Cause
The network configuration in Windows 7 is set to “Public” instead of “Work”, which restricts communication between devices on the network.
Resolution
To resolve the issue, change the network type from Public to Work:
- Click Start and open the Control Panel.
- Select Network and Sharing Center.
- Under View your active networks, click the current network type (e.g., “Public Network”).
- Choose Work Network.
- Click Close.
Your computer should now be able to communicate with Sigma controllers over the network.
Additional Notes
- This issue is specific to Windows 7 and may not occur on other operating systems.
