Issue Boilers do not operate when HWS output is on. Environment Drayton DC 1100 DC 1400 Boilers not working HWS Hot water Cause "Boiler Linked" has not been selected in the menu setup. Resolution By default the controller does not have the "Boiler Linked" option set. Set the rotary switch to "Set". In the display menu structure choose; "System Menus" "Alter Settings" Enter the pass number of 0112 and press enter. "Hot Water" "Link Option" Choose the "Linked Option". Return the rotary switch back to "Auto"

Issue Looking for a replacement product for TA218Z or TA218E Environment TA 218Z TA218E Cause An old controller (part no 218-1040-000 or 218-1020-000) with built in clock, designed for room control of reheat heat exchangers and radiators. Designed in the early 80's, now is looking for a replacement. Resolution There is no replacement product available. A programmable Xenta controller would be the best choice.

Replacement actuator for old TAC M44

Issue Actuator M44 is no longer available (withdrawn in 2000) and needs a replacement. Environment M44 M9B EM9 Forta Cause Depending on application, since the M44 was used for both rotating and sliding valves, a few different replacement actuators could be used. Resolution For valves with rotating stem, (TRV, VTRA, VTRE and STMG), actuators M9/EM9 can be used. For valves with linear moving stems the TAC Forta series actuator is used.

Issue If using V231 DN25 and a Forta M800, what is the max ΔPc? Environment Forta M800 V231 DN25 Cause In case the ΔPc is too high, the Forta may not be capable of controlling the valve properly. Resolution The combination of V231 DN25 and M800 should have a max ΔPc of appr. 1150kPa (11.5Bar) For more information and details regarding the different applications, please see the data sheets for each product involved.

Issue Wiring detail using STR602 temperature sensor inc. remote adjust with a CXR5805 Controller Environment STR602 CXR5605 CXR 5605 Cause The STR datasheet instructions are not clear, it details terminals 22, 23 and 24 and not what each terminal is for e.g. 0V Com, Setpoint, 'C. The CXR5805 User Guide details the old part numbers. Resolution The STR602 combines the RPW4425 and DRT3453 into one temperature and setpoint unit. The STR602 is a 3 wire device using a common 0V between the setpoint adjust potentiometer and the temperature sensing thermistor. The terminations are STR602 term 22 (Setpoint) STR602 term 23 (Temp 'C) STR602 term 24 (0Vcom) And if used on a CXR5805 STR602 term 22 (Setpoint) is wired to term 5 on the CXR5805 STR602 term 23 (Temp 'C)  is wired to term 22 on the CXR5805 STR602 term 24 (0Vcom)  is wired to term 27 on the CXR5805 Link terminals 6 and 27 on the CXR5805

Resolution MVL56 is replaced by the Forta M700. "PS56" is a production specific specification for another manufacturer (unknown). Linkage kit required is depending on application. Issue Selecting the correct actuator for the VTRE valves. Environment VTRE M9B EM9 Cause The data sheet for VTRE is currently listing the following suitable actuators: M9B-24:  860-1010-000 M9B-230:  860-1020-000 EM9:  860-1110-000 Also, it states the following: "NOTE! The VTRE valves require that the  actuators be adjusted for 90° rotational travel." However, the EM9 listed in the data sheet is 180° rotational. Resolution The correct actuators should be the following: M9B-24:  860-1010-000 M9B-230:  860-1020-000 EM9:  860-1100-000

SPD310/SPD360, value outside of selected measurement range

Issue What happens with the output VDC value if the measured value goes outside of the specified range?  Environment SPD310 SPD360 Cause The selected value is specified by the position of the jumper. Signal output is set to 0-10V. Resolution If jumper is set to 500Pa and read value exceeds this value, the output signal will still show 10VDC. Any control signal above 10VDC is marginal, and should not be used as a measurement reference.
