Issue Getting runtime error 312 when in the embedded webpage on both NC2 and BCX. Environment Embedded Webpage NC2 BCX ACX B4 Cause Malware present on PC. Resolution Run virus scan. If virus scan software is not successful at eradicating the virus, format and reinstall operating system.

Issue Unable to find an object in the Database error when Alarm Page is selected in the object editor. Environment Alarm Functions Alarms Cause Alarm Function keys still present in the registry after Alarm Functions have been removed from Continuum. Resolution In order for Alarm Functions to work, special registry keys are created under the Andover Controls HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Andover Controls\Continuum\Settings folder. To resolve this issue on systems where alarm functions are no longer used... Make a backup of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Andover Controls\Continuum\Settings Delete the unused registry keys per Continuum online help article User-Defined Alarm Functions.

Issue When importing custom format card records, Continuum fails to create personnel objects for records where the card number has seven or more digits. Environment CSV Import Personnel records Custom Format Cause Continuum defaults to Infinity_37 When the card format is not specified in the import file.  While custom formats can accommodate larger card numbers, Infinity 37 cards only support card numbers up to 524287. Resolution Add a attribute column for cardtype. Under the card format column for each card, add Customwiegand.

Issue If soldering or welding is required for connecting the valves, different kits are available. Environment Venta V241 V241 Cause Different applications requires different ways of connecting the valve to the pipe work. Resolution There are 3 different kits available: for welding, soldering and for internal threads. All details and part numbers are available in the data sheets. Please note that one (1) kit is required for each port.

Issue Vista Webstation 4/5 is installed but only displays HTTP error 500 Environment Vista Webstation IIS Cause If the local host page cannot be displayed then the problem lies within IIS more so than Vista Webstation. Resolution The first thing to do is check if the IIS will display any webpages (http://localhost/ for example). If it will not then follow these steps to correct the matter: From Administrative Tools, Open Component Services MMC and delete IIS related packages (IIS In-Process Applications, IIS Out-of-Process Applications, and IIS Utilities) if the Files cannot be deleted, Right click on the object, select properties, select Advanced Tab, uncheck "Disable deletion". Open a command prompt and navigate to the %windir%\system32\inetsrv folder and enter the following commands: rundll32 wamreg.dll,CreateIISPackage regsvr32 asptxn.dll Restart IIS via IISRESET entered at a command prompt.

Issue Excessive alarms coming into Vista Workstation from change of state objects Environment Vista Cause Alarm parameters may be set to be too sensitive for the hardware they are monitoring. Resolution Change of State Parameters: Right Click on the Change of State Object Select Properties Click on the Alarms Tab Change the High and Low Alarm limits to decrease potential alarms Increase the minimum change to increase the deviation required for an alarm to trip.

Issue A new Lookup table has been created, when should it be downloaded? Environment Sigma 4.03 X32 and X96 controllers Cause What is the correct sequence for downloading new Lookup tables? Resolution The download process is as follows; 1 - Create the new lookup table with the required configuration, using the Sigma System Setup. 2 - Allocate the new lookup table number to the appropriate Sigma object and then download it. 3 - In the Sigma System Diagnostics, select the correct controller number, and then choose to "Build and Download Lookup Table". This process will create a new "Lookup.rec" file in the OSN??? folder, and this will contain the new table and any others required by the controller.

Issue Programming the controller scan rate object. Environment Controller UNC696 UNC796 Scan rate Cause How is the UNC scan rate object programmed? Resolution For the UNC696/796 controllers the controller scan rate object is allocated object 252. Programming the Scan rate object. Programme a new Analogue Input (AI) object using object number 252 in a suitable location within the index structure. Set the lookup table to 2000 Choose a suitable short text if one is available, or add a new one possibly as follows "Scan %1.0f SPM" Download the object and review after a minute.

Issue Does Schneider-Electric carry a line of carbon monoxide sensors with BACnet capability? Environment Kele Veris Cause Job specification Resolution Veris will be releasing a carbon monoxide sensor with BACnet and Modbus capability in 2Q14. Kele has the GDN series of carbon monoxide sensors that are BACnet and Modbus capable.  Visit kele.com and type GDN into the search field for a list of available models.

Issue Are there any controllers not supported by the MIP that are non-software downloadable? Environment I/NET site Cause Are there any controllers not supported by the MIP that are non-software downloadable Resolution Yes, the 7750 Building Manager.

