Issue The TAC Xenta Operator Panel does not hold steady when navigating down into programmable controller point lists. At random times the OP will back out and return to the main screen with the list of programmable controllers. Environment Operator Panel (OP) Vista Cause The XENTASYSREG bit 0 does not work in version 3.87 of the Xenta programmable controllers.  Resolution The latest firmware hotfixes need to be downloaded and installed for the corresponding TAC Xenta programmable controllers. For all Xenta Versions, download Hotfix version 3.87-02 on The Exchange Download Center.

Issue What steps are needed to configure and add Mercury Intelligent IP Controllers to Access Expert Product Line EcoStruxure Access Expert Environment Access Expert Hosted V3 Cause Instruction steps are needed to configure and add Mercury Intelligent IP Controllers to Access Expert Resolution Overview Intelligent Controllers synchronize with Access Expert in real time, but all access decisions are made locally and independently from the server. This means that the processing of events, actions, and alarms remains local and functional even if network connectivity is lost. Configuring a Controller for IP Client Power the controller with an external power supply or by PoE and connect the controller via Ethernet cable to the network. Make sure all DIP switches are set to the off position. Enter the IP address of the controller in the web address bar of Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer. Set DIP switch 1 to the ON position to leverage the default username and password. Log into the controller within 5 minutes of setting DIP switch 1 to the ON position with these default credentials. Username: admin Password: password From the menu located at the left of the configuration manager page, click on the ‘Network’ button to visit the network settings page Ensure ‘Use the following DNS server address is checked and enter 8.8.8.8. This is a Google DNS server. We recommend utilizing this to maintain the best operation. Click on the Accept button in the ‘Network Settings’ page to save changes. Navigate to the menu and select the ‘Host Comm’ to open the page. Ensure the Primary Host Port is configured as follows. It should be noted the Alternate Host Port must be disabled: Communication Address: 0. Use IPv6: Unchecked. Connection Type: IP Client. Data Security: TLS if Available. Host IP/Host Name: connect.feenics.com. Port Number: 3001. Connection Mode: Continuous. Retry Interval: 20sec Click on the ‘Accept’ button in the ‘Host communication’ page to save changes. Navigate once again to the menu and select ‘Apply Settings’ to open the page. Click ‘Apply setting, Reboot’ (located at the top of the page). If a warning page appears, check both the ‘I understand' and 'wish to proceed’ boxes. Click 'Yes' to apply the changes and allow the controller to reboot. Adding Controllers to Access Expert Controllers are added to Feenics from the Hardware Provisioning tab. When adding a controller, you will need to select the controller type from the drop-down list. If the controller you are trying to add does not match one of the types listed, Access Expert does not support it. When adding a controller, a name must be given to identify the controller and the UNIQUE MAC address of the controller. The MAC address is used to identify the controller within the Feenics system. Duplicate MAC addresses will not be allowed.   When adding a controller, the MAC address is optional. If no MAC address is provided, the controller will be marked as disabled upon save. The controller can only be enabled by providing a valid MAC address.    Steps to add an IP Controller to Access Expert Select the ‘Hardware Provisioning’ Tab Click “Add Controller” and select your device type Enter a Display Name Enter the MAC Address in the correct format: “XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX” Select the time zone (This sets the Controller Time) (OPTIONAL) Assign Card Formats as needed (Can be added later) (OPTIONAL) Add Custom EOL Tables 8. Click “Save” or “Save & Close” The Port configurations will be grayed out initially until you commission Interfaces and Downstream Devices. At that point, the port configuration section will automatically be configured. Baud Rate is configurable but all devices on the bus must share a baud rate. ***Important Note: It is important to choose the correct controller type when adding a new controller.  

Issue Unable to add a new user in a G3 (Niagara) ENC station accessed via web browser. There is no "New" tab displayed under the Services / UserService / right-click, User Manager page. Environment I/A Series ENC-520, ENC-410 Embedded Workbench feature, part number ENC-WB Cause The ability to add a user to the ENC via web browser requires the Embedded Workbench feature be enabled. Resolution To determine if the ENC has the Embedded Workbench feature enabled, open the Platform, License Manager, view the license, and the feature name = "web" ... ui.wb.admin = true indicates that the feature is enabled.  See the high-lighted lines in the screen capture below. If the feature is not enabled, it can be ordered and added to the ENC license.  

