PIDs and Float (FLT) modules tuned but not able to tune the last module added

Issue Site has installed and "Tuned" a few PIDs and Float (FLT) modules in the controller but is not able to tune the last module added. What may be wrong? (History – Tuning) Environment I/NET Site Cause Due to the memory required for the tuning function, there is a limit of four modules that can be contained in the history record of each controller. Resolution If an additional module is needed, an old one must be deleted first. For more information refer to the System Operator Guide or TCON 083.

Integrated Dial Function

Issue Integrated Dial Function Environment I/NET Site Cause This function provides one-way communication between a PC and one or more LANs when you configure your system as "Dial" using the I/NET Setup program. The PC can dial out to a LAN but the LAN cannot dial out to the remote PC. You must use a US Robotics 56k modem model 5686E and a 78010 Tap at each LAN you want to call. You must have a second US Robotics 56k modem model 5686E connected to the PC doing the dialing. Resolution Define the phone numbers for the PC using the Phone Numbers Editor that appears in the Host portion of the Edit menu when you configure your system as "Dial." You must configure the modems attached at the call initiating end (modem connected to the host PC) and the call receiving end (78010 Tap on the controller LAN) so they communicate with each other. Define the address, name, modem speed and telephone number of up to 64 remote devices per host. Select Edit Host Computer Phone numbers from the main menu. The system displays the Phone Number editor. This editor allows you to add, delete, modify, or copy phone numbers. This editor also lists the remote sites you can access from this host. If you have not added any sites, the fields are blank. Select Add. The system displays the Phone Numbers - Add editor. Select the Index (0 to 63). This number determines which line in the list will display this entry. Enter a Name for the remote site (up to 16 characters). Choose a Dialing Speed from the drop-down list. The speed you select must be equal to or less than the maximum speed of the modem performing the dial out. Define a Telephone Number (up to 31 characters). Start the number with a "T" for tone dialing. No "T" indicates pulse dialing. Use a comma to indicate a two-second pause.

Can MN View Run on Windows Server 2003 and Later?

Issue Can MN View be installed and run on Windows Server 2003 or newer operating systems? Product Line Satchwell MicroNet Environment MNView Windows Server 2003 and later (e.g., Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) Cause MN View was originally designed and tested for compatibility with Windows XP. It has not been officially tested or validated on Windows Server 2003 or any subsequent versions. Compatibility issues may arise due to differences in file system handling, user access control, and drive labeling conventions in newer Windows Server environments. Resolution While MN View may install on Windows Server 2003 and later, successful operation is not guaranteed. One known issue is related to the installation drive: MN View must be installed on the C: drive. If the software installs to a different drive label (e.g., 😧 or E:), it will not function correctly. Recommendations: Ensure the target system has a C: drive available and set as the primary installation path. Run the installer with administrative privileges to avoid permission-related issues. If using a newer Windows Server version (2008 or later), consider compatibility mode settings or virtualization as a workaround. For production environments, it is recommended to use a system that matches the original tested platform (Windows XP).

G3 schedules stop working after Daylight Savings Time (DST) changeover

Issue Some schedules stop operating correctly after Daylight Savings Time (DST) changeover.  Environment I/A Series G3, all ENS and ENC with builds 3.5.4, 3.4.53.1, 3.3.31.2, 3.2.23.1 or earlier. Cause Any station with a schedule, of any type, with an event set to occur during the "advanced" (missing) hour between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM on the DST changeover day. The resulting miscalculation of the schedule's "Next Time" or "Next Trigger" time could cause that schedule, or even other schedules in the station, to stop working. This typically affects downstream logic in the station. In some cases it was observed that the CPU usage on an ENC went up to 100% while calculating invalid next event times. Examples A station contains a BooleanSchedule with events at 12:00 AM and then again at 2:05 AM daily. At 12 AM the schedule executes normally and attempts to calculate the next event time. On the second Sunday in March the next event time calculates to a time that does not exist due to the DST change. This causes the Java thread that executes all schedules in the station to become tied up attempting to recalculate the time. A station contains a TriggerSchedule that periodically repeats every 15 minutes, with a range passing through the DST changeover time. On the second Sunday in March the next trigger time calculates to a time that does not exist (say, 2:15 AM). Again, this causes the Java thread that executes all schedules to become tied up attempting to recalculate. Resolution The solution to this issue is to upgrade the schedule.jar file in the platform to one of the versions below, or later. Files are available from The Exchange Extranet.  Release 3.3.31.2 (Download and extract schedule-3.3.34.1) If you are using a build that is higher than the above versions then you will not be affected by this issue.

