know which UDP Net Id to route to. If you changed the UDP Net Id to 2 then all controllers would need to be set to 2 to make sure they were able to communicate efficiently with each other.

I/NET Message Masking

Issue I/NET Message Masking Product Line TAC INET Environment I/NET site pre 2.13 Cause Message Masking with Rev. 2.13 and prior Resolution In Rev 2.13 a new configuration option was introduced, Server/Remote Client. The Server should be set to mask for all Links’ messages and AMT similarly set. If this configuration is chosen, it will be necessary to use filters in AMT if it is desired to display only selected link messages on a host. In Rev 2.12 and earlier versions, the message masking for the links could be set so a host would receive messages from only selected links. AMT on those hosts with masking similarly set would therefore display messages from only those links. An example of using masks to route messages for File master//Equalized Clients is shown on link below. There are three links and three hosts. It is desired that Host 1 see messages and interact with controllers only on Link 1. Host 2 will handle Link 2 and Host 3 will handle Link 3. Link 1 controllers can use Group 1 bits 1 and 8, Link 2 controllers use Group 2 bits 1 and 8, and Link controllers use Group 3 bits 1 and 8. Host 1 will then set Group 1 bits 1 and 8 for link 1. Host 2 will set Group 2 bits 1 and 8. Host 3 will set Group 3 bits 1 and 8 (these masks are arbitrary and were chosen for illustration only). AMT masking is set the same for these hosts. File master/Equalized Client Server/Remote Client In the Server/Remote Client configuration all messages are routed to the Server (Host 1). AMT can then be configured on a host to show messages from only selected links using the filter option in AMT. To display messages from only Link 1 on the Server (Host 1) set up a filter to select messages from just Link 1 as shown in the linked document below: The Start address has to be an address before the start of the link desired in order to show all messages for the link. In this example it is assumed there are no devices on the link 00. If there were, set the Start to the highest possible address that is not used, e.g. 00633109. Message Masking

LMGRD "crashing" upon restarting the PC

Issue Every time the computer reboots, LMGRD errors are shown at startup.   LMGRD encountered a problem and needed to close. lmgrd.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x0012e854" referenced memory at "0xffffff91". The memory could not be "written". Product Line Other, Satchwell MicroNet, Satchwell Sigma, TAC Vista Environment Vista Server 5.0 FlexNet Licensing Remote Alarm Manager Sigma BAS2800+ Micronet Errors Cause There is a known issue with the new license server from Flexnet. The LMGRD.exe is actually crashing during shut down of the PC. Resolution This is nothing dangerous. What happens is that when you turn off the PC, something is happening with the license server during the shutdown phase. Since LMGRD runs as service, it can not display this error message during this shut down. The error message is shown the next time the PC is started. It will not affect anything since the error messages is queued from the last shutdown sequence, NOT during the startup. We think it has something to do with having a license server installed and not using only an entitlement license. In some situations, placing a customer license file from any project into the license folder along with the monthly demo license stops the LMGRD error. The license server may read the customer license, note that it is invalid, then use the monthly license. Flexnet is looking into this issue. Look for a fix in upcoming versions. On Sigma, BAS2800+, and Micronet systems where Remote Alarm Manager is installed, the TAC license server can be uninstalled as it is not used.

