Updated June 2019 The MicroNet 50 series range MN350, 450, 550, 650 LCD and Touchscreen have been withdrawn from sale. The IAC 420, 600 and Touchscreen have now also been withdrawn from sale. Issue The new release note for the IC3-SNP does not give the object mapping information for the IAC 420 controllers Environment Sigma IAC Controllers Integration Controllers Cause The release note for the latest IC3-SNP controllers does not give the table and offset information for the object mapping used in the gateway.txt file Resolution Please click here for a document giving the details of the tables and offset used. It is from an old release note but the details have not changed.

Issue How to setup RAM to monitor multiple systems from one RAM Engine Product Line Satchwell MicroNet, Satchwell Sigma, TAC Vista Environment Sigma Vista Micronet Remote Alarm Manager Cause There are some instances where a site has multiple system. These can all be monitored from a single RAM Engine interface where the alarm actions are carried out. Resolution In the first instance you need to install and configure the RAM engine on the chosen master system. How this is done is detailed in the engineering guide that gets installed with RAM. In the example attached Sigma is the main system. Two remote BAS2800+ systems are also monitored with alarm actions setup on the Sigma master system. RAM also supports Micronet and Vista. These will be tested in due course and this article will be updated to include the setup.

Issue ARCnet communications failure. Environment Micronet ARCnet Router MN50-MI-RTR Daughter Board Cause Is it possible to purchase the ARCnet daughter board separately for an MN50-MI-RTR ARCnet router? Issue My computer has USB ports, but it does not have serial or com ports. Can I use USB ports? Environment For I/NET, Host computer that either Direct Connects (cable 072) or you need to connect to a controller such as a 7798C (cable 082) Continuum, Vista, Sigma, I/A Series, Pelco, DVR, DS, Com Port, Com, PTZ Control, Serial Port, Comm, Comm Port Cause USB to Com has issues downloading or communicating with system. Resolution The generic drivers which came with your USB to Com adapter do not allow two-way communication.  Prolific driver often helps resolve this issue. Issue RAM, Remote Alarm Manager Environment Sigma, Micronet, BAS, Vista, RAM 1.2 Cause Configuration Controller Monitoring Scripts Output Interfaces Resolution There are 3 guides to assist in configuring RAM: Operators Manual Engineers Manual (more comprehensive than the Operators Manual) Script Editors Guide Note: There are scripts that are used in RAM. These can adapted to suit specific requirements. Copy the relevant script and rename. Use the renamed version. The scripts can be found in C:\Satchwell\Binary\Remote Alarm Manager and have the .scr extension. 

Issue Communications cabling Environment MicroNet Cable LAN Belden Cause Communications wiring Resolution Belden 8762 cable  or an  equivalent cable should be used for standard on pair communications. Issue The engineer is unable to select the Lon communications option in Visisat. Environment Visisat Lon Communications Cause The Lon Plug and Play driver has not been installed. Resolution Install the Lon Plug and Play driver. This driver is available as part of the Visisat Installation process, but to upload this driver click HERE.

Issue To order the correct version of this controller. Environment IAC600 Controller, IAC 600 Controller, MER207 Chip Eaton Williams BT Controller. Cause Ordering the incorrect version of controller will not allow the Eaton Williams scheme to operate correctly. Resolution To order the MER207 version of the IAC600 controller use the IAC600-S specification. To download the Visisat 2.1 MER207 stencils, please click here. Copy the downloaded file to your computer and unzip the file. The files will be unzipped to a folder "Satchwell" with the mer files in the correct folder structure underneath.The files will unzipped to a folder "Satchwell" with the mer files in the correct folder structure underneath. 1        Copy the folder Satchwell including its sub folders. 2        To your computers C: drive. 3        This will put the required MER files in the correct places ready for use. Now you can choose the stencil in VisiSat, when you need it, by selecting "open Stencil" and navigating to "C:\Satchwell\Binary\VisiSat\EN\Visio\Specials Products.vss.  