Issue Is it needed to connect DC voltage to trigger the DI of the 301 and 421A What is the max current/voltage that a DI point can handle. Environment Xenta 301, Xenta 302, Xenta 4xx Cause The inputs on the Xenta 300 and 4xx are active inputs from the terminals X1, U1 etc. Meaning the terminal is at high voltage when open.  For a UI (act as a DI) channel, the voltage across open contact is approximately 20 V DC, and for a XI channel,  the voltage across open contact is approximately 33 V DC. To activate the digital input, engineer needs to connect the signal to M ( = 0 volt) terminal, so current flows FROM the X1 to M. So basically we expect a switch that connects M and X1 (U1). Resolution No you only need a switch that connects M0 to X1 or U1 (or other digital, universal input). Note: It is recommended to have a non-voltage dry point relay switch to protect the digital input on the controller and IO module.

Issue SevenReports Error when attempting to open report directly from Windows Explorer or Graphics link Error received: Error in command line parameters: Report Type: 255 Duration: 255 Error Text: C:\INETSevenData\Reports\xxxxxxxx.rpt   The Icon for SevenReports is incorrect: Environment SevenReports Windows7 Cause File association has some how become corrupt or it has been associated with the SevenReport.exe file after installing the SetupCrystalReportsXI.exe. Resolution In most cases the file association will occur automatically and there is no need to manually do this.  Best practice is to restart the computer after installation, this should stop this error from occurring. Should this error still occur then this will require manually repairing the .rpt file association within the registry. Edit the following Registry keys so they appear as shown below: 1. HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.rpt If there is an additional sub-key (folder) under the .rpt entry called UserChoice; then delete this key. 2. HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.rpt\OpenWithList If there are any other entries here they should be removed and this entry must match exactly as shown in this screen. 3. HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.rpt\OpenWith\Progids 4. Close the registry editor and Windows Explorer (if opened) 5. Re-open Windows Explorer, browse to the INET Seven Reports folder (default "C:\INET Seven Data\Reports") and see that the ICON has changed back to the correct type and that double clicking on any of the reports now opens correctly.  If not please contact Product Support.