Sigma - Programmable Object: Plant Override Using Momentary Switches

Issue Need programming assistance to allow HVAC plant override using momentary switches for Plant Start and Plant Stop, bypassing the standard time schedule control. Product Line Satchwell BAS & Sigma Environment Sigma Programming Cause The HVAC plant is typically governed by a time schedule. However, operational flexibility is required to manually override this schedule using physical momentary switches. Resolution The solution involves creating a programmable object that responds to two momentary switch inputs: Point 1: Override ON (Plant Start) Point 2: Override OFF (Plant Stop) Point 33: Time Schedule Status The logic ensures: When the time schedule is ON, the plant can be stopped or returned to schedule control. When the time schedule is OFF, the plant can be started for a fixed duration or returned to schedule control. If overridden OFF, the plant will automatically revert to time schedule control the next day. Sample Code Logic 10 IF POINT 0|1 ON THEN XInt = 1 20 IF POINT 0|2 ON THEN XInt = 2 30 IF POINT 0|33 OFF THEN GOTO 90 40 IF XInt = 2 THEN YInt = 1 50 IF XInt = 1 THEN YInt = 0 60 XInt = 0 70 IF YInt = 0 THEN RETURN TRUE 'Plant On' 80 RETURN FALSE 'Plant Off' 90 YInt = 0 100 IF XInt = 1 THEN SET TIMER 3600 'Start for 1 hour' 110 IF XInt = 2 THEN SET TIMER 0 'Stop immediately' 120 XInt = 0 130 IF TIME LEFT THEN RETURN TRUE 'Plant On' 140 RETURN FALSE 'Plant Off' Notes Point 1: Momentary switch for starting the plant. Point 2: Momentary switch for stopping the plant. Point 33: Indicates whether the time schedule is active.

Configure the 527-NPR to use custom port assignments

Issue Configure the 527-NPR to use custom port assignments Environment I/NET site Cause How to configure the 527-NPR to use custom port assignments Resolution The Xenta 527/511/913 line of controllers are configurable to use custom port numbers for the http, https, ftp, snmp, and other ethernet related protocols. This is configured in the web interface on these controllers. The 527-NPR however has a limited web interface that only allows you to modify the I/NET communication port (default 50069). To use custom port assignments you will need to follow these steps: Connect to the 527-NPR with a ftp client. Browse to the /sys/system directory. Copy the configuration file of the protocol you want to set a custom port on. (http.cfg for HTTP or HTTPS protocols) Modify the port number with notepad. Copy the file back into the /sys/system directory. Restart the 527-NPR. You will now be able to access the 527-NPR with the new port assignments.

Sigma IC-Modbus System Alarm Messages

Issue When using Sigma 4.00 or later, users may encounter system alarm message No. 19997: "Contact Sigma Support" in the Sigma Alarm Manager. This typically indicates an undefined or unrecognized system message. Product Line Satchwell BAS & Sigma Environment Sigma 4.00 and later IC-Modbus Cause In earlier versions of Sigma, system messages were stored in a master file that could be edited to accommodate new integrations or error messages. However, starting from Sigma 4.00, system messages are hard-coded and cannot be modified. If a system receives an undefined message, it is likely due to: A newer version of controller firmware being used in the field. The Sigma software not yet supporting the newer system message. Resolution   Upgrade Sigma Software Ensure the Sigma software is updated to the latest version to include support for newer system messages. Understand IC-Modbus Exception Codes For system messages in the range 19992–20002, the message number is derived from the Modbus exception code using the formula: System Message Number = 19992 + (Modbus Exception Code - 1) Exception Code Meaning Sigma Message No. 1 Illegal function code 19992 2 Illegal data address 19993 3 Illegal data value 19994 4 Slave device failure 19995 5 Acknowledge delayed 19996 6 Slave device busy 19997 7 Undefined error code 19998 8 Memory parity error 19999 9 Undefined error code 20000 10 Gateway path unavailable 20001 11 Gateway target device failed to respond 20002
