Trend Log pages, Time Object pages, Alarm pages and Value pages in a TAC Xenta 721 project.

Issue Trend Log pages, Time Object pages, Alarm pages and Value pages in a TAC Xenta 721 project. Environment TAC Xenta 721 Cause XBuilder allows for the creation of some additional objects in a Xenta 721 project for use with the OP7, not to be visible in a web browser or Vista Workstation. Resolution In the XBuilder 5.1.0 you can add Trend Log pages, Time Object pages, Alarm pages and Value pages in a TAC Xenta 721 project. These pages are only for use in the OP7. Unfortunately, they are visible in the TAC Vista database and the pages do not work in Vista. If you use IE to browse the Xenta 721, you can not see the pages. These pages should not be visible in TAC Vista. This was reported as a bug and will be corrected in later versions.

Adding routers and moving devices in an existing LonMaker installation.

Issue  Routers and Channels must be added in the proper order to successfully move devices. Environment LonMaker Vista TP/FT10 Cause LonMaker will only allow devices to be moved to a location on the network that has an established communications path to the Network Interface. Attempting to do so will result in LonMaker denying the request to move the device.  Resolution This example consists of a network containing L-IP Ethernet to TP/FT-10 Router (LIP) with a single TP/FT-10 Channel (FT10) and six devices. (Device 1-6). The topology and hardware used in a LonMaker network can vary greatly but the same technique should be followed to successfully insert routers, channels, and move devices around in the network.    2 TP/FT-10 to TP/FT-10 routers (LPR10_1-2) will be placed on the existing TP/FT-10 Channel Drag the Channel Stencil onto the drawing and designate it as a TP/FT-10 Channel. Drag the appropriate Router Stencil into the drawing. The New Router Wizard will then allow you to name the Router (LPR10_1)and designate the Near/Far side Channels. Channel A (near side) is designated on the old FT10 channel and LPR1 Channel B (far side) is designated on the new FT10_1 Channel.   Repeat steps 1 through 4 for LPR2. which will result in the following The original TP/FT-10 Channel can now be renamed to represent the FT10 Backbone. Select devices to be moved onto the new FT10_ 1 and FT10_2 channels. Right Click each device and select "Move Device > Change Channel".  (Device1) In the Channel Select Wizard, Change the Destination Channel to the Desired new Channel. (FT10_1) Repeat for Devices 2-5 on the FT Backbone to the desired new FT-10 Channel.

Issue "Not set" shown in the name column after upgrading to database layout version 2. Environment TAC Vista 5.1.7 or newer SQL taclogdata database layout version 2.0 Cause The "Name" column is a new column introduced in Vista 5.1.7 with the new database layout, so when a database is upgraded no name is added as there is no contact with Vista. Once Vista is running and a value is logged to the trendlog the name will be updated in the "Name" column to the same name as shown in Vista. Resolution No resolution required as the name will be updated once a log value is logged to the log database.

When attempting to create OP Trees for Xenta controllers, some public signals in the application do not appear in the OP/32 Configuration Tool.

Issue When attempting to create OP Trees for Xenta controllers, some public signals in the application do not appear in the OP/32 Configuration Tool. Environment Xenta OP OP/32 Configuration Tool Cause While Menta allows you to use both uppercase and lowercase module names, the OP/32 Configuration Tool is case sensitive and can only use one version of a particular module name. For example, if you refer to Air Handler 1 as both "AH1" and "ah1" modules in an application, the OP Tool will only list the points from either the capitalized module or the lowercase module; never both. Resolution To correct this issue and make the missing points visible in the OP Tool: Close the OP Tool Standardize the module names to the same case format To change module names: Select one or more blocks with the mouse When they are highlighted in green, right click and click on "Module" Type in the new module name and then click "OK". Save the application Re-open the OP Tool

Error message: "Failed to run DcuXml.exe" when importing I/NET .sav files into XBuilder

Issue   Error message: "Failed to run DcuXml.exe" when importing I/NET .sav files into XBuilder Product Line TAC INET, TAC Vista Environment XBuilder 1.6.0 Cause When XBuilder imports I/NET save files, it does a simple batch of all of the save files for the import process. It creates a path for the import into XBuilder. A typical path might look like this: C:\TAC XBuilder Projects\MyProjectName\Files\INET\dcu0102,dcu0103,dcu0104 This example shows the import of 3 I/NET save files with a character length of 72 for the batch process. This process is limited to 2048 characters. Importing 15-20 save files will cause a crash.   Resolution To squeeze a few more save files into XBuilder, shrink that path as much as possible. For example: Rename the default "TAC XBuilder Projects" folder to something shorter. Rename the project to something shorter. Move .sav files to another location, even temporarily to the C:\ drive root to eliminate extra path data. Example:  C:\XBPrj\MyPrj\Files\INET\dcu0102.sav.  This path shrinks the directory at the front end to allow for more save files on the backend.

Hardware required to integrate I/NET security with Vista system

Issue What hardware is necessary to integrate an I/NET security system with a Vista front end? Environment Vista 4.5.0 Vista 5.x.x Xenta Server 527 Cause To properly integrate an I/NET security system to Vista a Xbuilder project must be used to expose the I/NET controllers in the Vista tree structure. In addition the unit must not block AMT (Alarms, Messages, and Transactions) traffic from the I/NET controller LAN. Due to these requirements the Xenta Server 913 and the Xenta Server 527-NPR do not meet the requirements to integrate an I/NET security system into Vista. Resolution Use a TAC Xenta 527 (part number 007308200) for integration of an I/NET security system to Vista.

AS or ES sending a SNVT to the bound device

Issue Can an AS or ES also send a SNVT to the bound device, even though the value itself hasn't been updated? Environment AS or ES with bound SNVT to send Cause Just to be clear, a TAC Xenta will send out a bound SNVT's value if it has been updated or by period. For the AS or ES, can it also send a SNVT to the bound device, even though the value itself hasn't been updated? Example: a SNVT_switch that is 100,1... it then writes 100,1 again. Will the SNVT be send again, as it's actually updated, even though the value hasn't changed?  Resolution For devices it shall be send again in StruxureWare Building Operation 1.0 or 1.1. In StruxureWare Building Operation 1.3 is going to be send always.

Values under Xenta Server on Graphics in Webstation Show Offline in Chinese OS

Issue In Chinese OS, values under Xenta server on graphics in Webstation show offline. But in Workstation, it is fine. Environment Xenta 5/7/9 Vista Graphics Webstation Cause In Chinese OS, the characters contain space will show odd symbols. If the path of the value contains space, it will be fine in Workstation, but offline in Webstation. Resolution The solution of this issue is to avoid space in the path of the value. Use underline instead of space to separate characters. For these path that can’t avoid space(for example, the Public signal and Time schedule under Xenta server), create dummy variables to connect to them, and use these variables in graphics.