What amount of memory is used for DPU Resident Individuals in DPU/SCU controller

Issue What amount of memory is used for DPU Resident Individuals in the DPU\SCU controller? Product Line TAC I/NET Environment I/NET Seven - Access control DPU7910A, DPU7920, DPU7920 w/DPU48K, and SCU1284 Cause Need to understand the memory allocation and implications of using DPU Resident settings with both the DPU or SCU hardware devices. Resolution To set the Individual as DPU Resident the DPU Res. checkbox needs to be checked in the Individuals editor as shown below (red box) shown below.     In the table below from TCON300 05/17 Chapter 9-14 shows the memory allocation for a 7910A DPU or DPU7920   If you have a selection of between 6000 to 12000 Resident User Individuals (i.e. set as DPU Resident) in the system you can ONLY have between 3262 to 2887 Cached users respectively stored within a properly communicating system.  If the DPU is offline to the Sub LAN Interface (SLI) these cached users will be reduced as the requirement for the DPU storage capacity will need to store 'offline' messages as shown under the "Messages" column.     In the table below from TCON300 05/17 Chapter 9-15  shows the memory allocation for a SCU1284 DPU or DPU7920 w/DPU48K   If you have a selection of between 6000 to 12000 Resident Users Individuals (i.e. set as DPU Resident) in the system you can have the full quota of 48,000 Cache Users respectively stored within a properly communicating system.  Unlike the DPU7910 or 7920 if the DPU is offline to the Sub LAN Interface (SLI) there is no change to these cached users and there is more 'offline' message storage as shown under the "Messages" column. For further information on DPU Caching and memory management read from Chapter 9-11 in TCON300-05/17

Creating a standard graphic in Vista 5

Issue The standard graphic object does not exist in Vista 5 the same way it did in previous versions so an alternative method for creating a standardized graphic is necessary. Product Line TAC Vista Environment Vista Workstation TGML Graphics Cause The standard graphic object does not exist in Vista 5 as it did in earlier versions. Relative bindings and shortcuts replicate the functionality of having one graphic source file represent data from several different pieces of equipment. Resolution There are a couple of alternative methods to creating a standardized graphic that will work where many identical or similar devices exist. Below is an example of the first method. The scenario is a site where multiple Xenta 121 devices exist and each need individual graphics. In Vista Workstation locate the first Xenta 121 device in the folders pane on the left and right click and select New > Object > Graphic - TGML to create a new graphic that resides in the controller object.   Create a standardized graphic that uses naming conventions that are common to all of the devices that will use the graphic. In the example the actual SNVT names from the Xenta 121 are used for the point names. When the graphic is complete, save it and create the graphic bindings to the controller where the graphic resides.   From the bindings pane select all of the bindings then right click and select Apply Relative Address.   The addresses on the bindings will now only contain references to the points within the controller but will not have any reference to the controller name as shown below.   Close the bindings window and right click the graphic object and select copy.   Right click on the next device and select Paste Shortcut. Repeat this step for all of the relevant devices.   Now, clicking on the shortcut to the graphic from any of the devices will open up a copy of the graphic that is bound to the device in which the shortcut resides. The other is similar but places all of the shortcuts to the graphics in individual folders rather than down in the devices. It also requires that shortcuts be made in the folders to each of the devices. Create a graphic (use this graphic as a standard graphic) with relative bindings. Create folders for e.g. every room. In this folder, add shortcuts to the controllers, also add a shortcut to the graphic (with the relative bindings). By doing this you can have the function of "TGML standard Graphics" as in earlier OGC graphics.

Create smooth rotation for an object in a TGML graphic

Issue Create smooth rotation for an object in a Vista TGML graphic Product Line TAC Vista, EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment TGML Graphics Editor Cause If the "CalcMode" is set to "Discrete" the object will rotate the full specified range instead of taking the duration time to slowly move around it.  Resolution Add a <rotate> tag to the object that will be rotating. Add an <animate> tag to the rotation. Set the properties for the animation: Animation = default state (Start/Stop), if a binding is ultimately used to control when the animation occurs, bind to this attribute. AutoReverse = should the animation continue in one direction or get to the end of the animation and then come back to the beginning? (True/False) CalcMode = determines whether the animation is smooth or jumps from end point to end point of the animation. For rotation, choose Linear. (Linear/Discrete) Duration = the amount of time in seconds that the animation should take. Higher numbers result in slower animation. Freeze = if true, the animation will pause at the last position when Animation is set to False. Otherwise it will revert back to the starting position. (True/False) Repeat = how many times should the animation occur. Default value is "Forever" but this value can also be set to any integer number (1, 2, 3, 4...) From, To = depend on the desired animation and target attribute. For rotation 0 to 360 is typical. Attribute = for rotation, the Angle property of the <rotate> tag is animated from 0 to 360 degrees. For more information on CalcMode see ‘Animation Overview’ in the Help.