Issue Information is needed about the Access Expert Kone Elevator Integration Product Line EcoStruxure Access Expert Environment Access Expert Hosted V3 Cause Kona Elevator integration information  Resolution Overview: Destination Dispatch is a licensed feature for Access Expert and used when customers are modernizing their elevator systems or deploying newer ones which do not utilize the relay-based approach for floor control and selection. Within Access Expert, 3 different elevator platforms are supported which include Otis, Kone and ThyssenKrupp. For this document, we will focus on a KONE deployment. It is important to note that a single Access Expert can support multiple integrations at the same time. The KONE integration supports up to 128 total floors of control. When using front and rear entry points within the elevator cabs), each entry point is considered to a separate destination. This means a 32- story building using front and rear entry points will result in 64 individual destinations.   A KONE protocol was created so that the LP controllers can manage access for the KONE Elevator Group Controller. Mercury will support configuration for Destination Operation Panels (DOPs), Car Operation Panels (COPs), and turnstiles. This feature is supported on the LP4502, and EP4502. The support for KONE Elevators was added in firmware 1.25.5.   Prerequisites: 1. Access Expert System 2. KONE Destination Dispatch License - FN-DEST-KONERS 3. Appropriate Reader Licenses 4. AX-LP4502 5. Coordination with the Elevator Contractor A KONE Elevator Destination Dispatching System mode was created within Access Expert so that the LP4502 intelligent controller can inform a KONE DEC (Destination Entry Computer, E.g. touch screen or keypad) allowed and authorized floors for a cardholder. This feature is only supported on the LP4502.   Controller Page 1. On the LP4502 controller page, navigate to the "Destination Dispatch" Tab. 2. Select Kone. 3. Enable "Has front and rear floors" if your Kone setup has front and rear floors. Make sure to take into consideration this flag when assigning elevator floors access. It is also recommended to consider the door when creating names. Examples like 2F or 2R are beneficial to system operators. 4. Set the Maximum Cabin Configurations. This is the number of Kone Cabin Access configurations that can be stored on the controller. 5. Press Save. 6. From the "Add Downstream" dropdown, select Kone KGC under the network port. 7. Enter the Display Name to be applied to be used.  8. Enter the KONE primary KGC IP address and Port. 9. Leave 2005 as the default port number. Press Save 10. Repeat steps 6 to 8 for the Backup KGC. 11. Issue a "Push Controller Database" command.   Reader Page Once the Interface Controller has been saved, add/Navigate to a reader attached to the Controller, and move to the elevator tab. The Reader does not reside on the KONE KGC downstream. The KGC downstream is only used to configure the controller with the Primary/Backup KGCs. The readers must be on the regular Mercury downstream modules or attached to the LP4502. Because of this, the actual reader setup is similar to a regular door/elevator deployment with the addition of new settings on the Elevator Tab. Once the Elevator Type is set to Destination Dispatch, a series of settings will be enabled and displayed. You will be presented with a WARNING Message when the Elevator Type is selected. This message is normal and you should select YES. 1. On the reader page, navigate to the "Elevator" tab. 2. Select "Kone Destination Dispatching" as the Elevator Type. 3. Select the Kone Operation Type. Please note that Kone does not support mixing Remote Call Giving Interface (RCGIF or turnstiles) with Destination Operation Panel (DOP) and/or Car Operation Panel (COP). Only one is supported at a time. 4. Depending on the Operation Type, specify the fields. 5. If desired, select an Override Elevator Access Level. This will allow a set of floors to be public during defined schedules. 6. Press Save. Kone Cabin Access Page 1. Navigate to "Access Configuration" on the Main Ribbon bar. 2. Go to "Kone Cabin Access". 3. Click on "Add Kone Cabin Access". 4. Enter a Display Name. 5. Enter the allowed cabins (up to 255). You can use the following formats to enter values: 1-10,15,16. 6. Press Save. Person Page Once the reader has been saved navigate to the person(s) who you want to grant access to the destination dispatch and select the new destination dispatch tab at the bottom of the page this will take you to a new Destination dispatch tab. To add an Elevator user setting, simply select the elevator type you wish to grant access to and click the add button. You will be prompted to select a controller. If there are no active LP4502 elevator controllers, then the dropdown will be empty meaning the user needs to add a valid controller. 1. On the person page, navigate to the "Destination Dispatch Settings" tab. 2. On the "Kone Settings" tab, click on "Add Kone Setting". 3. Select the Kone controller and press OK. 4. Enter the Default Floor. 5. Enter the Default Floor Side. 6. Select a Cabin Access 7. Select the Kone Elevator flags to be applied to the person. 8. Press Save.  *Users must configure the Instance Settings to reflect the correct number of floors. The Cab used will be sent by the Kone system to Keep on an 'Access Granted' and displayed in event data. Masks Kone has Global and Specific Masks that are used when setting schedules. These can be set and cleared by right-clicking on the controller and selecting the appropriate option. Setting the Global Mask opens the Global Mask Configuration window. To add a floor configuration, click the "Add Floor Configuration" button, then select the desired floors. From there the options for each floor can be selected by setting the appropriate flags for the floor. Click "OK" to save the changes. Other Information: Each Elevator Manufacturer has specific settings, commands or fields when deploying the Destination Dispatch integration. The following are specific to KONE: Supported Reader Types: 1. Destination Operation Panel (DOP) – Destination operation panels are located outside of the elevator car. Each of these will be configured as a separate reader. 2. Car Operation Panel (COP) – Destination operation panels are located inside the elevator cab. Each of these will be configured as a separate reader. 3. Turnstile (RCGIF) – Turnstiles are half-height sensor barrier solutions designed for public and commercial buildings and airports. Each turnstile will be configured as a reader and must use a Mercury reader port.

