Issue Routers / i.Lons configured as repeaters pass everything and consume bandwidth causing throughput / slowness issues in your system. Environment LON physical layer L-IP routers Cause The cause of throughput/slowness issues in a network might be that it is bogged down with needless communication. Resolution Configure router ports as "Repeater" to avoid channel conflicts during the construction phase of a project. After all of the nodes are commissioned, configure all routers as configured routers so that they only pass what is necessary upstream. This is especially important if using i.Lon 1000s, 600s, or Loytec L-IP routers as they will pass that unneeded data onto the ethernet.

Issue What's the latest version available in Pocket I/A? What make/model of handheld device was used in testing? Environment Pocket I/A Cause Would like to confirm the device is running the latest version of Pocket I/A. Resolution Pocket I/A Version 4.1 (Release B) is an update to previous versions of Pocket I/A to support the Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Operating System used with newer handhelds. The features and applications in previous versions of Pocket I/A will continue to operate in Pocket I/A Version 4.1 (Release B). This version was tested using an HP IPAQ HX 2490B with MSMobile 5.0 operating system. Pocket I/A 4.1 can be downloaded from The Exchange Download Center.

Issue DDC Lines show only inconsistently when viewed through a Xenta 527 Web Server Graphic Environment I/NET Xenta 527 5.1.3 and below Cause Issue corrected in 5.1.4 release Resolution Upgrade the Xenta 527 to the latest revision of I/NET or at least 5.1.4 Upgrade Xbuilder to the exact same revision Send the upgraded project files to the upgraded controller.

Issue When copying a trend log in Xbuilder 5.1.6, the green arrows on the signals disappear. Environment TAC Xbuilder 5.1.6 Cause Bug in the code that appeared in v5.1.6 Resolution If you bind something to the signal or reload the project, the green arrows appears again. This issue will be fixed in version 5.1.7.

Issue PC was changed - for example because of a PC crash. Restored Vista and log backups. After that, logged data can be read, but no new values are logged. Environment Vista 5.1.7 Cause Vista 5.1.7 was installed and started on the new computer then the time on the computer was set to a future date by the IT department. During the time the PC clock was set to the future date values were logged. Then the time was set back to present time. The problem now is that "Next log time" will be potentially far in the future so no log will be logged until that date.   Resolution Correct the PC time Restore the log backup and Vista backup again Start Vista

Issue After upgrading Remote Alarm Manager 1.2 to 2.0 none of the settings site specific configuration is carried over and Remote Alarm Manager can't detect the license. Environment Sigma 4 Remote Alarm Manager 2.0 Cause The site has upgraded Remote Alarm Manager through several iterations over time, versions of Remote Alarm Manager prior to version 1.001 stored site configuration data with the source system data. For example in the C:\Sigma\Data\Remote Alarm Manager\ folder, current versions typically store the data by default in:- For Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Remote Alarm Manager. For later operating systems - C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\Remote Alarm Manager. Resolution There are two possible ways to resolve the issue:- After installation of the software run the Computer Configuration utility (this runs by default) and deselect (uncheck) the Windows Common Application Data checkbox on the "Data Location" tab and enter the path to the current Remote Alarm Manager data location. After Installing the software and running the Computer Configuration utility copy the setup.mdb and log.mdb files from the current location to the default location used by the software:- For Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Remote Alarm Manager. For later operating systems - C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\Remote Alarm Manager.

Issue Calibration requirement? Environment STD300: 006920121 STD300-300 -50/50 006920141 STD300-300 0/100 Cause Some sensors on the market requires calibration when connected to the controller, in order to function properly. Resolution No calibration is required when connecting the STD300 to a Xenta controller. The sensor is using a 4-20mA output signal, so the controller needs to be configured for this type of signal in order to work with this sensor.

Issue There used to be an Inovonics wireless sensor solution available in our product catalog but this is no longer available. Is there another solution available? Environment All Controllers Inovonics Cause Inovonics devices are no longer distributed, and are only available through third party sales channels. Resolution Unfortunately, we no longer provide these sensors through our distribution channels.  Inovonics and other third party wireless devices are available through external distribution channels only.

Issue How to determine which version of the CPU card (GCMA-112-x) of the GCM-84000 series supports the GCS, ASD, or other communication protocol. Environment GCMA-112-x, CPU printed circuit board for the GCM-84000 series Cause Cross reference purposes.  Resolution   CPU Part No. Bus Type GCMA-112-000 GCS (standard) GCMA-112-001 GCS (standard) GCMA-112-002 ASD GCMA-112-003 CCL GCMA-112-010 GIM-21000 GCMA-112-011 GIM-MTECH This table shows which version of the GCM CPU card supports the different firmware and bus types.