Issue A replacement for VisiView is required. Environment Satchnet VisiView Cause The VisiView software is now obsolete. Resolution VisiView can be replaced using a SmartStruxure Automation Server or TAC Xenta 555 Web server. Both the SmartStruxure Automation Server and the Xenta 555 provide web interfaces so that the customer can view their HVAC equipment graphically using an appropriate Web browser. Both the SmartStruxure Automation Server and TAC Xenta 555 Web server communicates with either IAC or Micronet controllers. Further information on the Micronet Transition to SmartStruxure can be found in PA-00228 The Xenta 555 is programmed using TAC Xbuilder, which allows data to be presented in a graphical format. Issue Using the selection tool to select the correct meter. Environment Heat Meters Cooling Meters Cause Selecting the incorrect meter can lead to loss of water flow and increased system pressure. Resolution Selecting an appropriate Heat Meter can be achieved using the selection tool. To view or download the tool click here. For the Product Announcement click here. The selection of a Heat Meter requires the following information; 1 - The maximum water flow through the system. 2 - The location of the meter, (Flow or Return). 3 - The size of pipe work where Heat Meter is to be installed. 4 - The media type, heating, cooling or both. 5 - Using the selection tool is made easier by using the Auto filter drop down selection arrows. These allow you to filter the selection on a particular area, i.e. "Flow Rate" as shown below. The Heat Meter part number is established as follows; 1 - Digits 1,2 - Heating, Cooling or Combined. 2 - Digits 3,4 - Flow rate. 3 - Digits 5,6 - Body length and connections. 4 - Digit 7 - Threaded/Flanged. 5 - Digit 8 - Heat Meter location Flow / Return. 6 - Digit 9 - Communications type. 7 - Digit 10 - Display option. 8 Digits 11,12,13 - Revision. Issue The requirement to have an enthalpy value, rather than a digital on or off state via the existing object. Environment MicroNet VisiSat Bubbleland Enthalpy logic Cause VisiSat's Bubbleland programming area stencil contains an enthalpy object. This object provide a digital state dependant on comparison. Depending on the controller type depends on the amount or objects the controller supports.   There is not a standard object to provide the enthalpy value. Resolution 1. A simple bubbleland scheme can be created to provide an approximate value for enthalpy. In the following example only changing temperature and humidity values are used, for other factors used to calculate true enthalpy use a fixed value. For example the value for pressure used is 1 bar. A custom object that outputs an enthalpy value can be downloaded below. For example: OR 2. Click here to down load this custom object. The file Enthalpy Custom Object.zip unzips to a folder Satchwell with the necessary files. Copy the Satchwell folder created to your C:\ drive then the files will be placed  in the correct folders in your VisiSat installation ready to use. If preferred download the relevant controller type configuration file, and then load the configured scheme with the enthalpy objects into the specific controller. Issue MicroNet controller objects have a maximum allowable value of 10.000 Environment   MicroNet Meters VisiSat Xbuilder Vista 5 Cause MicroNet controller objects have a maximum allowable value of 10.000 some meter readings require a greater value. Resolution 1. In VisiSat add two counter objects. Link the Rollover pulse output of the first counter to the Count input of the second Counter object. Fig 1. Counter Object 1 is used for the 0 - 999 part of the meter count. Counter Object 2 is used for the 1000 - 1,000,000 part of the meter count. 2. In the Xenta 731 add a Menta object and program shown below in fig 2 is one example. Fig 2. This Menta code multiplies counter object instance 2 by one thousand and adds the sum with counter object instance 1 giving an output for total meter reading of up to 9,999,999. 3. Issue The date and time must be included in the text message. Environment Sigma Micronet Vista BAS2800+ RAM Remote Alarm Manager Cause The basic text messages do not include the alarm date and time, this is a site requirement.. Resolution To change the message format, configure as follows: 1 - Using the RAM Console, select "Configuration" and the required "Action". 2 - Edit the Action, and select "Messages". 3 - Choose the "Advanced" option, and then "Edit Script". 4 - Choose "File" and then "Open File", browse to the location of the script file you want to open. An example script file can be uploaded from here. 5 - The screen capture below shows part of the script editor with the script file opened. This script will provide an alarm message which takes the following form. Message No (This cannot be de-configured), Alarm Priority, Alarm Date / Time, Mnemonic, and Value (i.e. Plant On / Plant Off etc.). The alarm cleared message is slightly different. Message No (This cannot be de-configured), Alarm Date / Time, Mnemonic, and Value (i.e. Plant On / Plant Off etc.).

Issue Unable to order MicroNet View SNP I/O Server software. Environment MicroNet View 2.1 add ons Cause With computers being supplied without parallel ports the SNP I/O Server software has now been updated and the requirement for the hardware (dongle) has been removed. PA_00145 Satchwell MicroNet Range Rationalisation details this and other changes to the MicroNet range of software and hardware. Click here to view the document.