Issue If a controller is not being used for 06 emulation, does the Boot ROM revision need to be the same as the host revision? Environment I/NET site Cause 06 Emulation Resolution No. Only needs to be the same when 06 emulation is being used.

Issue When upgrading I/NET 2000 to I/NET Seven, if during the install process you answered Yes and specified the I/NET 2000 root directory, I/NET Seven defaults all of its default directories to I/NET 2000. Environment I/NET Site Cause Issue when upgrading I/NET 2000 to I/NET Seven, if during the install process you answered Yes and specified the I/NET 2000 root directory, I/NET Seven will make all the default directories to I/NET 2000 Resolution Either copy the new BIN files into the old I/NET 2000 data directory, or change the I/NET configuration after the upgrade to point to the I/NET Seven data directory. By leaving everything the way it is, it will result in problems with I/NET Seven security, and transactions not showing up correctly.

Issue When starting SIGNAL, a pop-up window declares "Sorry this program has not been enabled". But the security plug is installed in the computer’s parallel printer port (LPT1). Environment Windows XP with SP2 Cause The HASP security plug driver that is included with the Signal-XP software is not compatible with Windows XP-sp2. Resolution Follow these steps: Ensure that the serial number on the security plug matches the serial number on the Installation Diskette #1. The first 4 digits of the serial number are a data code and DO NOT need to match. The last 4 digits MUST match. This applies to all versions of SIGNAL. If it’s SIGNAL for Windows XP (version 5.0), the drivers for the security plug need to be updated. See Technical Alert TA06-03 for details in updating the drivers. If it’s SIGNAL for Windows 95/98 (version 4.4.1 or earlier), try the following:      Disconnect any printer.      Modify LPT1, in Windows and/or the computer’s BIOS, and make it bi-directional.      Use the Plug Testing utility program (16Bit Plugtest.zip) available from The Exchange Download Center to validate the security plug. If it’s defective, a new security plug can be ordered.

Issue How can a graph displaying two points in WorkPlace Pro be created? Environment Workplace Pro Trend log graph Cause Displaying two points' trend data on a single graph allows the user to compare two values over time. Resolution Using return air temperature and supply air temperature as an example: In the logic folder, link these two objects to an analog log object using status output to status input. Open a web browser and type the SWID http://IPaddress/chart/log. In the log window, hold down the CTRL key and select multiple logs and click on ADD and click Chart. This will create a chart with multiple points. Continue the following steps to access it from the browser: In the chart window, copy the URL address and create a gx text on a gxpage. Go to the properties of the gxtext and select the visual tab. On the hyperlink URL paste the address in the space. On hyperlinkonclick select URL, go to the configure tab and type text in the box that will display in the browser. Open a web browser and type in this SWID http://IPaddress/gx/index. This will display the list of graphics, select one and select the gxtext. This will launch to the graphics page.

Issue Getting the error “relay access denied” when trying to send an email from an UNC with MailService installed. Environment R2 (all version), UNC, Enterprise Server Cause SMTP Server requires Authentication Resolution If the SMTP mail server requires authentication, the Niagara host's (UNC or Enterprise Server) must have the following line present in its system.properties file: mail.smtp.auth=true Add the above line if it’s missing from the host’s system.properties file.  If the line is present but commented out, remove the “#” from the front of the line for the line to apply.  The host must be rebooted for the change to its systems.properties file to apply.

Issue What is the maximum distance an xP expansion module can be installed? Environment xP Expansion Module Cause Maximum cable length Resolution Modules can be connected to the bottom of the controller with the built-in expansion port connector or they may be connected remotely via a 3-foot (~1m) or 10-foot (~3m) ribbon cable. A total of 10 feet of cable may be used for all Expansion Modules. Mounting and securing of the xP modules is provided through four mounting holes in the base plate.

Issue An Alarm object in an XBuilder project has two outputs - digital and state.  The state output corresponds to the acknowledged state of the alarm.  To use this output programmatically, the enumeration values must be known. Environment Xenta 511,527,555,701,711,721,731 Cause Not knowing meaning of Alarm State output values in Xenta 700 Resolution The Xenta 700 alarm state enumeration is: 0 - Normal 1 - Passive_unacked 2 - Active_unacked 3 - Active_acked

Issue  Is there a easy way to manage Vista user accounts in many TAC Vista servers at same time?   Environment TAC Vista 5.1.7 Cause A user is a global object so if the Vista servers is in the same Vista network they should all have the same users. If adding or deleting a user in one Vista server the user will be added or deleted in all Vista servers.   Resolution Connect the Vista servers in a Vista server network.