Issue Additional log sample that shows 0 between each log sample Environment Vista Xenta Cause In our trendlogs in the Xenta 700 we have a log sample with the value 0 just before each valid sample. Resolution Synchronize the Xenta so it has the same time as Vista / PC

Issue WebReports returns only partial results for the Consumption Report when using the Meter Utility Type   Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation  Environment Building Operation Report Server Building Operation WebReports Cause This is a limitation of the Meter report, where the report returns approximately 50 Meter reports at a time regardless of how many meters are selected. Resolution It is recommended that 30 - 40 meters at most be selected at a time for this report.  Selecting more meters for the report may result in data overlap and unexpected output. Issue What does the Infinity System Variable named Rdr1Connected through Rdr8Connected detect   Environment CX9702   - Rdr1Connected through Rdr2Connected ACX5720 - Rdr1Connected through Rdr4Connected ACX5740 - Rdr1Connected through Rdr8Connected ACX57x0   Cause Information on Infinity System Variable named Rdr1Connected through Rdr8Connected Resolution The  Infinity System Variables named Rdr1Connected, Rdr2Connected, Rdr3Connected, Rdr4Connected, Rdr5Connected, Rdr6Connected, Rdr7Connected and Rdr8Connected are only found on controllers CX9702 and ACX57xx. The value (true or false) can be used to indicate which card reader channels have card readers connected to them. 1. The Controller checks the connection of card readers by physically checking the voltage applied to the reader. This can make the LED appear to flickering with high frequency, although this is normally not visible. 2. LED1 is monitored, if the LED1 connected correctly then RdrXConnected value is true, otherwise it is false.

Issue Added BACnet MS/TP devices to UNC-510, configuring the port to a baud rate of 38.4kbaud and cannot keep the MS/TP port enabled. Environment UNC-510 with BACnet 527i jar file Cause Maximum baud rate for the RS-485 port(s) on a UNC-510 is 19.2kbaud. Resolution Must set the baud rate for the MS/TP driver to 9600 or 19,200 baud.   Faster baud rates are not supported by the UNC-510 hardware. If adding the BACnet jar file to a previously loaded UNC, you must also add the following line driver.mstp=tridium.nre.vxworks.mstp.VxWorksMstpDriver to the drivers.properties file in the UNC.  Please note that the information in this line is case sensitive and must be entered as shown.

Issue Is there a limit to the alarms, messages and transactions a printer tap will receive and print? Environment AMT Cause You cannot get them from another link that is Ethernet connected. Resolution It is limited to alarms, messages and transactions that originate on the same controller lan as the printer tap.

Issue Add a receiver group to a Xenta server alarm in Xbuilder Environment TAC Xbuilder Cause Easiest way to add a alarm receiver group to an alarm. So that an e-mail is sent when the alarm is triggered Resolution Drag and drop the alarm receiver object on top of the alarm.

Issue How can the selected object be easily viewed after performing a "Find Object" or "Find Reference" in WorkPlace Tech? Environment WorkPlace Tech Cause Enable "Center Selection on Zoom" in WorkPlace Tech. Resolution In WorkPlace Tech, choose Tools - Visio Options. Select the "General" tab. Check the box for "Center Selection on Zoom" and click OK. Now, after choosing "Find Object" or "Find Reference" the selected object will appear in the center of the window.

Issue All the correct $LAN objects are setup in the Vista Master and Slave but neither will communicate with each other. If you check the nodes, the connection status shows connected but the Servers will not be online. Environment Vista 5 Cause The server has had the DMZ zone settings Unchecked. This will prevent Server to Server communications. Resolution Recheck the Server DMZ setting back to the standard install defaults.

Issue Getting LON messages TException E_QUEUE_FULL {LonAsyncRequest} in the standard output window. Environment R2, Niagara, Lon Service Cause If also in the message there is a line that includes: "lonextras.control.PollSnvtTempSetptCmd.execute" these messages are being caused by the use of the special object from the LonExtras jar called PollSnvtTempSetptCmd.  Resolution When the station is booting up the PollSnvtTempSetptCmd object  will begin its polling function before the station has finished rebooting causing the queue to fill up before the station starts.  There is an object in the LonWorks jar - Conversion container called SnvtTempSetptCmd that will perform the same function as the PollSnvtTempSetptCmd except it does not poll which is not necessary in most cases.  Replace all PollSnvtTempSetptCmd objects in the station with the SnvtTempSetptCmd object.

Issue Does the Enterprise Server license have a 'node count' like the server license in Niagara R2? Environment SmartStruxure Niagara R2 Cause Comparing the order processes between I/A Niagara R2 and SmartStruxure Resolution The Enterprise Server has an open license.  There is no 'node count' built into it as is the case with Niagara R2. Keep in mind that version 1.3 of SmartStruxure supports a maximum of 32 AS controllers (for optimum system performance).