Issue How to bring a BACnet controller online after restoring a backup Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment EcoStruxure Building Operation Cause Customers may want to take a backup from a site and use it on other setups. If there would be any BACnet controller under the Backup, they may need to know the process of hosting the BACnet controllers under the restored backup on the physical BACnet controllers.   Resolution This video will demonstrate how to bring a BACnet controller online after restoring a backup. NOTE After matching up the Device ID of the BACnet controller under the restored server and the Object ID of the physical BACnet controller, if the hosting status shows “Not hosted”, users need to perform a "Repair Hosting". Please refer to Repair Hosting a BACnet/IP controller 

Issue Unwanted hardware and other alarms received at Enterprise Server Product Line Satchwell BAS & Sigma, EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment EcoStruxure Building Operation Sigma Release 4_08 (Build 3_46_57) Cause Unwanted Sigma hardware and other alarms received at Enterprise Server. Resolution Navigate through the “Sigma interface”, to the controller (OSN) that the alarms need to be disabled from. Select the controller’s property (basic tab), Device monitoring can be enabled or disabled.     If you need to disable the alarms for multiple controllers, this can be done by multi selecting the required controllers, opening the property panel and change the setting there.  

Issue What is the password recovery procedure for the SpaceLogic Operator Display if the password is lost? Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment SpaceLogic Operator Display Cause If losing the password for the SpaceLogic Operator Display there is no password recovery procedure available to recover it. The only option to access the device again is to do a device recovery procedure on the device. When doing a device recovery on the device everything on it, all users, configuration data, and logs will be deleted and a new firmware loaded into the device Resolution Steps to perform a device recovery procedure:   Download the device recovery file (tar.gz file) which is included in the “SpaceLogic Operator Display HMIST6400SL Firmware Package” which you can download from Schneider Electric Exchange Extract files and copy them to a USB stick (Format: FAT) a. Unpack the tar.gz  b. Two unpacks are required, then "aurora" folder should be present c. Copy whole "aurora" folder to a USB stick d. The structure on disk should be: e. aurora (folder)-FIRMWARE (folder)- AURORA.CFG-nand.img Power off OPD (Operator Display) Connect a USB-OTG cable (On-The-Go cable, USB-micro-B to USB-A) to the USB-2 port on the rear of OPD . Note: The cable is like a key, to enable device recovery. Do NOT connect USB stick to cable. Connect the USB stick to the USB-1 port on the rear of the OPD Power on OPD Device will boot to a white screen and display: Recovery Mode Loading nand.img... Writing KERNEL... Writing ROOTFS... Udisk upgrade success! (Loud beep) "Upgrade successfully, Wait to Reboot!" Power off OPD. Issue An application will not open in WorkPlace Tech Editor with the following error:   WorkPlace Tech Editor returned errorOperation aborted (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004004 (E_ABORT))   Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Workstation (WorkPlace Tech Editor) Visio 2013, 2016, and 2019   Cause Visio crash causes the Add-In for WorkPlace Tech Editors fluent ribbon to become disabled Resolution To re-enable the WorkPlace Tech Editor fluent ribbon bar, perform the following steps: Open Visio.  NOTE: Open Visio, not WorkPlace Tech Editor Select Options from the File menu. From the menu in the Visio Options window, select Add-ins At the bottom of the window, you will see a field that says 'Manage:' with a selection box after it, select 'Disabled Items' and then click the [Go] button. In the 'Disabled Items' window, select 'SE.WorkStation.IA.VisioRibbon' then click the [Enable] button. Close the open Visio windows and sub-windows. After closing Visio, the WorkPlace Tech Editor fluent ribbon bar will be available in WorkPlace Tech Editor

Issue Sigma Server failure Environment Sigma Site Cause Sigma has worked OK previously but now the Sigma server fails every time and quickly after starting. Resolution A new anti-virus definitions file has been downloaded either manually or automatically and has detected that a Sigma file may be suspect, this will normally be a fault of the definitions file. There will be a report in the Windows event viewer that Sigma services has failed. Anti-Virus software is often set to move suspect files into a "quarantined" directory.  There will be a log to show this. Check these for any Sigma files quarantined. Anti-Virus software can also be set to automatically delete suspect files.  There will be a log to show this. Check this for any Sigma files shown as deleted. 1. Disable the Anti-Virus software on either the whole of c:\sigma\data or c:\sigma\bin. Note: The site IT may need to be involved and approval may be required. 2. Either re-instate the files from the quarantined folder or re-install Sigma.

Issue Receive "This Login does not match Windows login" error when trying to login to a client session of WebClient. Environment WebClient User Permissions Cause User account had not been granted Local Admin rights. Resolution Grant Local Admin rights to the account user.

Issue Restrict the number of login attempts for a Vista user. Environment Vista Workstation Cause Vista does not have a settings for login attempts. This is normally controlled by Windows and the Windows Domain. Resolution Create a Vista domain user. It is good practice to always log out of Windows when done. The IT department will typically have a set of rules for the domain. One of these will usually set the domain user to 3 login attempts to Windows before the account is locked.

Issue Trend charts don't display any data in Advanced Display v3 (ADv3) although the data can be seen in a trend log list  The trend charts display data normally on other WorkStation and WebStation clients. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Advanced Display V3 Cause The ADv3 date is incorrect, therefore the trend chart when opening shows an interval that doesn't include any data. Resolution Set the correct date and time in the ADv3:   Exit the SmartX HMI Kiosk app - Short press the power button (less than 3 seconds) Enter the password to exit the app and return to SmartX HMI Kiosk To Exit the Kiosk mode repeat the previous 2 steps. In the Home screen mode slide up and tap Settings Tap the System option Tap the option Date and Time and adjust accordingly or enable the option Automatic date and time.  

Issue How to configure an analog input on a DMS MicroSmart controller as a contact input. Environment MSC-MPC (revision 10) and MSC-MPC-001 (revision 11) MicroSmart controllers Cause No contact inputs available on the MSC-MPC Resolution Below are illustrations and explanations on how to configure an analog input as a contact input.  

Issue Obix stops polling data randomly Environment G3 Niagara Cause The niagara Obix driver jar has recently been updated to address this issue. Resolution Go to The Exchange Download Center and download the latest niagara Obix driver jar file 3.6.47.9

Issue Is the TAC228R controller still available? Environment TAC228R 2281084000 Cause Availability of old controller Resolution The TAC228R was withdrawn in 2011 and is no longer available for ordering for new projects. It will still be available as a spare part until 2021-12-31 when it will be terminated. A suitable alternative is the SE8300 series of room controllers. The TAC228R had the ability of a remote setpoint using a 0-10V signal, by using lua script and utilizing the input UI23, the same operation can be achieved.

Issue Unable to determine why Users are being denied access at doors. Reviewing events shows that the Users are being denied access due to an Access Level that is not even configured to allow access to that door. User [UN1] Door not allowed [DR2] Using Access Level [AL1] Product Line EcoStruxure Security Expert Environment Security Expert Cause The user has no valid access levels for this door. Resolution The event showing like this is a side product of how access is validated. When a user badges at a reader, the card is first matched to a User record.  Each of that user's access levels is then checked, from top to bottom, until either one is found to have access to the door, or all are checked and none have access to the door. If a valid access level is found then that is the access level shown in the Granted entry/exit event. If the user has only one access level and it is not valid for this door, the event will appear to be correct as that will be the access level name shown in the Door not allowed event. If the user has multiple access levels and none of them allow access to the door then the Door not allowed event shows the name of the last access level checked, which in all cases is the one from the bottom of the user's list of access levels.

Issue How to use secondary values in programmable points. How to use forecast in programmable points. Environment BAS SIGMA Cause Some objects in Sigma and BAS have secondary values: Time Schedule - minutes to next switch (when the time schedule is going to change state) is displayed. An example of this is to bring on the heating plant 30 minutes before an AHU starts. Optimiser - minutes to next switch (when the optimiser is going to change state) is displayed. An example of this is to bring on the boiler plant 30 minutes before an VT cct starts. Rotation - the lead load no. is displayed. An example of this is to determine the lead load when a modulating burner signal is used. DO and DI - the hours run is displayed. An example of this is to do pump changeover on hours run. Resolution Example: For a Time schedule: 10 xflo =  P100 (timeschedule object) forecast 20 if P100 off and xflo < 30.0 then return true "Plant PreHeat" 30 if P100 on then return true "Time On" 40 return false "Time Off"   For a Rotation object with 2 loads: 10 xflo = P120 (rotation object) forecast 20 if aflo=1.0 then return true "Boiler1 Lead" 30 if aflo=2.0 then return true "Boiler2 Lead" 40 return false "false" Note: aflo is used as a global variable to another object in the same controller, if not required then substitute with xflo.
